MY HUSBAND WAS APPROVED TODAY!! Finally after 28 months - approved!! =D

He was the only one in the entire embassy for his 8am interview time - he was there for an hour 20 min. They asked several weird questions like why had I hyphenated my last name, but then normal ones like did I (The US spouse) live in the US? What did I do for work? How did we meet?

Weirdly enough my husband got an interviewer who said we hadn't needed my parents to sponsor (I make only $25,000 per year... barely above poverty level). So it seems the financials at the moment completely just depend on who you get...

For those who have filed the Aus exemption - what did you use as proof to leave? @zochu @aus2tx

    Congratulations!!

when his passport arrives it’ll come with a letter from the embassy to send to BP. It’s really easy now and those issues from months ago shouldn’t happen anymore

Hubby is now with me in the States! For those with or having a LAX POE, the immigration process was about 5 minutes long. Customs was also quick minus a delay due to the baggage carousel breaking down. Wishing everyone speedy interviews and safe travels! The planes were all booked to capacity so there wasn't any social distancing, which was not ideal, but he made it here!

Congratulations!!! We are also flying in through LAX

thanks for all of your advice and help, and thanks for letting us be part of your journey as well! Many well wishes for you both!

Hi @aus2tx  congratulations on getting your Visa.  Could you keep us informed about the travel exemption?  Do you know if any immigrant travel exemption requests are being declined?   It seems getting the expedite and interview is only part of the stressful process.  Next comes the travel exemption and flight bookings!!!

We got an approval to leave like within 24 hours. Super quick and easy, especially with the consulate letter

Hello! So you didn’t need to email the Sydney embassy for the expedite ? And how long did it take for your case to get from USCIS TO NVC

I had a very drastic process for no reason

i emailed NVC (nvcexpedite@travel.state.gov). Took a week to be acknoweged and a week to be approved. Took about 1.5 weeks to go from NVC to Sydney. Interview was scheduled for 2 weeks later. We were delayed due to eMed issues with the consulate, so another 2 week delay.

all in all, took about 1.5 months from when we applied for the expedite to getting our visa in hand. Which isn’t BAD, just unexpectedly

    longer than other experiences here

where are you in the process? Still waiting on NOA2?

  5. @MissOphelia Isn't it SO NICE when you're just rIGHT THERE???? I hope your passport arrives quickly! It took 3 days for the passport to be delivered to Sydney CBD -.-

@ChelseaLAllen JK you're a K-1, no you won't be passed around between the two. It'll be a yes or no, and if yes, you'll be moved to the consulate for your interview.

I feel you on that it's always something!! It's literally always something! Actually, because of what you guys are going through with the medical delay, we asked for a later interview date to try and have extra time for that medical to get to the consulate!

It’s fixed now, of course lol! You’re scheduled for the end of the month, right?

Grrrrrr after rejecting my Expidite back in February got an email this morning saying my Expidite has been approved and all my stuf has been sent to Sydney 😡😡😡

hate immigration... left hand never talks to the right... my stuff is meant to be getting sent to New Orleans 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

FWIW the consulate responds to emails in a very timely manner. But man, I feel for you!! Keep us updated

Were you at the consulate today? I think you were 2 people in front of me hahah

our interview was on the 18th! We got notice on our delay via email request. I don't think my husband stopped by the consulate today haha

That said, we do think we crossed paths with Entheos at the interview!

Hi aus2tx. Congratulations on getting your expedited case approved. May i ask on what ground and if i can get a template?? I m thinking about requesting one for my hubby. Thanks

There's no real body template I can give you, except for just to type a compelling reason. If you'd like to type something up I can look it over for ya

If you’re wanting to file for an expedite, the email is NVCExpedite@state.gov, and we also put our case info at the start of the email.

Oh my goodness! I know someone else who interviewed 18/8 and they are also having “technical issues” with the medical 🤦‍♀️

Ohhh very interesting. Do you know if they also had their medical in Sydney?

@GiggsMcGill @Sharni - “We are still unable to access the medical exam that was submitted  by the panel physician. We have already been in contact with our IT department in the US to have this issue fixed. No further action is required on your behalf.”

So submitted, but unable to be read. Whatever, I guess... what’s another week, amiright? 💁‍♀️
