Thanks for providing this stats and congratulations!
We sent our AOS package 2 days after you, and are still waiting for NOA...
Thank you ! According to my stats you should be receiving the texts any day now (or night, technically, I got mine around midnight).
I wish you the best of luck !

Got the notifications in texts finally ! So here's my timeline :
04/22 : Sent applications to USCIS
04/24 : Applications received by USCIS
05/20 : Received text notifications
However, the check hasn't been cashed yet, but I'm in no rush for that.
Good luck everyone !

I was expecting at least a three week wait time, but got a surprise.
AOS packet posted May 1st, signed for by USCIS on May 5th. Got the text message notifications with my case numbers (for the I-485, I-765, and I-131) at 9:23 PM on Sunday, May 10th (!) and they cashed my cheque the next day.
Wow ! Another story that makes me feel more anxious and envious, thanks

Yes! Mine was received on April 23,2020 and I have not heard from them. My checks aren’t cash as yet.😩
Our check hasn't been cashed either and seriously it is starting to freak me out a little bit though of course they say we shouldn't start worrying until it has been past 1 month. Keep us posted please on any update

Anyone on the same page ?

Hey people,
I'm stumped about what the I-944 is asking. To get any credit report in the US, you need a SSN. My wife and I didn't get her one in the beginning because it didn't seem worthwhile (you don't get to work with it, and you don't need it for health insurance). So obviously she isn't going to have a credit score.
Can she just sign a self-written affidavit saying she has never had a SSN in the United States and therefore has no reportable credit? I get asking about use of public benefits, but asking someone applying for permanent residence for something usually only people who are already permanent residents or citizens have seems like a really dumb thing, to be honest.
My husband and I have the same exact question

Exactly as stated here, my wife got her Social Security Card within the 90 days for K-1, but she got it in maiden name, we filed the I-485 in her married name, after the EAD/AP arrived we went back and got the Social Security Card changed to married name. Once you get the EAD/AP/Green Card in you can go around and start making all the changes to everything into last name.
Thank you for response

When you complete the form, just enter your married name. You will be issued your EAD/AP and Greencard all with your married name. Then all the state and federal services will acknowledge the name change and re-issue as needed.
Thank you ! We were thinking that but weren't really sure.

I just married my US Citizen spouse. I want to take his lastname. Social Security Administration told me to go to DMV. DMV told me to change it when I apply for Adjustment of Status with USCIS. However, I do not see a change of name form or section on I485. Does anyone know how I can change my lastname?

So.. we have the interview coming up shortly. I keep flipping between being worried something will go wrong and we won't get approved, and being excited because we are getting so close to being able to be with each other!!
How did you all try and stay calm in the roller coaster run up to the interview?! 🙂
I've been keeping myself entertained with the 90 day fiance show - it's so funny!
I had a conversation with my fiancè few days prior to the interview on what we would do in case the visa was rejected and we came up with a backup plan which reassured me that K1 didn't work, we would still be together. It was this reassurance that calmed me down

Hi, I was wondering the same thing, but our case status has been “Ready” since November 14. Do you know how long typically the embassy will send the email to my fiancé after our case is received? I’m just worried that we’re missing something and make the process longer than it should’ve.
We share similar timeline ! Our case status has been "Ready" since Nov 14, too, I thought I should say hi

The embassy in Jakarta will e-mail you, the petitioner, when they've received the application. It will say the following:
In order for us to update beneficiary’s data, please inform the following information as soon as possible;
- Beneficiary’s update mailing address in Indonesia
- Beneficiary’s email address
- Beneficiary’s contact number
After you give them that info, the embassy will reach out to your fiancee.
This is really helpful. Thank you so much !

How the visa application process is done varies by embassy, there is not a generic answer.

It might be since each embassy/consulate has a different process.
Thank you !

I received an email from the NVC addressed to my fiance stating they received my approved I-129F petition from USCIS and they will send this petition to the embassy where my fiance lives, which will take a couple of weeks. It goes on to say that my fiance should “learn how to apply for a K visa” by visiting their website. I just want to make sure I am not getting ahead of myself by asking my fiance to apply for the visa now. I believe I am supposed to wait for a mailed letter before I ask my fiance to apply. Does anyone have some guidance on this? Do we wait for a mailed letter and for the embassy to contact my fiance before applying for the visa, or is this the letter, which came via email, that lets us know to apply now ? Any input will be greatly appreciated.
