  1. Hi again VJ Community! I just want to clarify something. The discussion was mainly about having the 2 year gc and extension letter nullified if the case says new card is being issued (the 10 yr gc). Is this true?

I will be travelling out of the country while my gc is not expired yet but I'll be using my then expired gc and extension letter to come in. If at any case, while I'm not in the US and my new card comes, can I still use my 2 yr gc and letter to come in? Or would they be expecting me to have the 10 yr gc? Has anyone tried this?

    Thank you for any replies!

  2. Now, I'm worrying about how fast this is all going. I know it's weird but hear me out.

So I just read that if the 10 yr GC is being produced, even if you have not yet received it, the 2 yr gc and extension letter becomes void. With the rate that my case is going (I'm happy it's fast tbh but..) I might be in another country (I'm out of the US, July 28 til Sept 12) when they send my 10 yrs gc. And I can't use my 2 yr gc and letter to come back into the US! I'm so worried now..

The only thing I was thinking is having someone mail my 10 yr gc to me from here in the US if it ever happens. But do yiu guys think it's such a risk?

    Hello All,

I have just received this morning the Biometrics appointment letter... and it is for June 30th (when I am in France).

I will try to walk in next week when they open, otherwise try to reschedule it.

    🤔

Hi! So it did fall on a day you were away. I also got my bio appointment let34bt5er today. Scheduled for 6/28!

Good luck on the walk in! 😊

  4. Hi VJ community! I just sent my ROC last May and got an MSC case number. So most likely, the service center time wouldn't be that long but the field office wait would be longer (by reading all the threads). I was wondering where I can find the processing times for the field offices? And do they base it on your zip code? I'm in the middle of Sacramento and San Francisco, so I'm not sure where they'll send me..

    Any input would help! Thanks!

Right, often they use the ones taken for AOS again, but even if you'll get an appointment letter for biometrics, you can reschedule- i don't think, they do walk-ins 🤔you might call there and ask

What I saw from other threads is you can do walk-ins as long as you have an appointment for a future date. Am I making sense? Lol! I've seen people post e.g. Bio appointment: 2/28, Bio taken: 2/20. Something like that

Not N400, that link is is only for "lifting conditions (I-751) Timeline" :)

Most people (at the National Benefits Center) seem to have their Biometrics around one month after their NOA1.

My NOA1 is May 31rst, so I can imagine the appointment to be around June 30th, and I'm leaving on the 19th... arffff I hope I have time to do it before, or to postpone it in August (but I think you don't get to choose, right?).

Anyway, I will stop thinking about it too much and we'll see.

    Take care you all :)

Oh I see the headline Lifting Conditions. I was looking at the timelines and it had "N400 filing, N400 bio etc."

Yeah, don't think much about it. It'll work out fine! 😄

My extension letter is for 24 months as well! Yay! I checked the link @Alix64, you are correct, almost 1-2 months after NOA1 for the biometric. When I checked Nebraska, I found out quite a few from 2021 fillers don't have the Biometric appointment listed, not sure if it get waived or they did not update them..

Congrats! The biometrics mostly depends on the previous type of visa that you have. And I think that if you have had it taken like during your AOS, then they just reuse it.

Like you (CR1) I'm sure I will have the Biometrics (btw what is it exactly? what is it for, what kind of questions do they ask you, etc).

When I follow the link https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/liftlist.php?cfl=0&op1=2&op2=&op3=&op4=3&op5=5,9,10,11,12&op6=National Benefits Center

and if I select National Benefits Center, almost EVERYBODY has the Biometrics appointment.

I hope I can postpone it, because my trip to France has been planned in a long time and I never get to go on holidays.

Yeah! It's what I noticed in the thread here with MSCs. They get the bio letter within the two months and the appoinement is around 2 months after filing. By the way, the link you sent shows N400?

Well, is it on late June? Maybe you can go before your appointment then.

I see that a lot of people get a Biometric appointment around 2 months after receiving their NOA1 but I have bought flight tickets to visit my family late June, for 6 weeks... 😳

I'm actually stressing over the biometrics appointment that's why I searched and many have went before their appointments so I'm going to do that cause I'm also travelling on the end of July, just exactly 2 months after sending my file! 😆 I'm sure I will get the bionetrics since I went in through CR1, I haven't had any biometrics taken unlike K1s or other visas.

Quick question; where did you send it to when using UPS? I know the address is on the USCIS site, but several pages said to put the ATTN: I-751 first, which would be above USCIS. Do you remember how the address looked like when you sent it? The information I find is at odds with what USCIS is writing.

I mailed it as it is shown on the USCIS site which is this:

    USCIS
    Attn: I-751 (Box 21200)
    1820 E. Skyharbor Circle S
    Suite 100
    Phoenix, AZ 85034-4850

So USCIS is above the attn. 😊

Long time lurker, first time poster. Not very excited to be starting this process again.

    Mailed via Fedex: 5/20
    Received by USCIS: 5/23

Notification & Credit Card Charged: 5/25

    Have not received NOA1 yet....

Hi there! Welcome! Well, isn't it always exciting with USCIS? Lol!

    Where is your service center?

Well, waiving the interview would be amazing! But I have no issue doing another one,if I have to. Good luck to all of us🍀😃

I haven't done any interview here in the US. The only interview I've done is the embassy interview. They said you'll at least have one (like for those who have done in AOS, they wont do it again). So I'm also preparing myself for the possibility of an interview.

  12. 5 hours ago, Caligirl1 said:

Oh,that's possible. When I did AOS I had biometrics taken.Could be different with CR1

    Oh yeah! I keep forgetting you aren't CR1! 😆

It looks like the recent trend they are waiving the Biometric and no interview. Hopefully we are one of the lucky one! :) Anyway, either way is fine with me.

Oh I see that you're K1. They usually waive the prints for K1s! 😊

Hello everyone! Finally I am back in this forum, after 2 year off on Conditional GC lol.. I submitted my ROC on May 23rd by UPS (not as thick as others, only 200 pages  -2.5lbs lol), it get delivered at Elgin Lockbox on May 25th. Today, May 31st I got a pending Credit Card Charges from Elgin Lockbox and this afternoon I received a text message with LIN case number. Hopefully won't be too bad for Nebraska, from USCIS approx. 17.5 months. Patiently waiting for my NOA1 letter.

Welcome! We almost have the same timeline! Sent it on the 23rd, got a text on the 27th, got check encashed today 31st and got NOA letter today 31st.

Honestly, I'm surprised that the average processing time is about 10 months. I was certain, I'll apply for citizenship while I-751 is still pending- cause that actually would speed up that adjudication, because they can only work on the  N-40] if the conditions are removed.usually you'd have just 1 combined interview: first with your spouse, about removing conditions and then alone,to do the civics and language test . We'll see ,how fast it is going to go.....🤷‍♀️

Oh really? I was just thinking I would want to hold on to something like a card rather than just a paper. Lol! Since if I would not wait for the 10 year green card, then it would be longer. But yeah, we'll see! 😊
