My status just updated this morning saying card is in transit. Hooray!

I must have received about 5-10 updates from the USCIS which went to my spam box, but nothing updated online until this morning. The officer did mention that there were various updates that needed to be made, so maybe those e-mails were each form being updated based on the changes that were discussed.

    Hi everyone
Had interview yesterday 21st October in Newark, NJ. Applied back in July 2019 whilst based in NYC.

Interview was scheduled for 8.30am, by the time we arrived at 8.10am there was a queue of people outside of the building. Funny looking at everyone and their stacks of documents. Don't be one of the people who clearly don't read the instructions that says be there 15 minutes before your appointment. Many in the queue were refused entry because they were too early.

Get through security (takes 5-10 min, line moves quickly). Typical airport type thing. They prioritize the next appointment time.

Get to 14th floor (there are toilets). We then check in at the desk, they get your original files out which was amazing to see after almost 18 months. Then sit and wait until you are called by the officer assigned to your case. We waited 15-20 minutes. Officer we got was probably the nicest/friendliest looking one out of all the ones that we saw (i'm sure the others are friendly too). The officer was extremely friendly, made lots of small talk, took us to the 3rd floor and then told us to wait 20-30 minute while she reviews our case. 15 minutes later she calls us in, is very complimentary around the preparation and organization, said it was the best that she had seen (all credit to my wife). Talked about how attorneys are a waste of time & money. We then sit in the office for 20-30 minutes and walk through all the changes needed to the application (e.g. change of address, change of jobs, kids etc). We provided the medical envelope and additional pictures which were all family orientated with our 1 year old.

Asked a bunch of questions such as: Where was your wife born, birth date, full name, where/how did you meet? From memory she didn't ask my wife all that much. Then went through a series of formal/serious questions around espionage etc etc.

Told us our case was approved and we will be getting the updates shortly, along with the greencard within the next 2-4 weeks.

Overall, a really good experience (not because of the result but the process was actually clear). What really humbled me was seeing the sheer size of the queue and the number of people in the waiting rooms. It can be frustrating waiting for updates but it's only when you see the amount of people involved it really helps understand how long things take.

Hell yeah! Notice of interview scheduled!
NYC Based, priority date of 15th July 2019.

    Questions:

How long does it take for the letter to arrive? Does the interview date exist anywhere online? How far out is the interview typically scheduled? What should I do for the medical records? Need to look into getting a official check-up asap!

    Hello all
Today marks my adjustment of status application anniversary. 😞

Since my EAD was approved I haven't paid much attention to what's going on with the rest of the process. Just checked my account to see:

Ready to be scheduled for Interview [17th September 2019]
    Interview Cancelled [16th June 2020]
Ready to be scheduled for Interview [16th June 2020]

    My location is Manhattan

    1) Should I re-apply for the EAD at this point?
    2) For those who have not done the interview and have been approved, did you submit your medical documentation too? My case is as vanilla as it gets,
    3) Is there anything that can be done to chase/accelerate this?

    Hello all,
No update yet, my priority date was July 10th. I have received a yellow courtesy letter reminding me that i did not submit a I-693.

Has anyone else received this? It might not mean anything, but i'm hoping it means a step closer to getting the important EAD / notification of interview schedule.

In regard to the I-693, i deliberately decided not to file this as i assumed the green card process would take longer than 52 weeks (after which the medical evaluation expires). Does anyone have any advice on when to think about finalizing this? Who to contact? Likely costs?

    Cheers
    Stankers Out
