Omg me too! I’ve been trying to meditate and to lower my anxiety level over the exam!

From the reviews I’ve read here it looks like they often tell you if you’re approved at the interview but I wouldn’t count on it as a guarantee in case they want to check on something first. Also as far as I know the passports HAVE to be mailed. I had thought about sticking around Montreal too but because it can take up to two weeks (or as little as two days) to be mailed I didn’t want to be stuck there waiting.

Has anyone done their medical exam yet? I haven’t been to the doctors in so long (stupid fear of mine) and just want to mentally prepare for how in depth the physical exam is? Any info would be appreciated ♥️

Me. Again. I leave for Montreal in 8 days so prepping everything!!
My fiance (petitioner) is with a bank that has no physical branch locations (so modern lol). He's unable to get the bank letter for the I-134 supporting evidence. I've been looking through other threads but want to check with the recent Montreal people that this should be enough supporting evidence:
1) Employer Letter
2) 2017 tax return & 2018 extension filing
3) Year's worth of bank statements with deposits & current balance highlighted
Am I missing anything? I'll include his mortgage agreement under proof of US residency.

I just booked mine with Dr. Lyndon Mascarenhas. I filled out the form online then booked an appointment with the clinic via email. They need 10 business days to get your medical ready. My appointments on September 25th & they gave me an August 27th medical.

Thank you but for our category as spouse of a USC, we don’t schedule our interview. All we can do is wait for NVC to schedule us and we dont know when. 3months they did not schedule interview dates.

They opened up on the 26th of July for September, at that point I had been like refreshing the page every hour - and for the K1 visas they only had appointments available on the Wednesdays for the month of September - 11th, 18th and 25th. They opened them up around noon, or like 12:30pm-ish. And from other's experience, the appointments went fast! My advice would be keep checking every day, but in the last week of August, amp up the amount of times you hit refresh every day that week!

No. I am CR1 but with how Montreal is moving, I bet I will be IR1 by the time I get the interview.
Thank you so much for your reply. We (CR1and IR1) thought other visa caregories are being processed that is causing the delay in our category. But it seems they are really slow for all categories in the past few months.

I went to Staples and got 8 print outs of the same picture, 2 for the interview and 6 for the medical (since they can't print just 5). It was $60 but super quick and easy.

I think it says in P3 or P4 to allow at least 4 days between the medical and appointment. I'd ask the clinic when you're booking. I'm doing mine in Montreal and they said to allow a week based on how long it usually takes at their office. So my medical is Sept 4 and interview Sept 11. Also it costs $470 CAD...!!!

Hey everyone, in regards to the affidavit, if you go to the I-134 form instructions on the uscis website it says that you need the letter from the bank with the present balance, date account was opened and total amount deposited in the last year. Along with that you need the letter from the employer dated 30 days prior to the interview with the type of employment and salary. My fiancé and I got these, although everyone who writes reviews says that they’re only asked for the 2018 tax transcript or tax return. So along with those bank docs we have a copy of his 2018 tax transcript and 2018 tax return. I feel it’s better to have too much than not enough.

In regards to affidavit of support do we need to bring more than the actual affidavit, w2, tax return, and a letter from his employer stating position and salary?
I know people are talking about bringing pay stubs and bank statements as well but are those required? Or just extra evidence?

Sometimes there is a program associated with payroll that the employee can access electronically, or they can ask the HR/Payroll department for a paper copy of the pay stub. For example, my work uses a program called PayWorks, and I have direct deposit, but I can also log onto the PayWorks website and print any pay stub I want from any pay period. Maybe he has access to a similar site? If not, I'm sure he can contact HR and have them print or email him whichever pay stubs he requests! I know my fiance also has direct deposit and he doesn't know how to access his pay stubs either, so maybe the online portals are just a Canadian thing. He is going to contact HR and see if they can send them!

From everything I’m read online, it’s a non issue. As long as you have an interview booked, your file is considered active. The expiry date is really no fault of ours and a few others that have had expired ones at the interview said the officer didn’t care at all and just extended it.

Now that most of us have interview dates coming up...
What supporting documents will you bringing along with your I-134 (Affidavit of Support)?
I know we need to bring my fiances tax summary for 2018...but do we need 2017 & 2016? What other document should I bring? Recent pay stubs, W2s? Do I really need a letter from the bank? What should it say? Getting confused about this part. If someone could share what they've taken in the past or what they're planning on taking that would be awesome so that we could all refer to it.

Personally I have gathered:
-a letter from his bank showing when he opened the account how much money is on it.
- his tax from from 2018 only
- his lease to prove his address (just in case)
-a letter from his job saying he is "full time permanent employee" with his annual salary
- his last few paystubs

Hey I just read on another thread that it’s an automatic renewal. Several people mentioned attending their interview in Montreal with an expired NOA2 and no mention was made of it. Just make sure your letter of intent to marry reflects the date of the interview and not the NOA2 expiry.
