  1. Id Like Some Opinions. I May Be Switching Jobs & Their Health Benefits Are A Little Pricey For Employee & Spouse Benefits (Just Employee Is Cheap) My Husband Is Waiting For His Green Card Interview. We Already Filled Out The I 1944 Prior With Proof Of Insurance. Will They Ask Again? Seeing If I Could Get Away With Only Covering Myself For A Short Amount Of Time Until He Can Start Working......Any Other Suggestions For Insurance?

  2. Can someone please help me?! My fiance had his medical in january in Nigeria and did not have the flu vaccine (I had no idea that it is supposedly required?....they didnt say anything) however, he had all other required immunizations and the sheet was marked as complete at the bottom. We will be filing AOS in May. Does this mean he has to have a whole new medical done by a civil surgeon just for a flu shot....? That sounds ridiculous to me. Anyone have any personal experience?

I concur that issuance is the key
But to me, I can't use that as my test case since the case was in the system prior to the ban- tho what you said might be correct as well.

I more want to see someone go to interview after ban, get approved AND issued. That will confirm the K-1 situation.
    We hope for the best

Tho I believe someone already brought up this issue
if one comes to the U.S. on a K-1 visa, would they still be eligible for AOS? Or would they be disqualified... so many questions.

Just to share what someone said today. I do not believe K1s are impacted either.

I know that's the procedure.   BUT there is a ban in place. Don't you get it? The ban said no visas should be "issued" so at this point no one knows what's really happening because no one on here has had their visa issued after Friday.  So Ap  may mean visa approved but will be issued after The ban is lifted. Just like those who were interviewed this week and those in other visa ban countries. They get approved and put in Ap till further notice. As of now we don't know if visa issuing is at a total halt. This    is a presidential order . So Have faith but Keep your mind open and be realistic

No one knows if k1 will be affected and I am just holding onto hope that since everything took place before the ban he may be an exception. I am very well aware of the ban and the procedures. I am being realistic and open minded. I understand there may be a chance he wont get issued till its lifted but I'm keeping my faith and positivity that he will!

Don't worry itl be approved .    ignore any negative comments. we can only be positive at this point. I saw someone else whose own turned to Ap. Many people think that's because of the ban and it may stay on Ap till the Ban is lifted . I like your positivy.  When your fiance gets his issued itl give us hope that cases concluded before the 21st will still get issued. Fingers crossed

No. Its standard for everyone to go to AP on CEAC. It's part of the process for everyone. It has nothing to do with the ban. I know MANY people who were approved in Lagos and they ALL went application received to AP to Issued. You are thinking of the AP when someone gets a 221G. They are different. But thanks for the kind words, I will stay positive and inform everyone of the result.

I for one appreciate Greenbaum's input as I have learned a lot from his posts, including this one.  Sometimes the facts he states are things you don't wanna hear, and that's up to you if you choose to label that as negativity but I don't believe that was his intent with that comment.

Theres a way that you can go about saying things in a polite manner as well. To me it seemed like he just wanted to rain on someones parade but to each their own. It's over with. Move on.

My reply was done with factual information and I take offense that you would single me out as being negative. I didn't want you or others to think that because you stated that it was approved at the interview meant that it would be issued. I states a fact. Please read this link from one of the MODS.

    No thank you. 😊

Approval at interview means nothing. The issuance of the visa is what is needed for actual approval. We have seen some who were disqualified after the interview during the final adjudication stage when they were told they were approved at the interview. Just saying.

No one asked for your negativity on my post. I am very well aware that it does not mean visa issuance. My fiance will get his visa, thanks for your concern 😁

Visas are not approved until after the interview and administrative processing has been completed....hopefully, the ban will be lifted soon......Please keep us updated, because none of us really know, at this point, which visas will be issued...good luck.

I talked with an immigration attorney yesterday and he stated k1 will not be affected, but we will see.
