My (fully anecdotally) guess based on the google spreadsheet is that it is location of filer based. It appears that folks in the NE go to Vermont, mid-atlantic and  eastern south go to Potomac, Midwest goes to Nebraska, deep south to Texas, and west goes to Cali. That's based on the couple of dozen self reported data points on that file. There seem to be a few exceptions to that general rule, but to me it appears to be based on your filing location/local office.

Yes. I saw your image but didn't see it was for Potomac until I went back just now and got the same 20-22 months. At least that high end number is going down.

It has said that for several days. Before getting the receipt number through text I checked all of the possible locations and was hoping for Texas or Vermont. Got our second choice with an EAC receipt code. But Potomac has had an up to 11.5 years time range for over a week.  I'm glad to see that it was lowered tonight to 20-22 months..still too darn long though.

Ours was EAC, so Vermont service center. We live in CT.

Hello everyone! 

Mailed our 751 package on 7/22. Received text notification on 7/28 that the paperwork was received on 7/26 and our CC was charged the $680 the same day. 

Hopefully we all have fast approvals and no craziness to deal with.

The interview was back on Oct 7 - 

Spouse Beneficiary was e-fingerprinted and photographed. 

IO asked many questions of confirmation of the I-485 and 130. 

Went through a dozen or so of the "Have you ever"... (been a prostitute, axe murderer, etc) 

Asked where S.B's parents were

Asked if he had health insurance.

Asked for the medical exam folder

Asked if we wanted to share anything else. 

Asked us to identify photos we submitted with dates and locations and if we had any more photos to submit.

Asked us where and when we met.

I volunteered additional financial information (letter from employer, current pay stubs) but was told it wasn't necessary because or I-864 had already been approved. 

Gave us a notification that I'm financially responsible for S.B. until citizenship. 

I think what saved us a lot of hassle was how thorough we were with out initial packet. It weighed 2.5 pounds when we overnighted it to USCIS back in April. They never issued a RFE and it seemed like the interview was more of a required formality for us. A friend who went through the process a few weeks before us was asked a lot more personal questions - and she had a lawyer do her paperwork! I'm not sure if they didn't submit a lot of supplemental documents or if they just got a meaner IO...

Green card in hand today, 10/16/19! PD date 4/24/19 and Charlotte was the local office. Hoping for quick approvals for those still in the process!

And a special thanks to those who helped answer our questions during this whole ordeal! Y'all made it so much easier on us!

At 7:02 pm tonight the app and email notification came out that the I-485 card was being produced!

It was indeed the same officer. I went to high school with someone with the same last name and asked if they were relatives! He didn't know her but truthfully they had very similar features so I'm guessing a distant cousin or something! 

Another friend has her interview on the 26th and had a similar experience, although she hasn't responded if it was the same officer (she just said a white man when I initially asked her)!

I'm so glad to hear you're through this process - and had a positive resolution quickly. Until I see the notice I'm still nervous though! 

So today we had our interview in Charlotte. Got there super early for an 8 am appointment. Got called back at 8:05 and out the door by 8:30. A lot of form questions, not really that many about our relationship besides identifying locations and times of pictures we submitted. The agent was pretty friendly and even made a joke or two during the process which helped alleviate stress. In the end he didn't guarantee approval but said it was highly likely in the next week once it gets signed off by the supervisor. I know CLT is understaffed from friends who recently has interviews and were told similar things. So waiting with baited breath for the status to change on the web/app, or a letter to come saying approved, or even better the Green Card coming in the mail.

That one is odd. We never received a hard copy letter that the case was ready for interview. Just online/text/email notifications.

This is great! We filed about 3.5 weeks after you in Charlotte so it's helping us see the light at the end of the tunnel! 126 days since filing. Went to BofA last week to close the spouse's bank account since no direct deposits in several months and balance went below their threshold to trigger a $12 monthly maintenance fee. I've been with SECU for 15 years since my first "state" job and felt great telling BofA to shove it. What jerks though, hitting people when they are already down!

No EAD or AP yet. We didn't ask for expedited since we didn't believe we qualified based on USCIS criteria. It's been radio silence since May when we had biometrics letter and appointment. Then out of nowhere came the letter about the 693 last week. Now the status is changed in their system to ready for interview. Hoping 11-25 months in Charlotte magically becomes 108 days. Our luck couldn't be that good. 

At 5 am today we received the following email:

Nothing had changed in the system since our April 24 filing, but maybe that scary red letter about the i693 was a good sign last week. Either we will get the interview appointment soon or we will remain in "ready" for the next 11-25 months minus 108 days based on Charlotte processing times.

That's what we are hoping for as well. We did all the paperwork ourselves (no lawyer but I am a college professor and former city manager so I'm pretty familiar with bureaucratic processes). We are in a weird situation too because he has all the required shots and immunizations but his family can't find the documentation so we were planning on doing all the required medical things and getting the 693 signed off on as soon as they got us scheduled for a interview. 

Was a bit worried of a potentialchange of policy since we filed originally that perhaps they now require the 693 at time of 485 filing but looked at their updated forms from July and the language is the same effectively telling us not to file the 693 since it could expire before our AOS interview. So that was a "whew" moment. 

Our status hasn't changed since initial filing in April. Case was received 101 days ago for all 4 forms. No RFIE or any communication since May biometrics appointment scheduled and completed. I'm reading about people asking for expedited service due to extenuating circumstances but with my current faculty position earning enough for us both to live off of for a while and his savings we don't really qualify. But I'm very upset that when we filed the AOS timeframe was 7-15 months and now it's 11-25 for Charlotte. Nearly doubling the time for the green card. But if the 765 and 131 processing times have gone down if those get processed over the next few months all should be ok in our little world. But I know folks who filed in January who still don't have their travel or employment authorization documents and they used lawyers to file so I'm not holding my breath.

All 4 of our MSC numbers just show received (Apr 24) even though biometrics were done in May. Makes us nervous as all get out but not as nervous as the letter that came today from USCIS did until we read it! 

Just about had a heart attack today. Saw in the daily USPS informed digest email that a letter from USCIS was coming today. Checked the mail 5 mins ago and saw a letter on red paper (not a color I associate with good news). Open it up and it basically says we didn't send the medical evaluation form when we filed the 485 back in April. With AOS filings in Charlotte now taking upwards of 2 years, we decided to not do that until we got the interview scheduled so the form didn't expire (based on the old 1 year rule, now extended to 2). The letter caught me off guard though. Has anyone else gotten something similar?

May 24 (assigned date). No change of status anywhere since April 30th NOA1 date anywhere I can see.

Same here. Biometrics was nearly a month ago and nothing has been updated. Also in CLT field office territory.
