In the same situation as you are. Only received 1 appointment post re-opening. My card has already been mailed as of yesterday. I will let you know if it’s a combo card which I’m hoping it is since my I-131 has already been approved.
Ooh interesting, yes please keep us updated!

Sorry I’m sure this has been asked a thousand times but any advice is gratefully received.
I had 2 biometric appt letters for March, both cancelled of course. One was for I485 and I765, and one was for I131.
Since reopening I have received only a new biometric appt for the i485 and I765, and that appt was today. I asked the lady when I was there if they’d apply the same prints to my I131 and was told no, I’d have tomce
back when I get that appt.
I assume if I’d had my I131 appt letter she could have processed a second set of biometrics there and then? But I did not have that letter as it’s not been sent to me yet.
What have others’ experiences been?
1. TWO new appt notices received if applied for work auth and advance parole, both letters taken to first appt and only one visit needed
2. TWO new appt notices received if applying for work auth and advance parole and two trips made to the ASC
3. You’ve received one appt and not the other yet
I submitted a case inquiry for the i131 portion today as the processing time
for that is still up to 5 months, not 35 months like i765.

I was talking to USCIS over the phone regarding the I-485 application, family-based. I politely asked about my biometric that was scheduled in Chicago and canceled because of COVID. He said that processing time expected to be 3 years for everyone right now, and I will have enough time to do biometric. Probably i765 should be sooner, I don't know, I didn't ask specifically about this form, I asked about biometrics.
3 years it is crazy, they just destroying people's lives and time with all these things. I hope it will be sooner, I expected to have GC this year, and right now I completely disappointed how USA can be unfair. I will be calling them again on Monday in the hope to talk to another person. I think we all should call them, every day if need to make them do their work, or create some petition to protect legal immigration and make it fast.
The main thing you need to worry about now is your combo card, so the result of the I131 and i765. These will give you the right to work and arguably travel (although do your research on Advance Parole) while you await the GC. Assuming these are two of the things you most want to do, these should be you focus and you can’t get those without biometrics. The case processing time for these is roughly 6 months. Look it up on USCIS. If you filed in Feb you must be out of nearly out of the normal processing time in which case you can file an inquiry, which I imagine is infinitely more useful than calling. Also if outside of processing time , your congressman/woman may be able to help. Calling and asking for Tier 2 May help but it probably won’t, and in any case you shouldn’t rely on that as your only course of action. I imagine your rescheduled appt is on it’s way to you in the mail but in case not, here’s the link you need:

Hi, I have been a quiet reader. I'm a February filler who got biometric canceled because of COVID. Application support center in Chicago, I have two friends who already got appointments in the same location, both of them filled in June. One friend's filling date is June 25, and the biometric scheduled for August 26. I happy for them, I only don't understand why February fillers were left behind. On the web site, it says ' If you do not receive an appointment notice within three weeks, contact us'. I tried to contact them, and they say to wait 90 days, and that the processing time is 3 years.
We can't visit our family, we can't do anything, we just stuck. What is your service centre though? Are you looking up the processing time for the right form, i765? I don’t think any service Center has a 3 year lead time on an EAD? Check again, it should be 6 months max everywhere so if you filed Feb you should be able to submit a case enquiry already or next week surely?
I just checked all service Center processing times for you for i765 and none are 3 years!

Glad to see another UK Bentonville expat! Good luck with your biometrics, I had mine last week.
Fort smith is certainly different to Bentonville...Yeah I’ve had the good fortune to have to visit there before for another reason so I know what you mean....

For all the people contacting USCIS multiple times a week -
my case is not out of normal processing time til Aug 25 and my ASC only opened on Jul 27 so I’ve not been calling as i assume I actually have no right to any kind of assistance at this time? Has anyone actually found they are WITHIN processing time and their ASC only just opened, AND that calling made any difference?!
And for those on employment based visas before doing family based AOS, are any of you considering asking employer to file i129 to extend your stamp, even though AOS is pending? Is this a possible route? I may try to do this unless it’s a non starter.....
Edited to add my stamp has not expired yet but probably will before I get my EAD.

thats pretty normal for EB. USCIS is waiving biometrics for EB or they are getting it from some where else.
This isn’t an EB though, it’s FB AOS. So why the ref to EB?

Guys you can get EAD/AP approved without biometrics, there are thousands of people in this situation. You will not get the card though without biometrics (there very few exceptions, mostly non-NBC applicants). That is my situation too.
The role of RFE is questionable. From what I see, medical RFEs tend to trigger EAD/AP approvals but I would not state that as a rule
So you can get approved without biometrics but must have biometrics to get the card? What does this mean for the court ruling in the class action that they must produce cards 7 days after approval?

so USCIS uses a criteria called 9+2=100 and who ever qualifies they get EAD/AP without biometrics . Just kidding. I have received EAD/AP without biometrics. Its most likely that family based petitions need Biometrics to get EAD/AP while Employment based are getting EAD/AP without biometrics. Again its not a set criteria. so only LORD knows what they are doing.
Thanks for the information - and you’ve never had them taken before? Or have you had them taken before under some other guise? Crazy times.

Sorry for the dumb question but how are people saying their EAD is “approved” before they’ve had biometrics?
im still showing as Case was received for my Travel/EAD and have had no movement since my NOAs for 131, 485, 765 and 130 in early March and subsequent appointment letters for biometrics for late March which were of course cancelled.
I am waiting for an appt at Fort Smith AR ASC, they opened back up on 7/27 and nothing yet.
Should I call the ASC? USCIS? Is there any point or do i just wait?

HAPPY JUNE 4TH! Reopening of USCIS.
Office Closings: https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/uscis-office-closings
Filed AOS, EAD, AP in: Chicago, Illinois
Field Office should be: Imperial, CA
Both are not on this list so I hope to hear something soon. We've all been anxiously waiting 💛 #Hopeful #Goodluck2All
Hi, I’ve looked at the link above and don’t see my field office on there but when I look it up it doesn’t seem to be open either. Also I believe biometrics are handled by Application Support Centers all of which are closed. Can a field office also be an App support Center?

The Bloomberg article differs from other sources so don’t hang your hat on it. Whoever said they’ve read the EO must also be mistaken as to my knowledge it has not been released yet.

I think you might have forgotten to add the biometrics. I used american express as well and it worked without any issues.
G-1450 for credit card payment of $1,760 (Form I-485 @ $1,140; Form I-130 @ $535; and biometrics @ $85)
1760 is those 3 amounts added together. So no I did not forget biometrics.
Besides that was not the point of this post! I called USCIS and have the answer now about whether I can send the same forms back. I recommend everyone else on this forum do the same as it’s utterly useless!

You can send the same package back. Probably what you did wrong was authorize one transaction instead of two. Send two separate checks or you will get it back again. $535 and $1,225.
So I don’t need to refill out the forms With my newly acquired A - number on the first page of each? And the printing on the bottom won’t cause any issues?

I recently sent off my i485/i130/i765 etc packet, I am the wife of a US citizen and applying for adjustment on that basis. I sent a credit card authorization from, not a check. The whole packet was sent back to me saying either I filled in the credit card form wrong or my card was declined. American Express claim no transaction was ever attempted and I don’t see any mistake on the copy of my form (the original was destroyed) so that’s confusing.
Anyway I’m just going to resubmit with a check this time. BUT - all my forms and paperwork which were sent back to me have a line of print from a machine along the bottom now where they’ve gone through some kind of processing, AND I now have an alien number due to this failed attempt to file, which I did not have before.
So do I have to resend NEW copies of all my forms or can I just send the exact same forms back again but with a check this time?

My congressman will look at it for you if your case is outside of normal processing times. Appreciate those have recently changed but it’s always worth contacting them, the worst they can say is no.
