I finally submitted my application and it's updated on the Google doc, now I'm nervous about not sending in enough evidence 😬 I only attached our leases, joint bank account, insurance, tax returns... I hope that will suffice~~

Congrats on submitting! Try not to worry, you probably have all you needed. Many or maybe most of us tend to obsess over this stuff unnecessarily ☺ if you think of additional stuff you can always attach more under your document tab 🤗

    Hi all,

Just submitted my N400 tonight. I got my i751 approved March 1st and now onto the next step. I am located in the Boston area. Let's see how quickly this moves, I have heard stories from people we know that we were processed pretty quickly recently.

Awesome, good luck! Please add yourself to this group's timeline through the link below:-)

Hi, I just applied! :) I got a receipt for the payment  and I got the case number. I went to check it in the tracking system and it says: "Case Was Received and A Receipt Notice Was Emailed" . But nothing is emailed except the payment receipt. Also how do you guys access your documents?

Yay:-) On your dhs account https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

underneath your estimated completion date, there should be 3 tabs - the 3rd is documents. There will be a link for your receipt notice that you can click on for a pdf file. If it doesn't show up yet, just wait a few days and it will. I just was able to access mine today and I applied on 4/23. The system has been having issues. Also, nothing was emailed to me either, I think they just mean the pdf thing:-)

    I file N-400 on Apr 4,2019 (I-751 still Pending)

My friend helped me send package on Apr 11 (I was on the trip out of country from Apr 5-21)

They rcvd on Apr 12 (sent me a letter with Prior Receipt Date is Apr 12)

Biometric Letter sent on Apr 19

Biometric Appointment will be on May 7.

I wonder if I can come to do my BioMetric before the schedule date?

And How long you think it will for the whole N-400 process? or how long will until I have the interview since the BioMetric?

You can check processing times from your area here https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

and check vj timelines here https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/citlist.php?cfl=&op5=5,10,11

I don't know if you can do early biometric walk in in your local office. I know some offices allow it, so if you live close you can just try. I live 7 hours away from mine so I will not try it haha.

    Good luck!

@Vikingoutwest any way you could send me a screenshot of this document tab (obviously blurring out any personal info that may appear) or of the top of your myUSCIS page? I'm confused as I don't see anything like that on my page.

oh and when I click "My Cases", I'm sent to a page that lists all my cases, then when I click the receipt number for my n400, it gives me the following:

My page looks different from yours: here is a screenshot (sorry it took a minute, I'm not very computer savvy, and had to figure a way to get this to you lol)

Where is the "document" tab on myUSCIS? I literally only see a link to My Cases, and that's it (I mean, there are some general resources at the top of the page but they're unrelated).

On mine it goes: "Case status", "Case history", "Documents" . They are underneath the "estimated completion time/receipt number/submitted date" - what happens if you click on My Cases?

    yay!

I'm just curious about what you said about the error- when I log in and click "my cases", then "n-400", I get the:

    "Biometrics Appointment Was Scheduled

On April 27, 2019, we scheduled you for a biometrics appointment and mailed you an appointment notice for Receipt Number #. Please follow the instructions in the notice (...)"

That's all it is, it doesn't give me a link to try and click or anything. I was wondering where it was you clicked on the notice and got the error.

Then under "Case History" it still only says they received my application on 4/21, no biometrics update as of yet.

Yeah, that's the message I got too. I don't have anything to click on either. The error thing is for my receipt letter: under documents on the top it says "uscis notices", and under that I have just 1 "link" to a "receipt notice" - if I click on it to read it, it just gives me that error message "Error 500"

just this morning. I finally got my printed receipt letter in the mail yesterday, woke up this morning w/an email telling me to log into my account

I just got that same email! The website says they have scheduled biometrics - but I can't see when it is. I still don't have my receipt letter, and when I click on the notice on the website it shows "500 Error". I guess I just have to wait for the physical letter. But YAY we are scheduled 🙂

    Hi,

Can someone help me answer this?

    1. I have been married to a USC for about 6 years now, and I have my GC. I am planning to file n400 online this week. In the eligibility section questions, what should I choose, filing based on 5 year, or filing based on 3 yr married to a USC?

Not sure by choosing either, if it'll ask me for more or less documents.

    2. What documents are required? So I can start gathering them.

    3. Selective service: I was in US on F1 visa between Age 18 to 25. Do I select No to that question?

    Thanks.

    Hi @Numii

    1. I have been married to my US citizen spouse since 2004 - been in the states on green card since summer 2010. I just filed my n400 on 4/23 and I chose 5year eligibility. It is my impression that if you have been in the states legally for 5years then that is the rule you should apply under. I could be making a mistake though - so I would check plenty of sources before you decide!

    2. This is where you can find relevant info, there is a link to a document checklist on the right hand side of the page https://www.uscis.gov/us-citizenship/citizenship-through-naturalization

    3. I can't help you on this one - I am female and have not needed to look into the selective service issue

Good luck on your application! When you do apply, please come share your timeline experiences 🙂

Thanks, I checked out both.  USCIS is saying 9 to 19.5 months, the last entry for New Orleans in the VJ spreadsheet has a file date of March 2018, Interview Feb 2019...so 12 months.   Either way, looks like this might be a slow process.

Yeah, it does look like your service center is on the slower side 😕 In any case, 12 months is a whole lot better than 21! Crossing fingers for you 🙂

Jan 2021...sorry about that...I was so shocked when I saw that date, I don't think my fingers were working correctly!

No worries! I hope that is not the actual processing time, and I don't think it is. Hopefully those other resources will show you a more accurate estimate. I like the VJ timeline, because you can see exact dates that actions were taken on real cases from your area. All cases are of course different depending on how complex your situation is, but that timeline gives you a better idea for sure. Don't panic, once they review your biometrics I am sure the time will go down:-)

I was just able to log in to USCIS.....checked on my case that I filed last night......it says estimated completion January 2020 (21 months)....WHAT!!!! Really??????  Is this just a date they throw in there until I get my Biometerics done?

Does it say Jan 2021 or 2020? I think it is just a general estimate that will probably change after your biometrics - you can check https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/  for another estimate too. The first number will be for 50% of cases the second is for 93% of cases. There is also a timeline on VJ where you can compare to other filers from your service center area https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/citlist.php?cfl=&op5=5,10,11

  13. Is anyone else having issues logging in to uscis? I try to log in, then it looks like page is loading, but then it returns to login screen. Sometimes I can successfully login on the second try (and I am typing password and verification code correctly both times). Then if I do get in, I try to click on my receipt notice to read it, and get an error message...I can't open the notice. Is this happening to any of you guys?
