An Antigen test is fine for the US and will generally be much faster, cheaper and more widely availably than a PCR test.

Thank you for that! So the airport in Manchester has the Antigen test for 40 pounds before the flight but I was panicking! I didn’t want them to deny me going through customs. Do you know if the results given to us we just show it to them and that’s sufficient enough? Anyone who has traveled recently please share what you provided before traveling to USA.

  2. Hello to all, it’s been forever I’ve been on here. My visa process took forever and finally my Visa was issued. I’m sorry if this is a silly question but I’m so confused about the Covid testing required before traveling. The airlines I want to fly on are not answering phone! Ugh it’s so frustrating! Someone please help, I want to fly this weekend but struggling to find the answer to which type of Covid testing I need. The airlines says negative test required but which kind? I’m flying from Manchester to New York and stressed on where to go or who to contact. Travel agents said it’s a PCR testing required 72 hours in advance because results take a day or two? Hmmm Manchester airport has slots to book for antigen test, I see that what’s required...Please help? Thank you and I appreciate any advice and help I can get.

The petitioner's birth certificate should not needed at the interview. It's all about you and your civil documents, which need to be originals (or certified as originals). The only thing from her is her affidavit of support.

I have been through the entire entire process to being a citizen and nobody has ever seen an original of my petition/fiancé/wife's birth certificate.

    Thank you for the response!

  4. Hi Friends, wishing everyone the best on their process with uniting with there loved ones. I have a question regarding documents that needs to be provided at the day of interview. I apologize if anyone has already asked for help about this! I couldn’t find the answer anywhere so I came here for help:(

My child  is sponsoring me and currently  lives in US. She’s a US born citizen. She has her original birth certificate and I only have a scanned copy that I printed out. My question is- Can I provide a photocopy of her birth certificate? Or does she need to post certified copies of her birth certificate, passport or anything else? Please help if anyone knows? Much appreciated!

@Yannary & others waiting for London embassy: I called NVC on Friday and they told me that London is full for September. October interviews were not scheduled yet. Obviously, they are still waiting for embassy to send them available dates.

I was approved on 30 August and we were hoping that I'd be able to make it for step daughter's birthday. That's why I called NVC...

Hi, I’m waiting IL from London Embassy also. I’ve spoken to NVC few times and they mentioned that they have no way of knowing  when interview dates will be available as it’s another department?! So I’m confused on how they’ve  told you that?

My cc is August 19. A hurricane passed through the Bahamas early last week and the embassy announced some appointment cancellations so I would be waiting for IL a little longer than I thought.

Hi Blair, hope your ok! Super happy to be joining case complete forum as well! I have received DQ last week finally and hoping to receive IL soon 🙏 So Sorry for all that’s going on in Bahamas:( I’m glad your safe, stay strong my friend! Don’t worry your time will come soon enough. Best wishes to us all, god willing we receive wonderful news soon! 🙏

I'm so confused. My spouse and I have her dad as a joint sponsor, and he and his wife file taxes together and live in the same house and share all expenses, so we had my mother in law fill out the i864A, should we not be doing this?

We were 💯 sure we submitted the correct forms but we were wrong! Please read the website carefully or ask other members on here to be on the safe side. Good luck 👍🏼

It's super crazy. Especially considering if I actually have to resubmit something I won't be done before December.

I agree it’s very scary! Best of luck to you too!

Honestly I suggest you ask friends on here as it’s a bit confusing! My family members live in the same house too but I believe it has to do with filing taxes. If they filed separately or together.. etc... Good luck to you!

Can I be nosy and ask why you had to resubmit the form?

I'm still waiting for a case number, but I'm trying to understand what can go wrong, just to be prepared!

Your doing the right thing, not being nosy just better preparing yourself! I wish I’ve done that I would of been in US by now I think.. lol 😂

I made a mistake by submitting I-864A form and it needed to be I-864 only for joint sponsor:) We thought a family member belongs in the category as household member but we were wrong!

Be sure to read USCIS gov. site carefully before submitting forms. Good luck to you 👍🏼

Submitted July 27th and still no review. Anyone close to this time had their info reviewed yet?

Ugh this whole process is so sad! I’ve had to re submit a form on August 1st and anxiously waiting:( I’ve called NVC yesterday and after being on hold for over an hour they only told me what I already knew! Which is.. they’re working on cases dated July 19 :) lol 😂She was not nice at all, I couldn’t get any information from her! She said what she wanted to say and hung up on me 😳 I believe someone from here got DQ last week and they submitted July 24th... So I’m so confused on how they process cases! I pray our time comes soon!🙏🏼

Oh no, so sorry you’ve come across another difficulty! I was hooting for you too! Turkey has very strict guidelines with all legal documents! Hopefully it won’t take as long this time! Finger crossed 🤞

    @Snd @OneHappyMamma

Finally got DQ email today! So I got 2 emails. One said to check ceac I have a message and the other says notice regarding your case becoming documentarily qualified. The message in ceac was just to say the same.

    Case received: 29 May

    Case number: 14 June

    First submission: 23 June

    Resubmission: 18 July

Case escalated to supervisor: 9 August

    CC: 19 August!!!

So about 6 business days after escalating to supervisor for me to hear back. They are working on cases submitted 15 July now so I don’t know if it’s just within normal timeline or if escalating to supervisor helped but I’m thinking it didn’t hurt. Super happy!

Yeyyyyy bravo 👏 Super happy for you! Hopefully soon we’ll join you as CC- This made my heart happy 😃 Congrats to you!

"There are three ways to submit documents to NVC. The method you use depends on where you are interviewing and the letter you received from NVC. Look at your NVC case number, the letter you received from NVC, and match it to the method below to find out how to submit your documents to NVC."

This is from the official website:
    https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/collect-and-submit-forms-and-documents-to-the-nvc/step-6-submit-documents-to-the-nvc.html

And yes, I 100% agree with you that everyone should go at the same speed. It's very frustrating to not know how things go.
And I understand what you are going through because I was at Nebraska office at the USCIS stage, and our case took 11 months to get approved while people who applied in other offices took 6 - 7 months. So I know exactly what you are going through. Waiting for an Email every day.

Your awesome 👏 Thank you, it makes sense to me now. Ugh all these service centers work so differently- sorry yours landed at Nebraska :( Really glad your at the next stage! I guess in the end it’s all in God’s timing... I just need to be more patient and accepting of this stressful process:) good luck again 🙏🏼

    Thank you very much.

No my case hasn't been expedited. I was surprised how I heard back from them early too.

I had a theory that maybe it is because of my Priority Date which is 5 June 2018. But someone from this thread said that them too have an early PD and it wasn't the same case for them.

So I have another theory that it might be because I submitted my documents through Email. I haven't seen so many people here who were requested to send their documents via email. Most people were able to submit through CEAC. So that could be the reason why.

Again those are only theories, I was just trying to understand why was I lucky (no complaints of course).

Wishing all of you best of luck!

Thank you for responding:) Sorry I didn’t know people emailed docs anymore! I guess every country is different. Regardless they need to have a better system so everyone goes at the same speed, just my opinion off course rather then getting us frustrated and confused 🤷‍♀️ Thank you for wishing us luck! 👏

We sent the marriage contract instead of the marriage certificate. (Which I think is something specific to the country we got married in)

We got married in a third country (Lebanon) where both of us were not familiar with the procedure. So, we did the marriage contract at the religious court. But we skipped the step of registering it with the ministry of interior because we didn't know we were supposed to do that. (And the employees at the court told us we are done and we just need to translate the contract and certify it from ministry of foreign affairs, but apparently they were wrong).

I had to travel back to Lebanon to do the registration and get the correct marriage certificate this time. Certified from both ministry of interior and ministry of foreign affairs.

Hopefully, you won't face any similar problems.  And you won't get RFE. Good luck!

Wow Congrats! Your case moved super fast at NVC stage:) Hope you don’t mind me asking, Was it expedited?

I’m super confused on how NVC works?! So many people at NVC stage including me wait nearly a month to get docs reviewed and if anything needs to be re submitted we have to get back in the line to be reviewed again- which can take up to another 3 weeks. :( Something’s really wrong here! I’ve called NVC numerous times and they’ve all said it takes up to 3 weeks or longer. Anyone who reads this please explain the logic to this?

    Again congrats to you!

    Hello

We waited 4 weeks for NVC to review a rotated scan of my passport..... so frustrating! hope your docs get reviewed soon! x

Hi again :) Thank you so much! I’m praying 🙏🏼 too! I’ve seen some people get there docs reviewed in a matter of few days and some wait weeks :( I can’t seem to understand that! I really hope you receive IL soon!!! Please keep us posted:) xx

Finally we are joining the club after so much waiting:

    PD: 07/09/2018

    DQ: 07/16/2019

    IL: 09/03/2019

    🎉

Excited and nervous about the interview though.

    That’s awesome, congrats to you!

I hope you don’t mind me asking, how long did you have to wait for NVC to accept everything after resubmitting? We had the same issue with the forms. Ugh it’s so frustrating! Thank you

    Hello

Are you saying you were informed you were DQ and now the system is saying Incomplete? Hmm.. Have you phoned them?

Hi, no I didn’t receive DQ yet:( After speaking to NVC, I apparently submitted the wrong AOS form and it got rejected and we’ve had to submit the correct form I-864 joint sponsor rather then I-864A. We were misguided unfortunately! After requesting to delete the household member, there was a glitch that caused few original submitted forms to be  missing:( So we re submitted and added the correct AOS form and now praying all goes well. :) Good luck to you, hope you receive great news soon!
