We've talked about it, I can't extend too far because of work, we decided that if its a case that whatever needs to be sorted out cannot be, then i'll go home and wait for him. but we're not gonna rush it. if he's not coming up til april or later, then a suh, its prolly for the best, yadda yadda.

Definitely that is why I came home but I’ll go back next week so we can come back together

Ok great, I know just the bag I'll carry. Now to figure out what I'm wearing lool

Girl, tell your husband to dress comfortable and you do the same!!! People go there like they going for a job. The key thing is to be presentable. No suits required. Personally I had on some leggings with a shirt and put my long throw like sweater on and some Toms.  I found to to be very comfortable both in and out of the building!  My husband had on jeans and a polo.

You know I was wondering about my bag, had just sucked up that id prolly just go with a little wristlet or something lol. Thank you for all your help

Yeah girl you can carry a purse but no backpack.  Either way if you can’t carry it in, there is a lady that will be directly across the street that you can leave it with and she gives you a ticket or something.

Look at God. But I am proud of you being proactive. Just think if you just sat expecting something to happen. Glad you woke their tails up.

    Congratulations. Sooooo happy for you.

Thank you so much! I have learned that you have to be on this process because a closed mouth doesn’t get fed.  I could be waiting till summer or fall of this year if I didn’t!

Now I can sit back and relax, kinda! 😅

Yep I'm going, I don't think I could manage waiting outside lol. I really can't wait but so far we've been pretty calm about it

Yes that is all you can’t do, besides you will be able to sit back and watch other people and see what not to do! You are allowed a purse so I suggest something big enough to put all the papers in.  Makes it easier, on my opinion.

No for Petitioner background checks are done at USCIS. They just slow slow there. It's Jamaica laid back. But they taking this to a whole new level. LOL

I definitely believe that!! I spoke to the receptionist yesterday and she was pretty much saying, why are you calling me.  I wanted to jump through that phone because I am like you are useless, even if you cannot/will not answer me, you can still pretend by saying something more pleasant.

I was just meaning all the different investigations that can take place. name search as in checking the data case for bad people if your name hits as someone who's in the data base it has to be researched further to make sure you aren't that bad person.

Yes approved can mean a visa but CO's have changed their minds. A supervisor has overruled them, some information comes in that nullifies your visa.

You aren't approved until  really you land in US and processed and stamp. There have been people with Visa's turned away and sent back because of things found after interview

oh wow that is interesting!!! Now that you said that, I think I may be the reason why my husband's case is taking a little longer.  I work for the Government and I require a high level security clearance.  Although he is already on the clearance information, they probably had to do their further research!!

No no don;t worry. It's good didn't mean to scare you. I am sure it was like you said "Dang we need get off our butts". Especially on an approved case were they saving it for a souvenir goodness.

I promise good news is forthcoming.

:dancing:Thanks so much!!!!  You know I am a bit emotional, I was about to cry.  I just started binge eating a whole bunch of ginger chews trying to not think about it.  Girl you know at almost six weeks I don't want/need any stress.  I still got 34 weeks give or take to go.

Well for you this is not normal AP since your interview was over 1 month ago. They might have gotten and update, new information name search and they have to check deeper .

Everyone after interview goes into AP but it's never more then 2 to 5 days for normal processing. Since you said you were approved this seems odd. I have know of a few cases they were told at interview they were approved and then things changed and AP and well not good.

Praying for the best in your case.

Now I am worried!! Thanks so much we need the prayers!

Ooh! Maybe this means that they realized they left you in limbo and are covering their asses by giving you an update. I'm taking this to be a good thing, and I really feel like his passport is now on its way!

Thanks @DKing, I truly believe they got off their butts because not only did I call, but I emailed them again on yesterday and asked what our status was as we were not informed of administrative processing as well as its been over 5 weeks since our approval.  They even updated our case again yesterday as to our previous update that was completed on 1/21.  I hope this is it as I have a dog to bring !

  11. Good morning Everyone!!!

I hope this is good news for my husband's case.  So on last week I noticed an update on his visa but it never changed from Ready.  This morning I logged in and there was an update made from yesterday.  I am assuming it is a response to my email I sent on yesterday asking what was the updates made on my husband's visa.  It currently says "Administrative Processing."   The body of the status on CEAC says

"Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days."

My take away is that the bolded part applies to me and that my husband should be getting his visa in two business days.  What are your thoughts?  @dwheels76 I think you are the most knowledgeable of this.

    Thanks,

    Solitaire

7 to 10 business days is the norm there. But Jamaica also at times drags along. But no a month is not normal accept for AP beneficiaries.

That is what I I was reading as well and we anticipated getting it back close to the New year or the next week.
They told us that we were not in AP but no one can tell me what is taking it so long for them to give him back his passport.
They last looked at his case on the 21st so I am assuming it will be 7-10 business days from that now.
