I feel like when my fiance was requested for updated medical we felt so hopeful..i still am but it really pulls you apart. 

Before we were asked, we were honestly expecting to wait even longer and we put it in the back of our heads. We were planning for other ways to be together. Go to a different country or something. Then alhamdullilah this happened and now we re back to just thinking about it every day of every minute..except really on the weekends when we know the embassy is closed...

Allah please have mercy on us. This is really draining. 

Really we were so hopeful when embassy requested to redo medical but it's been almost 2 months it's really worrying why did they request another medical when they have to linger your case again. But God is always great. Just pray pray and pray he listens and answers our prayers.

I hope you don't have to wait as long as most if us here. It's a torturous experience.

Yes on 3rd april right after my interview day then on 10/11 which embassy called me to ask something then on 29april upon receiving missing docs.

That's a big News hopefully your visa will be stamped soon. You have immigrant visa and what about ds5535 given to you?

Yes absolutely agree with you, some never get any updates and straightaway changed to Issued.

Means when case status updates when we send email to inquire about our case OR we send missing docs and upon receiving IV Visa Unit update status.

I don't know what is the strategy behind updates and what they do when case date updates.

This is 5th time updated and don't know about 10 times.

My case status has updated today after 21 days since last update and this time it's updated it's own without any inquiry, I hope they working on my case and wish it soon change to Issued.

Yes you right, we have no choice other than wait and pray to Lord, it's really makes sick atleast they should keep us in loop and make us aware that on what stage applicatiin is atleast with short message like they put status AP.

The system flags candidates for administrative processing and DS-5535 if you're on TAL, a male from certain countries and otherwise. Not much we can do about that. That said, I noticed that you have applied for a F2-A visa. Generally, immigrant visas take longer to process. The uncertainty really drove me nuts as well. Best to wait and pray for a quick positive decision. 

Yeah bro we doing the same, I mean whatever the category what on earth takes too long to verify documents in this modern time and specially for usa, even in Pakistan Govt.documents can be varified within no time.

+ Got an email to submit travel history and other information 2 hours after the interview (DS-5535) - (4/22/2019)

+ I submitted my filled DS-5535 via email reply on 4/23/2019 but status on website did not update. Neither did I get a confirmation email. 

+ No status changed till 5/10/2019. Case last updated showed: 4/22/2019. 

+ Status updated once on Friday (5/10/2019) - Still showed administrative processing

+ Status updated again on Monday (5/13/2019) - Still showed administrative processing

+ Status updated one final time on Tuesday (5/14/2019) to issued

+ Got collection email 3 hours after status update (5/14/2019)

 

Total processing time was 3 weeks from interview date. I have been on an F-1 visa in the US for around 9 years so I have a very extensive travel history as well but thankfully that did not slow down the process.

 

Hopefully this post shows that DS-5535 can be cleared in almost 3 weeks. It really depends on the visa type and varies from person to person. My degree focuses on Chemical and Biomolecular engineering so the 3 times i have applied for an F-1, I have always had to go through administrative processing. Hope this helps everyone and more particularly F-1 students who have gotten DS-5535 after getting 221-G/AP. 

Many Congratulations to you and thanks for sharing your case I think your case was different first you've been in usa for quite long time and plus you applied before your current visa expires which benifit your case anyways still it's helpful and Ray of light for us.

Well it was minor mistake actually while filling questionnaire on passport information one of my passport I made out of Pakistan where I was working so they thought I am having nationality of that particular country too, so I clarified and They never ask me for resume.

Hi hamza how are you bro, well since my interview I got 4 updates and that too when first they send me questionnaire second time when some mistake happen in questionnaire they called me and sent back and last time my case got updated when I sent requested doc's.No updates and nothing happening seriously this is so frustrating and we stuck in a dark tunnel but i am hopeful as they says there's always a light end of the tunnel. I wish and pray all of us stuck and facing hard time will end soon. God bless all of us.
