Hello, I sent my aos packet late February but what is this biometric fingerprint that I'm seeing? How do we schedule that appointment? Do they send us something in the mail? thanks

After you have received NOA1 which is the receipts for AOS, USCIS will send you NOA2 which is for your biometric appointment. It will state the date and time you will go to your local office which is close to you to have your fingerprints and picture captured for background check.

I'm am so confused right now. Why is that my case has a different receive date on USCIS website. I

notice that on https://egov.uscis.gov they say that they receive my case last Feb 19. and on the https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov it says that they receive my case last March 5. ugh!

I have the same problem as well. The received date on the old site says my case was received on December 31,2018 and my account says January 14,2019. But since my NOA1 is dated January 15. So I will says just look at the date on your NOA1 to determine when USCIS received your AOS application.

Every AOS application gets an interview. So if the RFE was for AOS they'll check if everything is complete and then put you in the que for an interview at your local office.

If the RFE was for EAD/AP and they receive the right documents, they'll (eventually) make a decision on your application.

OH my  RFE was for AOS and I know I will have to go through interview. But I think you have answered my question. I guess once my RFE is checked and I am put in que for interview, my AP and EAD will be processed.

    Thanks for input!

Those updates suck.. I mean i'd hope to have more updates like "Case was sent to Missouri", "case was reviewed", "case was sent to local processing office" etc. Not "received" the whole time. USCIS would have easier time with less people calling and asking about their case as it would say all the info online.

They scan cases regardless, it wouldn't be too difficult to code a couple more updates.

PaulMac you are right. My also remains case was received. But I believe the case is in Missouri (National Benefits Center)  because that was where I send my RFE response to. Let us hope for a good news because waiting sucks. Fingers 🖐️ crossed 🤞🤞🤞

Most of the people got RFE for not sending the latest 2018 tax return. You can read the previous month's AOS filers. It is better to send the latest tax return to avoid any RFE or delays.

Yes you are right. I got RFE without sending the most current tax return. But lucking my hubby and I were able to file 2018 tax and we have responded to the RFE. Now I am waiting for a miracle 😃

    Call this number ‭(800) 375-5283‬.

Choose the option to check your case status and then the option to type in your receipt number. Your receipt number will start with three letters but you have to type those too according to the number it is on the keypad. For example “MSC124” would be “672124” when you type it in. Then the automated systems gives the update.

My online account hasn’t changed since they received my application so this gave me a more recent update (although doesn’t tell you the date the fingerprint review was completed).

Are you supposed to get a response after they get your RFE back? I have no idea because I don’t know what other people have experienced but I would have thought the next notification after an RFE would be that the application has been approved/interview ready to be scheduled.  From what I’ve heard that can take months. But I could be wrong about that haha

USCIS said they have received my response to the RFE. And that is all.

Thanks. Yes I just called and the automated system told me that the “fingerprint review was completed” for the AOS and EAD, and that it’s now in Missouri.

No update on the AP since they received the application in Jan, but that’s because you don’t have biometrics for AP right?

Which number did you call to find out whether your fingerprints review is completed. I had my Fingerprints done on February 5, but I responded to RFE and uscis received my response on February 12. Since I have not head anything. My lawyer said she has not heard anything also. Please if it is possible for the automated system to confirm my fingerprints review to me,kindly let me know the number to call. Thanks.

You don't bring the application form (I-485). Typically you would bring the original documents that were sent in as photocopies like your marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc in case they want to verify the originals. You can also bring things that you have done jointly with your spouse in the interim since you applied like bank accounts, car insurance, utilities, leases or show you share the same address like driver licenses.

It is kind of necessary to bring such documents that show the 2 of you has done together? Because one thing I know is without ssn you can't get those things like the joint bank account, insurance and other things

Strange thing has happened to my status(new site)

On Feb 25th it changed to "Fingerprint review was completed" and then for some reason I got another notification on Feb 28th with the same status

    Not it shows:

"Fingerprint review was completed" Feb 28

"Fingerprint review was completed" Feb 25

"Fingerprint fee was received" Feb 2

What is the new site? But most importantly your fingerprints review is completed.

is it back to zero or they will just hold and start when they receive the RFE?

Per my research, it state that the RFE resets the 90days again. But uscis says it stop working on the case once they issue RFE. And only start working on the case again when the receive your RFE

But the waiting is still the same. Maybe your service center won't delay your case. But the normal process remain the same unless you are premium

just to be safe we'll be submitting her tax docs and our joint sponsor's, like what it says on the RFE everything should be sent in one package and i guess there's no more second chance. i thought they will hold the case if it's request for evidence? mine is request for initial evidence.

Yes, you  send both just to be on a safer side.

Request for evidence and Request for Initial evidence, all put a hold on your case as far as I know and per my little research on the internet. Because I also had Request for Initial evidence. And after uscis received my RFE, my case status online said they have received my RFE and start working on my case again.

we are still waiting for the 2018 tax which my wife just filed and we have until april 8th to response with the rfe, however we will also use  ajoint sponsor. it doesn't need to be our relative right? what do you mean by they are asking for a detailed explanation for the co sponsor?

My cosponsor is a retired nurse so they need explanation of her social security benefits. But we realized my husband qualify to be my sole sponsor during the time we received RFE from USCIS.

I believe your wife can print out the filed tax form so that you can submit.

Also per uscis policy all processes on your case has been put on hold. They will resume working on your case when they receive your RFE. At least let us hope everything goes well for us both.

is it okay to submit the most recent tax documents along with the co sponsors affid of support?

If you have the w2 for 2018 you can file that year tax return. I had the same problem with my hubby. We did filed for 2017 which he didn't meet the poverty guideline. So we decided a joint sponsor which was more good. Because the joint sponsor was making more than the poverty guideline requirement even during her retirement time. But uscis send me RFE for most current tax return for my hubby and a detailed explanation of the co sponsor.

So we were fortunate that my hubby had his w2 for 2018 and he was able to file for 2018 which he met the poverty guideline to be my sole sponsor.

Just got back from biometrics. Fairly quick. 20mins n out. Asked whats up with early interviews, they said no idea but it recently happened occasionally. They said they know nothing past that, but that people get quick interviews lately. So hang on tight

Wow.... It seems your bio has been delayed or is it within the normal time frame? What is your receipt date?

Hello I am new here. January 2019 AOS filer.

    Jan.17 sent AOS package

    Jan.19 arrived at chicago lockbox

    Jan.28 AOS received

    Jan.30 NOA 1 (receipt for I485 & I765)

    Feb.2 NOA 2 (biometrics appointment)

    Feb. 13 Biometrics done

Feb. 27 NOA 3 (interview schedule)

    March 27 Interview date

I am kinda nervous and wont expect too much from this because I have read lots of reviews that the process really takes too loooooong. And i just pray that the interview goes well. I am curious if what happens after interview, if how long would uscis send a notice of approval or if they would as well tell you after the interview that they have approved my AOS and how long till I receive the green card??

For others, dont lose hope. Lets continue to pray for this. It is so depressing because of the processing times but we can do this 🙏😭

Wow.... That was super fast. Hmm..... I am just hoping with my finger cross🤞 that my RFE will be approved.

    Good luck buddy.👍

I had my biometrics appt 2 weeks ago but nothing has changed for me on my online account. They all still say “we have received your case”. I’ve heard of people saying they got a status update along the lines of “fingerprints received”. Does this happen for everyone or is it sort of hit and miss whether it’s updated to that or not?

Well..... My status has been the same and I had an RFE which I responded as early as I could. USCIS received it on February 12 and since then nothing again. I had my biometrics on February 5.Let us wait. Wishing us luck anyway.

I did my biometrics today and have a question. Did you fill out any forms? I've seen a lot of people are saying you have to fill out some sort of form with biographical information?
I was only given my biometrics letter back.

Yes you fill a form with your biographical information and the officer who will capture your fingerprints will use that information and enter it into the database. After that he or she will give that form back to you. That's how my appointment went. So I have that biographical form with me.

But if you were able to do the fingerprints and your picture was taken, then I don't think you should worry about anything else than they processing your case.
