Hello guys.  I hope everyone is doing great. My vawa was approved on 02/26/2021 and still I have not received the approval letter.  Anyone else in this situation? Sent Uscis an e request but still nothing.  I am scared if I would need to attend the GC interview and no letter.  Any suggestions! Thanks a lot 💫👐

Can you try to get help from congressman to get a copy of approval letter. Also if you have a lawyer is it possible that they overlooked your mail? Another possibility i can think of if your address changed is that uscis sent to old address.

what's your timeline? when did you file the I-485 and your Bio appt date?

i got my gc couple months ago and you should hear something soon as well! Average wait is 13-15 months. I believe calling helpline may not help expedite your interview. But you seem very close to finish line! 😊

    I-485 Received Date - Nov 2019

    Bio - Dec 2019

    Interview - Dec 2020

    Card Received - Dec 2020

    HI everyone

Does anybody know How to successfully get through over the phone to talk to a live USCIS representative?

Its just automated system I dont know How to connect to a live person to talk to........

I couldn’t either. Phone helpline probably is inactivated after covid. Emma chat may be the only online option. But hope other members are able to give you more information.

well our interview was again scheduled in Charlotte.  The USCIS claimed that I only did the change of address for one application - I-485 and not I-130, which was a lie and that my file was still at NBC and they'd schedule my interview only in Dallas and I'm in queue there. The point of contact at the congressmans office asked me to send evidences that I submitted change of address for all applications, which I sent. I had to send an email again to the congressmans office because my interview was like coming up in a week.

The congressmans office contacted me last week and said that she talked to Dallas Field Office and someone will contact me in the next 2 months, that they'd call me directly.

And someone did call me yesterday later afternoon and asked if we could come in for an interview today at 6:15 am since they're so slammed and don't have appointments opening up. I saidddd YASSSSSSSSSS. And so we had our interview this morning and were approved on the spot. Case Status even changed super fast, as soon as we got into the car.

Very happy for you!! Contacting Congressman definitely helped your case. When I started to read the message i was heartbroken to hear that CIS made a mistake 3 time!! But in the end i am so glad you had a quick interview and instant approval as well. Congratulations!!🎉🎊

How early should we arrive at USCIS before the interview? The notice says you can’t enter before 15 mins prior to the interview. But I drove by today just to make sure I knew how to get there and saw a line of people waiting outside, so I’m wondering now what time we should plan to get there

When it’s your turn for security screening they ask you to return later if you go in earlier than 15 mins. I have seen that happen with a lady. Maybe stand in line 20-25 mins prior to your appointment not earlier than that. Otherwise you will have to join end of line. I joined line exactly 15 mins before interview and it took about 15  mins to go inside. There were 20 people ahead of me.

We filed AOS 24th of January 2020 but we still have status :Case is ready to be schedule for an interview((. My travel document and working permit will expire in July. Should I send right now the package with documents to USCIS( to renew) or I have some time to wait for my interview? Thank you

If you want to be safe you can apply for ead renewal. But based on average wait time you should have your interview anytime soon. There may be slight delays cos of cancelled interviews this week. I hope everything works out for you 🙏🏽

Well, got a notification today again for the 3rd time that our interview has been scheduled.

frankly don’t have much hope. Feel like it’s going to be scheduled in a different state again.

But o well go with the flow

I reached out to them. They said that they reached out to USCIS. Let’s see!

    thanks for the advice

If interview was scheduled after you raised concern with congressman, it’s likely that you are scheduled in Irving this time! Lets hope for the best!! 🙏🏽

It could be a glitch with status update system. I got interview cancelled notice online update as well. but it turned out to be inaccurate. My interview happened per physical notice.good luck 👍🏽

I read that interviews scheduled for 19th and 20th have been rescheduled to the week after. So it shouldn’t be too long before you get new interview date. Some users were rescheduled over phone!

Thank you, my interview was scheduled for next week but I just received an update that it was canceled!  I need to wait for the physical mail to find the exact reason. The fact that they did it so last minute makes me wonder if they rescheduled it because of the inauguration being around the same time and the risk of riots.

Very excited today...    we received notification our interview is scheduled...    we filed the 485 on 1/14/2020 with a NOA date of 1/17/2020.   Notification of interview scheduled on 1/15/2021...   almost exactly one year later.    Based on other timelines, I was expecting it to be around 1/31 so this is a nice surprise this morning!!    Hopefully this helps others with timing.  :-)).    Actual interview should be around 2/15 or so.

    Congratulations!!🎊🎈

None of my interview expedites worked. They'd say that the expire request was completed but I didnt get anything from that. I made 2 expedite requests.

Today my  case changed to Interview was scheduled though.

That’s great news, right? Congratulations!! You should be done with the wait very soon!! 🎊🎉

i was thinking of you the other day when i read a users post that said they were scheduled in the wrong state (CIS didn’t use the updated address!). They appeared for interview although its a different jurisdiction. The officer agreed to interview and they got approved!! Anyway, you are over that phase now. But just wanted to let you and other members know.

Once again hearty congratulations!! I guess its time to get your documents ready 😊

That is awesome ! Congrats ! Can you tell us what documents did you take to the interview and what did they look at ? and what questions did they ask ?

    Thank you !

I carried all original documents like passport, birth, marriage certificates, visa approval and ead cards. I took the entire aos package as well but that’s not needed. May be you can carry some pictures that are not included in the application. i took last 3 month pay stubs, 3 year tax returns as well. Officer only asked for 2019 tax returns and nothing else 👍🏼

Congratulations!!! Please do post your interview experience!

Hello, i am so sorry i was gone for a while. There were no notifications in my email hence did not notice your question!

Dallas CIS is quite professional yet friendly. My interview was at 9:00AM. It took about 15 minutes to pass security after getting in line. After being fingerprinted, we were directed to 2nd floor where there is a waiting lounge. We waited about 1.5 hours to be called. We could use our phones, but kept them in silent mode. When called for interview we turned the phones off. After taking oath, I was asked all yes/no questions in i-485 form, where i met my spouse and if it was arranged or love marriage. Officer asked for 2019 tax returns and said she had everything else on file. We wore masks all through.Towards the end she said that she will review the documents and if anything else is needed we will be notified via mail else we will receive card in 2-3 weeks. Same evening status updated to card production. Our lawyer received the card on Dec 10th. The wait was stressful but   Im glad it’s finally over.

If you recall my interview status showed that it was cancelled. But there was no issue on that part. That probably was a glitch with online update.

I pray that you all get done with this process soon and relax. But to be honest other than the killing wait time its not bad at all once your interview is scheduled. I had my card within 10days🙏🏽

Hello family! I need help. I filed I-360 and I-485 for me and my son who is 13,  in June 2018. In July 2019 we moved to another state and all documentation I've been receiving to my new address. Today I've got the invitation letter for the interview for my son,  in the state when we lived before. The invitation for the interview for myself I didn't get, only for my son. Can you help me to understand this situation: Why only my son, 13 years old will have interview and not me, is it normal? Can we go to the interview in the state where we don't live anymore? What questions they can ask my child in the interview? Do children typically get interviewed?

I think you will get interview notice as well. Please be on the lookout. Also reach out to congressman stating this situation. I read minor children aren’t asked any aos specific questions. And more importantly, I am not too sure if other field office has jurisdiction over your case anymore since you moved! I would request advice from @sandranj asap 🙏🏽
