My husband just re-entered through Chicago (ORD) this week with his AP card.  No problems whatsoever.

Several thousand people, I would imagine. It happens all the time. Unless you are planning to stay out of the country for a considerable amount of time, there’s nothing to worry about.

Enjoy your trip.  With a valid AP document, you will almost certainly experience no issues related to reentry.

Well I'd you're scared don't go. But advanced parole is designed to let you back in after travel.

my thoughts to you is to do what gives you peace of mind. The fact of the matter is based on what you’re telling us here, you reasonably have nothing to fear concerning being denied entry back into the USA. The days of being denied reentry in advance parole due to a previous overstay are over. The rules were changed in 2011.

However no matter how much we reassure you, if you know you’re still going to be worry and be scared, don’t do it. You’re the only one who knows yourself best.

I wish you the best, no matter how you decide.
  7. Thanks

We have the EAD/AP combo card and are currently outside of the US on advanced parole for a one month vacation to my husband's country. We will re-enter at the end of the month. We aren't worried. This is what it's meant for.
