We had the interview July 26 but then got a letter in the mail for a rfe for a document that was missing. We sent it in right away and was received aug 2. Does anyone know how long we need to wait for an answer? My husband needs to leave the country to visit family is there anything he can do to still travel ?

Congratulations!! Ours is coming up this Friday and this is the list of evidence I'm bringing. I'm bringing originals of everything I have (all the certificate -- birth, marriage, etc.) and an extra copy of the original just in case the IO wants to keep something (I think it says to do this in the notice, but I don't remember).
My husband was arrested in his home country and the case was dismissed but they did ask that during his k1 visa interview and we provided the court documents then. Is that required again for this time around ?

We are also Feb filers waiting for NYC Feels like forever.
My husband's EAD expires in July so we filed to renew the EAD in January. You should do it ASAP just to be safe. No fee, just make sure you indicate you have a pending I-485.We sent the renewal for EAD in and it was received at uscis on March 11. It’s April 6 and we still didn’t get the first noa. Is that normal ?

Hi!
We sent all of our paperwork in feb 2020 and are still waiting for our interview to be scheduled. Does anyone know how long New York City is taking to schedule interviews?
Also my husbands EAD is expiring in June. Should we apply to renew now ? And is there a renewal fee ?
Any help and thought are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I've been waiting since June 19th for my EAD card.. so 3 weeks from approval at least. It is a joke!
Wow. Please let us know when you get it ! Also did you get approved for the travel card ? Is it also a minimum of a 3 week wait ?

Hey all!
Our EAD got updated today to new card is being produced. Does anyone know how long will it take to get it in the mail? And also does that mean we can go apply for a social security number ? My husband wasn’t able to get his social security number , they told him we had to wait to receive the EAD.

We are happy with your success but the post is a bit off-putting and misleading considering that this particular thread is SPECIFICALLY for FEBRUARY FILERS
Consider looking at our timeline. We filed our AOS on February 5, 2020.

Ah you filed in December. Was a little bit irritated that somebody from February already had an interview scheduled 😉
Don’t be irritated by other people getting lucky in some parts of this whole process. We filed our K1 visa before you did and had a much longer waiting process To getting that approved than you did. The fact that we got lucky with the aos doesn’t mean there weren’t issues in the beginning of the process. Being away from each other miles apart while waiting for the K1 visa noa2 .... I would’ve much rather had that wait shortened any day over having a quick noa2 on the AOS.
Just be positive and good things will come.

Hi
Same here
I did I-485 and I-765 biometrics taken yesterday that was March 12
But today I got a letter from USCIS appointment to my I-131 AP biometrics taking on coming March 24
Did you ask USCIS or you have any idea what happend?
Yeah they told us if we got the letter to do it for the travel document then we have to do it. I asked to speak to a tier 2 but they said I’d have to call back Monday

Hey we did the biometrics March 6 and it was updated on the status for aos and ead. But we just got a notification to do another one for the travel document. Do we have to do it again? The one we already did can’t be applied ?

We have the biometrics appt for tomorrow but we can’t make it. How do we reschedule ? Is it too late to reschedule? What does the biometrics get us ?

I can't really give you an answer on the EAD some have gotten it in under 4 months, others like me are still waiting since September 2019. The norm is 5 to 6 months.
Oh ok thank you ! Also did we not get processed because we went 55 days after he came into the country or because his name change ? We also got married on day 33 - could that be why we got denied ?

If you have less than 14 days left on your I94 they will deny you a chance to apply. 30 days after arrival would still have given you ample time for SSA to accept your application. Sounds like you got a supervisor who did not know their own rules. Try another office if you have time left on your I94. Otherwise you'll have to wait for your EAD.
Yeah our I94 is up. We went to social security 55 days after arrival - is that why it couldn’t be processed ? I saw on the save site that they did pull the information. But They also mis spelled his last name when they were pulling his information in the confirmation letter they gave us today it was misspelled.
we are doing the biometrics on March 6. How long after that will we get the EAD?

I already received my SSN card.
When I called the SSA local office, I gave them the reference number indicated in the letter they provided me when I first applied. From there, they were able to see and process my app.
It could be that the person u talked to is not aware of the process.
You need to try again but this time call the office first and provide the story and the reference number. If they say the same thing, ask for the Maryland # or the national 1-800 # (it should be in the letter they provided too.)
We were at the social security office and spoke with the supervisor. They said because it was past the 4 weeks since he came into the country we exhausted the time frame.

@Distantlove718 and @osally1, got this issue as well but rectified now.
Steps I took:
- called ssa 800 # but got nothing from there.
- checked save website and got info that DHS returned my application to SSA Maryland already.
- called local SSA office (Jax Florida) and they processed my application. SSA Maryland returned it approved and Jax office issued a receipt. Card to be sent within 2 weeks.
- went to local SSA office and got my number. Wife sweet-talked the clerk to give it to us verbally. 😉 but still waiting for the card.
Once I got my SSN, went to DMV and got my driver's license which is valid for a year. Canadian eh! 😉
We still haven’t gotten the ssn and the save website said it was returned Jan 23. We went to social security and they said they have no records and now it’s out of time frame. What do we do ?

Even though it's been that long it's a good sign because it has not been denied. Did you go to the save sight and did it say returned to requesting agency?
Yes it did just a few days after we requested it.

It took us 5 weeks to get ours, give it awhile longer. You do have the receipt that you applied right.
Yes we have the receipt. It’s been 4 weeks and still nothing. We’ll wait another week.

Can someone help please. We went to the social security office on 1/22 (its been 3 weeks) and we still haven’t gotten the ssn. Has anyone came across this ?

2,5 weeks is fine.
You can check if it's really still with DOH https://www.uscis.gov/save/casecheck
It says on Jan 23 the Maryland ss center sent them the evidence. But when we called on feb 5 they said they never received it.
Divorcing while waiting for 10 year gc

Hi All!
My fiancé came to the states on a fiancé visa and after being married for 4 years things are just not working out between us two and we have decided to split. He had the conditional green card and we filed I-751 in may of 2023 and are still waiting for an answer from uscis.
If we get divorced now, while we are still waiting for the I-751, will that affect his permanent residency application? What will happen with the application we filed ? Will it just be a RFE to show divorce or will he get denied and have to refile?
Also, we were married for 4 years. Will he still be able to apply for naturalization app on approval of I-751 or will he have to wait for the 5 year mark?
