North Carolina.
We have a similar timeline with our RFE! I am also filing in Raleigh, please let us know when you get your update to ‘interview scheduled’! I am hopeful for a January interview!

But was your i-94 already expired when you went to the dmv?
Yes, it had expired. They will be able to do a 180 day licence from the i-485 NOA date. Probably only until February now if you are an August filer, but better than nothing.

I live in Raleigh and my wife tried to get a driver's license and they told her with the amount of days left on her i-94 they couldn't issue her one. But some told me that she could go back with her AOS recipiet notice and get one even with her I-94 expired
Yes, I am also in NC. They gave me a license for 180 days from my NOA date.

Adding to this thread as I went to the DMV today in Wilmington, NC. After a couple of hours I managed to obtain my licence. I took my I-94 which expired today, along with my NOA for my AOS, SSN, passport and proof of insurance (my wife managed to get me added to her car by asking her insurer). They didn’t seem convinced initially but I stayed very polite and told them that I believed I was able to obtain a licence on my pending AOS. I didn’t realise I was going to have to sit a theory and practical test but I went for it and passed (much easier than sitting my UK test). I recommend giving it a try and going to your local DMV stating that you know you are eligible. I think my new licence will last 180 days which will hopefully be after I receive my EAD etc. Hope this helps others in a similar position searching for info!

I have the same issue. My husband's 2018 tax return did not meet the 125% because he just started working last December. They issued an RFE to us asking for his latest income tax return. I wonder if this will be another delay for us
Probably a small delay, but I think we just have to relax and go with the flow! I’ve realised that worrying about it doesn’t help! I wish you a speedy process 😊

This may be a dumb question, but I see a lot of people needing joint sponsors all of a sudden. How were they able to pass the k1 interview with the same financials as they have now? Also, what happens if someone can’t get a co-sponsor? Do they deport the spouse?
I didn’t need a joint sponsor for my K1 as the letter from my wife’s employer seemed good enough to the London embassy. However, her tax return from 2018 didn’t meet the 125% as she didn’t work the full year so I am assuming this is what they have an issue with.

Jumping on the bandwagon here! Filed my AOS on September 16th, received text and emails on Sept. 23, and received NOA1’s for I-485, I-765, and I-131 in the mail on Sept. 27th. Received my biometrics letter on October 4 for October 17th in Raleigh, NC. Anyone else a Raleigh filer here? Good luck to everyone!
Hi! Almost exact same timeline as you and filing at Raleigh too! Have my biometrics scheduled 1pm on 17th.

I’m not planning on calling NVC unless I really need to - I want to have my medical at the end of July and my interview at the start of September, so am in no rush for case numbers...so figure there’s no need to call them and add to that call waiting time for others!
The case number will arrive by post (and maybe email too) eventually - and if you’re closer to the date and haven’t had it yet, you could always call them then...
thank you! 😀

Hi all,
Do we have to call NVC to obtain our case number or will this arrive via post or email to petitioner/beneficiary? I am not planning on moving until after summer so don’t feel a big rush to get my interview booked until late June/July.
Thanks!

in Adjustment of Status Case Filing and Progress Reports

Successful interview in Raleigh, NC yesterday. We were in and out within an hour. Didn’t get that satisfying ‘approved’ at the interview but got a status update of ‘new card being produced’ about 20 mins after leaving and got ‘case approved’ update this morning. Officer very friendly, just asked questions from I-485 to confirm names, dates and how we met etc. Good luck to all still waiting!
