HUGE CONGRATS!!!!! We have our interview on June 11th in San Diego! How was the overall process? Pretty simple? And how long did you wait around in the office, etc? Thanks
Thank you so much ☺️ and congratulations on your interview date!
Yes the overall process is pretty simple. The security guards and receptionist were very nice and helpful.
12:10pm interview time
11:40am arrived - sweating bullets at this point 😅
12:45pm finally called in for our interview
1:15sh pm done ✅
I was really hoping for one of those interviews you read about when the IO is just so friendly and super conversational and people are in and out within 20 minutes but of course we got an officer who just went point by point 🤣 While he was going over the yes or no portion of the I-485 he knew those questions by heart. Kept eye contact with me that whole time 👁 lol so it’s very true when they say it pays to be prepared.
Let me know if you have any other questions! 👍🏼 -

Green card: Approved ✅
Interview date: May 9, 2019 approved
Local Office: San DiegoNever received EAD/AP
NOA date: November 26,2018
I cried tears of joy into my husband’s arms right outside the building and all the way home. 😭 We did it and I couldn’t be more grateful. 🙏🏼
The interview was very detailed and to the point. About 30 minutes total. Towards end when he started asking more personal questions about our marriage and families etc we got to see him be more engaging and more conversational with a friendly smile here and there. I honestly couldn’t read how the interview was going so I think I must of blacked out when he uttered the words “I’m recommending you for approval” 😁Parts of me still can’t believe to be done with this part of the process. I had to ask my husband and lawyer again when we left if this was real!I have faith that everyone still waiting will hear some great news in the coming weeks! I will of course be keeping everyone in my thoughts and continue sending those positive vibes. This community has definitely been my guiding light when it turned dark. So I owe a huge thank you to you all as well. Any questions don’t hesitate to ask. 🥰

Guys, i just want to know how long will it take to actually get a letter regarding your interview schedule? My case has been updated 7 days ago that “Interview Was Scheduled”...and i haven’t receive anything in the mail 😞😞😞
Congratulations on getting your interview scheduled! 🎉🙌🏼 I didn’t receive my letter for about 10 calendar days, so I know how you’re feeling. 😓 Funny thing was our lawyer got the letter 3 days before we got ours 🤨
Something that helped me that I learned from these amazing people in this forum was to signed up for informed delivery with USPS. It’s a free feature that will inform you of any mail/packages that will be out for delivery that day. I get emails around 8am and the mailman comes around 1pm ✉️ so it helps when you are anxiously waiting for that important piece of mail! Congrats again 👍🏼

Thank you 🙏🏼 You’re very sweet. Loving the positivity! Kindness is an investment, good karma is the return. Your day will come and trust me when I say I will be celebrating with you in spirit, as well as plenty of others I’m sure! So never stop believing. Don’t quit. Don’t lose hope. Everyone’s time is just around the corner! 💫

I think there may have been some misunderstandings here and I'm not defending anyone but right now - calling is not the issue I believe. I believe this is about submitting a case inquiry through the USCIS website, which currently should only be done by those whose processing times are now considered to be 'Out of Processing Times' - which at the moment on the USCIS website is showing 20th Sept 2018 as the date. I believe what others have been trying to say, is that it's not fair that someone who has been waiting from September and is awaiting a response to their case inquiry, is then delayed on getting an answer to their inquiry, because other people who are 'within' the processing times are making inquiries, when it's not really their turn to do so?
Everyone here is trying to support each other - and I don't think anyone meant any harm with their words, just trying to make people aware and be sensitive of what they are typing as there are numerous people who have been waiting 200+ days for their EAD/AP with no response and are still being told to wait a further 30 days. You have to imagine the upset and frustration for the people who are still waiting - if you're getting upset at like day 100-120-150, please please think what it is like for those who have been waiting for even longer than that.I 100% agreed with you and my hearts goes out to those still waiting and hoping for some results soon. 🤞❤️
Like I said, everyone has to be their own advocate and people can respectfully ask questions, share their stories or give their opinions and feedback on matters without it meaning they’re disregarding the people who filed before them.
It’s a new day so I hope to be hearing some approvals announcements 🙌🏼 Let’s build each other up and support one another.

Okay maybe its my mistake to submit a request at early time
No mistake! 👍 We all have to be our own advocate. We don’t know anyone situations and can’t judge. There’s literally no need for such hostility so I’m sorry for what others have said if they’ve upset you. Most of US are here to support and uplift each other through this journey. 🙋🏻♀️ I respect your choice to call and ask about your case and I hope you hear some good new soon! 🌻 Sending everyone still waiting lots of positive vibes and prayers.

Oh wishful thinking! I'll be a 2020 GC kid im sure!! Can't wait to spread the wings further with the combo!! I know your waiting for the GC interview to come soon but I think you'll be so grateful to have the combo in the meantime!! It will come
I was also thinking the same thing! 👍🏼 Even if the interview was months or even a year from now, for me the combo card in the meantime would be just as wonderful. 😊

Ow thank you! Im from PA. How about your marriage cert? How did you fill up? Was your entire full name indicated there with your two first name and middle name? Cuz my MC shows my entire name i usually used when im still in the phil. Did you do something about it? Or you just file your AOS using your new name without your middle name and last name without any local court assistance/change name? Argh! I really don’t know.
On my marriage license I had put my full birth name, so all 4 names.
Example-
first name: Mary Ann
middle mane: Markle
last name : Middleton
now or that I’m married for my AOS I put
first name: Mary
middle name: Ann
last name: Hemssworth (taking my husband’s name)
Dropped my middle and maiden last name.
I didnt have have to go to a local court, only changing it while filing for AOS.

Help please! I have questions about filing AOS. I want to use my husband’s last name for my current legal name cuz we already got married. my whole name is:
First name: DIMPNA ROSE
Middle name: CASTROMAYOR
Last name: CABRILES
my married last name now is: TARR
now i wanted to file my current legal name as:
First name: DIMPNA
Middle name: ROSE
Last name: TARR
So it would appear like this: Dimpna Rose Tarr
Now my question is, is it posible to use as my current legal name DIMPNA ROSE TARR and/even i get rid of my middle name and maiden name?
I just wanted to use that 3 names of mine and get rid my middle name and maiden name. Thank you for your help! I appreciate it.
Hello! It might very with state so I’m only speaking from experience in California. I’m also from the Philippines and had 2 first names as well so I know how it is haha While filling with our lawyer I dropped my middle and maiden name all together and did exactly as you are wanting. I was advised to always bring my marriage certificate to any USCIS appointments/medical exams since all my identification is in my maiden name.
I hope that helps!

Dont quote me on this but I personally believe this site has up to date indo
Thank you so much for linking this website!
I was able to sign up and look into my case. Out of the 2 websites DHS is the only one that is showing any updates for me.

hi there!!! which office were you supposed to go to? and which one did you go to? I wanna try doing what you did. my biometrics appointment is set on dec 27, but i wanted to do it earlier because i'll have to be in georgia and missouri for the holidays to spend it with my husband's family. what documents or things did you need? i'm from imperial california and the nearest ones aside from mine are in san diego and chula vista. i'll actually be in san diego on wednesday so i asked just in case. thanks so much soul mate!
Hello! 👋 In my biometrics letter my appointment was set in Riverside. I ended up going to the San Marcos location. I definitely prepared myself to be turned away or the wait time to be long considering I didn’t have an appointment but to my pleasant surprise not one person beside the workers were there! First thing the lady asked was if I had an appointment and I just said no and that was it. I showed her my appointment letter and she had me fill out paper work regarding my name, height, weight etc. After reading others experiences about walk-ins appointments most that were successful I found would arrive early afternoon. Not right when it opens. When I arrived at 11:15am they gave me the number 48.. which probably meet they saw 47 people before me.
I brought my appointment letter, my drivers license and my marriage certificate.
My drivers license has my maiden name and all my AOS paperwork was filled out to my new married name. In my opinion base on my experience, I would definitely recommend going to your biometrics appointment early. Had I been turned away that day I would be back the next day and the next day and so on haha. Hope all goes well, I’m sure it will and go enjoy the holidays with your family! Keep us posted!

Hey did they ask for any documents other than id and biometrics Appointment letter? I have heard someone got sent back becoz they didnt bring marriage certificate!! Which wasnt mentioned on notice !
Hello. So yes in my situation I brought a copy of my marriage certificate (just to be safe) because my drivers license has my maiden name on it and while filing the AOS paperwork I am now using my married name. Everything I brought was
- appointment letter
- ID
- marriage certificate

Funny you say that! We received the letter the same day as you!! We have our fingerprint appointment 12/19 so exactly since we mailed out our package. Are you the USC, if so, will you be going with?
I’m so happy to hear! 👍🏼 I’m the beneficiary and my husband is the USC. I actually was able take my chances and go get my biometrics done today. Just walked in at 11:15am and not one single person was there. I went by myself. I also went to a different location then stated in the letter. As soon as I walked in I was asked if I had an appointment and I answered no and she smiled and said okay and handed me paper work to fill out. I was in and out 10 mins.

How long did it take for you all to get your biometrics appointment letter? We sent our AOS 11-19 received NOAs/text around 10 days after but still haven't received the biometrics letter. Now it is almost 3 weeks since we filed. I know that typically is scheduled pretty quickly so the sooner we can be aware of where we need to go the better so we can continue the waiting game ha.
Hello! I wanted to let you know we have around the same timeline! 👍🏼 Today we JUST received the letter for the biometric appointment that is set for December 19.. I’m hopeful yours will come soon too!

Hello everyone! I’m some what in the same boat! Sent our paper work Nov 20. No NOA1s receive as of December 3. But our checks were cash on November 27. Our lawyer told us to except a letter this week so we’ll see. I’m so grateful for you all.. just to know we’re not the only one going through this definitely helps. Blessing to us all for this journey to be short and sweet!
