I just received my EAD Card in the mail and called my SSA office, they told me that my number had been issued and I should receive my ssn card within the next couple of days 🎉🎉🎉🎉 best way to start the weekend.
Great news!😀Thank you and congratulations! I follow your case closely (we are 2-3 days behind) and it gives us hope.
-
I guess each SSA office is different. When I called ours, I was told to fax them copies of my husband's passport, EAD card and SS-5 application, then call them back and they would set up an appointment. I will do it next week as soon as we get the combo card in the mail.
-
Ridiculous, I agree. It’s possible to send by registered mail to track the documents.
On the other hand, if your husband has an ITIN, he can work and be paid . Though most employers prefer a SSN.
-
To those who got or about to get their EAD/combo cards but do not get SSN:
Call 1-800-772-1213 , check if the immigrant is in their system (chances are they are not), and make an appointment to come to your local SSA office to apply for a SS card. From what people say, it takes 2-6 weeks to get the SS card now.

Fair enough, I guess. Thanks! But the overseas immunizations still can be used for I-693, right?
-
Considering COVID-19 that messed up all rules and regulations, what about the former CR1/IR1 applicants? It’s kind of “gray area” now. Those applicants that did have their medical done overseas less than 2 years ago but abandoned Consular Processing and applied to AOS? Do they need to redo their medical or not?

Got the card today. The date on the card is September 16th which is the day the card was ordered. Our interview was August 14th.
Thank you, good to know! Congratulations on your PR status!

Update on our case

Your AOS interview date is October 5?
When did you get the letter about it?

And, as you said, don’t be surprised... so...
I’m not surprised. Our i765 status changed to “new card is being produced” just a day after our i485 status updated to “interview scheduled”. But one thing...
We have to get our medical done! The first one is outdated now. Eeek!! Hope that i485 appointment isn’t for a little bit yet or we’re going to have to really get moving!
I told you so😀👍
My husband also needs to redo his medical. What is worse, all our originals including approved I-130, birth certificates and his immunization record, all those are in the US Embassy in Paris and there is no way we can get them before AOS interview😩
-
Wait for the letter first. You will have plenty of time to schedule childcare, as the USCIS will give you up to 6 weeks to prepare for the interview. Good luck!

Ugg, my NOA date is 4/23. Haven't got any update even no biometric appointment scheduled. I contact with the live chat service, they suggested me to apply the inquiry for not getting notice. Does anyone have the same situation as me or had this problem before?
It depends on where you live. Some field offices are slower due to high volume of cases to be processed, for example Seattle, or NYC.
Hope you get good news soon!

I guess maybe we’re going to skip right over the EAD? Our case status for AOS (i485) changed to “Interview was scheduled”.
I’m sure we’ll get something in the mail shortly giving us the date. We’ve really only been focusing on the EAD. So this update was a bit of a surprise.
Exactly our situation 😀. And 11 days after “Interview scheduled “ we finally got “Card being produced” on I-765.
So don’t be surprised of the next update which may be coming soon!

My husband got his AP today.
Unfortunately he didn’t get the combo card,
Did you file I-765 and I-131 at the same time? Did you get your I-131 expedited?
-
« New card is being produced » for my husband’s I-765!👏👏👏Couldn’t believe my eyes, the status has changed today. We expedited and got the Congresswoman involved, I don’t know if that helped. On I-131 nothing changed, “Case received”.
AOS submitted 4/24, NOA 5/20, fingerprints 8/28, I-485 interview scheduled for 10/29. Field office of Tucson, AZ.

Omg!!! My status just changed to "New Card being produced". Most exciting news ever!!!
Congrats! Is it a combo card, or green card? What is your PD? Field office? Please update your timeline and help others with your detailed information. Thanks!

I'll have to create my timeline when I find the time to go through all the paperwork to find the many dates. But yeah in Tucson, biometrics were done for AOS and EAD in the first week of August And that was it, one appointment for both.
We are also in Tucson 🤝 and AOS interview will be October, 29th. My husband had his fingerprints done on 8/28 and on 8/31 requested his I-765 expedited but there is radio silence from USCIS. I had to ask my Congresswoman to have an inquiry for us.
Congrats to your wife on the combocard!🍾 We are desperate to get one ASAP as my husband got a job offer.

We got our AOS interview letter in the mail today 8 days after we got notification it was scheduled. Appointment date of October 20th! Also received my wife's Combo card in the mail today.
Please @uofaforlife update your Timeline. Are you in Arizona? Which field office? What is your PD? When did your wife had her biometrics done and how many times? Thanks

April 13, 2020 --> I-485/I-765/I-131: Case received
August 11, 2020 --> I-485/I-765: Fingerprints taken
August 18, 2020 --> I-485: Ready for Interview
September 16, 2020 --> I-131: Case approved
September 16, 2020 --> I-765: Card was mailed
September 18, 2020 --> I-131: Fingerprints taken
September 18, 2020 --> I-485: Interview was scheduled
September 19, 2020 --> I-765/I-131: Combo card received 🥳After I saw on Wednesday night that my AP was approved (without taking fingerprints for it yet), I called USCIS if I have to go to the biometrics appointment the next day anyway. It's a two-hour drive for me to get there and I didn't want to go if it wasn't necessary. Well, since my EAD was already mailed, I assumed they will simply send me a combo card.
So I talked to a very friendly representative, who suggsted to talk to a tier2 officer. So after six hours I got a call back from a higher officer and I explained my situation. Her only response was "we apologize for the inconveniences and suggest you show up anyway". After I said that it is a long drive, I got the same response... after I said my card was already approved, I got the same response... after I asked if she could look into my case, I got the same response... so yeah, in total I got that phrase 4-5 times within a two minutes call. And I went to the biometrics anyway, just to find out that it was unnecessary (as expected), since I received my combo card today 👏🏻So you never had to do your biometrics ? Wow. Congratulations !🎉

When they emailed me that my interview was scheduled it was scheduled for 1.5 month after my case update. I would wait and see when the interview is.
Thank you! You were right, and today we received the letter, the interview date is Oct 29, which is three days after our 2 yr anniversary 👏 That means my husband will get a 10 year green card👍 and we are spared of an expensive and time consuming ROC.
As to his combocard, not a peep from USCIS even though he had his biometrics done on 8/28 and requested to expedite his I-765 approval on 8/31.

Hey guys. Like Sravani, I finally got approved today as well.
Timeline:
i485/765/131: received 04/10/20
Biometrics for 485/765: 08/13/20
Biometrics for i131: 08/23/20
I765 "New Card Produced": 09/15/20
For what it's worth, my I131 is still "fingerprints applied". They were filed together, so I a hoping that the combo card has the re-entry component included on it.
Did you have your biometrics done twice? why?
-
@Callistora Congratulations! When you receive your card please let us know if the date of LPR on the card is the date of the interview, or after. Thanks!

At this pandemic, interview officer doesn't want to be with anyone long in a small room so you should expect it in and out.
In some field offices they do video interviews.
OP, it’s highly improbable that your interview will be waived, sorry.
