If you Google ETA for transit Visa, one of the search results is from Canadian Immigration (cic.ca).

Even for a connecting flight? Not even entering the country from outside the airport. I am literally there for 6 hours in the airport connecting flights area till I can catch my plane to USA on a K1 visa

  2. Hi guys!

I have my flight tomorrow from London to Vancouver B.C and then from there to Portland, Oregon. I tried to check in online for the first half of the flight (London to Canada) and it told me there was an error and they can’t check me in because I require a Canadian electronic travel authorisation or visa. Is this true? I am not staying in Canada I am just there for my connecting flight. Is this a mistake or do I really need an electronic travel authorisation??

    Thanks for your help!

  3. Hi,

My brother is 14 years old and a British citizen. He has a British passport. The issue starts here:  our father was Iranian but passed away 6 years ago. Since then, my brother has not been able to acquire an Iranian passport because under Islamic law, my grandfather needs to grant him permission to obtain a passport. He hasn’t granted permission so my brother only has his British passport.

He hasn’t visited Iran during this time because he doesn’t have an Iranian passport, only his British.

So my question is, does he need to apply for a tourist visa or not to visit the US? Is he still a dual national if he doesn’t have that second passport? If not can he just apply for ESTA before travel or does he still need a tourist visa??

Thanks in advance and I’d appreciate any help or guidance!

I had my interview on 26/04/19 and it was approved! I checked the CEAC and it was updated today to ‘issued’. I’m just wondering how long it took people from the point of the status changing to issued for it to be delivered to their address (I chose the express delivery option).

    Thanks!

First of all, congrats! It took me 2 days from when it said 'issued' :)

Oh Im sure they wont care, he just handed me some of the pages back as I think they dont want unnecessary paper cluttering up my file and just kept the helpful parts. I just looked over specifically what he handed me back vs what he kept. Of the 10 pages of tax return, he kept all the forms which are part of Form 1040, they all had (in our case at least) "COPY ONLY DO NOT FILE" printed over them, including Form 8889 which was a supplemental document for Form 1040. The ones he gave back were from H&R Block which consisted of 5 pages. He wasnt annoyed about it or anything, just put them back through the slot for me to keep.

So to be clear, he kept W-2 AND the tax return.

If I were you id take everything as planned in case its needed, nothing to lose by bringing more than is required as evidence.

Thanks and Good luck for your interview !

Thank you :) really nervous :( hope it's as quick and easy as everyone else's.

  6. Congrats! My interview is tomorrow at 10:30. My fiancé organised the affidavit and evidence attached together, all in one place. Everything including affidavit, W2, bank statements, employer's letter, tax returns are in there. Is this going to be a problem and will they get me to remove the one they want or will it be ok to just hand over the whole document to them??

  7. Does anyone know if we are allowed to bring a relative inside the embassy with us? Or do they have to wait outside? I obviously don’t expect them to come up to the interview window but is there a waiting area they can wait in?

do you think thats a lot of questions ? seems about typical to me, and should be easy to answer for any genuine relationship. I think the only reason she was asked about the future sister in law is because she is co-sponsor. If i had those questions id be delighted !

True. Good luck for your interview this week! Let us know how it goes! :D

  8. CONGRATS!!!! Happy for you :D They asked you so many questions, is that normal? Are they tougher on young people, or what? XD

My interview is 7th May and I'm a bit nervous haha. Hope it goes as well as yours. I wonder if there's been any denials, I haven't seen anyone post about it so I take it as a no, so that's reassuring

    on the 23rd you ?

23rd April? Is that enough time for the medical to arrive at the embassy? I was extra careful because I was told it can take between 1 week to 2 weeks to arrive. Booked mine 7 May.

I guess you'll most likely be fine! I was just being cautious and I wanted to fully prepare for it.
