Finally received my green card today and it’s actually green! Just in time to be a nice Christmas present! We’re moving to Texas at the end of January and I’m planning to start looking for a job in that area. Good luck to everyone who are still waiting. Hang in there!
Congrats to you!!! Now you can have a bit of a breather!
You interviewed for the K1 the same day as Shaun,my husband, at the consulate in Joburg. 😀
We had our AOS interview on November 18. All went well until the end where they told us that the sealed medical package that he turned in at the airport was not in his file. We are still waiting to see if they find it or if he needs to go get a new medical check. We are hoping for good news in this new year! -

Received a message from DHL, my visa will be delivered by 12:00 on Thursday 😃
Wow! So quickly! I just checked and ours is “Issued “ also, so hopefully will get a message from DHL soon too.
Yes, the whole Adjustment of Status process is going to take just as long as this one. But the good news is that the waiting is together!
I have started filling out the forms because a lot of the information is the same as the I-129f and the Affidavit of Support. Names, address history, work history, etc.

Hi, does anyone have an idea how long it takes to get your green card after getting married?
The research that I have done said that on average it is 8 months. As we all know from being on this forum, that can vary. 😀 Also, I told Shaun that a couple people from here interviewed on the same day as him and he said that he remembers your name being called. I should have told him ahead of time so he could have said hello.😀

Hi there I attended my medical in Johannesburg today as well. Doctor seemed fine and medical was over really quickly . If the doctor completed the medical and gave him the all clear, i wouldn’t stress about it. Hope everything works out for you guys 🌸
Thank you for the encouragement. He stresses a lot to begin with and with our interview appointment next week , I think his nerves are shot. He said that at the end, the doctor said he looked good to go.

Shaun had a very stressful medical exam today in Johannesburg. The doctor asked him lots of questions about alcohol and even told him that he smells like it. He is very upset about it because he hadn’t had anything to drink since a braai on Friday night. He is a social drinker but nothing out of the ordinary. Has anyone else experienced this?

Good evening everyone
I have my medical next week and was told to bring the interview confirmation letter, could someone please tell me which it is? Is it the confirmation email that states the interview date and case number, which I received after making the appointment booking?
We received an email from" donotreply@usvisa-info.com"
That had our confirmation letter. This was received after our appointment had been booked.

Yes, I will also be attending on my own. I truly hope that this is finally the last wait for both of us! You were lucky to get an appointment so soon! I think there might have been a cancellation because someone else tried booking on the same day I did and it was already filled up. Good luck to you guys sorting out the last of your paperwork!
I was really surprised to get that appointment too, based on everything else we had been seeing here. So, a cancellation makes sense.

DId you wait for the consulate in SA to email you (do they email or post?)
CAn I book with just my NVC case number in the meantime? They only sent it to SA a week ago, so may wait a while still.
I booked the day that my case status said "Ready" on the ceac website. https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx I was emailed Packet 3 a few days later.

I have my interview in the same day!
Good luck!!! I would love to be there for the interview but we just don't feel like it is the best use of our funds right now. I will be rooting for both Shaun and you from afar!

I just got our timeline updated but we got our "Ready" status on March 5 and was able to book an interview date for April 25. We are very relieved to finally have a little more of a concrete timeline. Shaun applied for his unabridged birth certificate, South African police clearance and his Korean police clearance a few weeks ago. His Korean pc is ready to be picked up and we paid to have his unabridged bc expedited so everything should be ready in time. Now we are just finishing up the items requested in Packet 3 and waiting!

We got our NOA 2!!!! We are both living and working in Korea and it was mailed to my parents house in the USA. They have been out of town for a week and came home to a I-797! The website still shows the same “case processing “ message so we were pleasantly surprised! NOA 1 was August 29 and the NOA 2 is January 14, so right at the 4.5 month mark.

We received the letter today (1/24) that stated that the biometrics would be reused. I also check the case status and it said that "fingerprints were taken."
