  1. Last year I took the year off for a break, cashed out my 401k and relaxed for a year. I applied for unemployment at the end of the year and got it, so I have been getting checks for 5 months but they are getting ready to run out soon. I used my unemployment $$ to buy things I need to start me off in my own business which I am going to start very soon.

I own a house as well that has equity built up into it.

I was thinking about bringing a statement from my bank showing my deposits and withdrawels for the year, I have adequate amounts being deposited even if they are from unemployment checks. I'm thinking maybe I should go out and get a job and ditch the unemployment because I would hate to come so far and then be turned down for our K-1 Visa because of finances.

Also, if I am self-employed for less than a year, how can I prove to the embassy that I am making money?

  2. This is what was posted for me on the USCIC website today regarding my case:

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status: Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed.

On April 25, 2007, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case is at our VERMONT SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. 60 DAYS????????????????????? DOES ANYONE REALLY THINK IT'S GONNA TAKE THAT LONG?????

I THOUGHT WHEN YOU SENT IN AN RFE IT WAS APPROVED IN A FEW DAYS?

  3. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!

I JUST RECEIVED MY RFE IN THE MAIL TODAY, THEY WANTED TO KNOW THAT I AM WHO I SAY I AM, MY MAIDEN NAME TO MY MARRIED NAME (I'M RECENTLY DIVORCED) SO I SENT IN MY MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE TO THEM TODAY AS WELL, SHOULDN'T BE LONG NOW UNTIL MY NOA2!

SOMEBODY HERE SAID THEY ARE WAITING FOR THEIR PACKET 3? I THOUGHT PETITIONERS WHO'S FIANCES ARE IN MEXICO DIDN'T GET PACKET 3'S? ONLY PACKET 4'S? AFTER I GET MY NOA2, WHAT DO I DO NEXT?

  4. I also sent a copy of my final divorce so I'm not sure that that is what they want. I'm really not sure what it could be. I didn't have a long form birth cert for myself because frankly I didn't know they existed, I've always had the same birth cerficate so I never knew of anything else, so that could be it. Nor did I sent copies of my passport, you would think they could look up your SS# to see if you are a citizen or not? Stupid.

Anyway, waiting to find out what it is.

Steven did you get the request in the mail yet? What does it say??????

  5. Steven, what did you send in your I-129F? Did you supply everything they asked for? Pics included?

I got my NOA1 on March 26th. I supplied the I-129F, both G325A's, A intent to marry letter for each of us, copy of my passport(every page), copy of my birth certificate (which to prevent fraud, has a 'void' on it when you send a photocopy, perhaps they will require me to give them an original copy of my birth certificate), copies of my passport pages with stamps from there, copies of her visas to the US (perhaps I should have copied her entire passport?, not just the visas), 14 pictures of us together, even with some very well known landmarks, copies of bank statements where I made several transactions there, copies of what boarding passes we had for both of us. Not sure what else they could possibly want.

Gosh, I can't imagine what they would want either! Hmmmmm. Well I do know that the turn-around is quick, just supply what they need asap when you find out and you should be ok. Sorry for the let down, I'm probably heading in the same direction because I haven't heard anything yet. There are those whom have already received theirs before us which is a bit discouraging. Does the email say USCIS? I keep looking in my email but I don't see anything...
