  1. I am concerned about this. While it is certainly something I NEVER EVER planned on, we did fall in love - I did try to avoid the relationship at first. I'm 44 and Edgar is 21 -- although I don't think we look all that strange together, in fact in Mexico, nobody really seemed to give a darn. Anyway, that's now what I'm here to write about. I am concerned with our age difference from the fiance visa perspective.

I have concrete evidence of our relationship, emails, msn conversations, tons of photos (go see our pics!), airline tickets, phone bills that show we talk every single day ... gosh if they want to see some of our lover's quarrels from msn I can provide that too! lol

I do not think they can deny us based on the fact of our ages, any input on this? I agree it is HIGHLY unusual and may seem like our relationship is a scam but it totally is not. We really do truly love each other, we lived together for awhile to make sure it was really what we both wanted. I have met his whole family and they love me too. Yes, some of his family members have expressed concern about the age gap but of course that is normal. I will get the same feedback from my family I am sure but we really want to be together. We have known each other since April 2006 so it has been 10 months now and I have been to Mexico twice to see him.

Any input on what you think about this and our eligibility for the K-1?

  2. Welcome Janet and Edgar!! I remember when we filed the petition, getting our visa seemed forever away, but time passed by so quickly and we are finally together. I hope your approval is speedy!

GOOD LUCK in Juarez Kristen & Efrain and bdesj!

Oh thanks all for the warm welcome! Congrats to all of you that have received your visas! I am looking forward to speaking with all of you that have done the K-1 process for your fiances in Mexico. I am going to need a lot of advice, I have been reading constantly from this site. I am just so excited about this but also do not want to screw anything up to cause a delay, that is what I am most afraid of. Edgar is now starting to fill out his G-325a to put in my I-129 packet -

I told him that I need the following for the I-129:

    Copy of his birth certificate

    Passport Photo

Signed Intent to Marry Letter (Is this a form? I just typed it myself and sent it to him based on the examples here on this website)

    Signed G-325A

I hope I got that right!

  3. I know what you mean Kat. Brazil is a huge country - same size as the continental U.S. - yet only the consulate in Rio deals with immigrant visas. My fiance lives way in the north and has to fly almost 4 hours to get to the south for the interview. He has his medical scheduled and then the interview - we'll return to the U.S. together after that.

Yup - it's a huge pain! CDJ is on the border so it's a long haul for most people and a horrible trip for people from the Yucatan. It will be amazing if Mexico City handled anything but they only process tourist visas and that's it!

This may sound like a really stupid question but they do speak spanish at CDJ correct?

  4. Ok, I went through and somewhat grouped, resized and uploaded some photos from the wedding. It was a cold, but beautiful day. It had snowed the day before, but we got nothing but sunshine (and cold). :)

I put the photos up on our website. As I said, I didn't do a lot with them, including really sort or title any of them. So they are not in order, but hopefully you will enjoy them. I have another 250+ photos that are promised to us from friends, and another 400+ to go through here on my other computer. Hopefully I will get to them soon enough.

    Enjoy!!! http://www.jakeandkathe.com

Oh how nice! I am so happy for you both! Best Wishes!!!!!

  5. Janet: You are the third person I've "met" on VJ whose fiance's name is Edgar (including mine).

    Welcome!

Thanks you guys! I am really so happy to be here !! I also cannot wait to talk to Edgar tonight to tell him all the news I learned, looks like it might not be too bad to process his visa, I am still nervous though! I can't wait to get this started!!

  6. Hi All! I am new here!! My name is Janet and my fiance Edgar is from Acapulco. I am going to be sending the I-129F petition out in a few weeks for Edgar and just ready to start the process. I am SO GLAD I found this website!!! I am also extremely nervous about the whole process. It sounds more or less like the average waiting time between sending the I-129F and the Interview is about 6-7 months is that right?

I'm a wreck already and I haven't even started yet! Oh my!

  7. I'm 24 years older than my fiance, yes I know, not something I EVER planned on but that is just the way it is - I hope I don't have a problem. I guess not because we really are in love and if they want to see a transcript of our hundreds of conversations on MSN well, they will be able to see we are definitely a couple LOL

  8. I quit my job last Feb and cashed out my pension to live off of for the year so $39,000 was deposited into my account last March and that would show on my bank records.

When I ran out (not able to find work) I applied for unemployment and got it, I am now receiving checks while I get my home business up off the ground.

I do not want to be denied on my EOS application for this, my new business promises big income within the next 2-3 months or so (while my I-129F petition is processing).

I own a house and am also part of my father's Living Trust for his estate, I have excellent credit and my bank shows steady income.

Can anyone give me any input on this?

  9. Why doesn't my fiance have to give me a birth certificate when I file the I-129F? I see the guidelines listed here only ask for my birth certificate.

Also, I find the Filing guidelines here so helpful but can anyone tell me why I cannot find similar guidelines at the USCIC website? How come they don't have anything there to tell you exactly what to include with your petition? There is more information here than there?
