Hi, I want to ask which location did u choose when u apply DS-160 online,? No matter where we are in China, we all should choose GuangZhou?  Can I choose Shanghai?

I'm not sure if you can choose other locations than Guangzhou,  we chose it because it's the closest location to us (Hainan)

I don't even remember if there are any options to choose, it has been a while since the time we filled the form

I found this after doing some searches,  but since it's not from the official embassy  website so I can't say if it's 100% true

the embassy website only stats that it will be forwarded to Guangzhou for future processing

Here is some additional information: (can you send me the link where you received the P3 from as I don't have a copy, I like to use it to help others)

This is a website that is dedicated to those who are processing a visa from the US Embassy in China. I personally don't have a lot of knowledge so "buyer be where".

    http://candleforlove.com/

From another VJ member who had firsthand knowledge provided this information.

GUZ takes on average 30 days to deliver P3, it is not electronic.

I can tell you that P3 for GUZ is only 4 line items

    1. DS-160 Confirmation Page

    2. Copy of Passport Personal Page

    3. 2 Passport style photos White Background, Well Lit, 50mm x 50mm

    4. Return the P3 instructions page

#4 is what prevents people in China from getting a head start, they want the instructions page mailed back with the requested documents.

    http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/cn-iv-visaapplyinfo.asp#KVisaPetitions

U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou when it is time to schedule an interview. K visa applicants will be notified by the U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou when it is time to schedule an interview.

An individual with an approved petition and a priority date that is current for processing (when applicable) is eligible to apply for an immigrant visa or K nonimmigrant visa. Immigrant visa applicants will be notified by either the National Visa Center (NVC)

And don't forget the help from other members here:

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/94-china/

And the Portal here on VJ for processing in China and what to expect

    http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=China&cty=Guangzhou

     or the http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/cn-iv-visaapplyinfo.asp

Don't waste time while you're waiting for P3, complete DS-160 and print confirmation page. Since you are from China(I provided your website for you below), go to the 2nd link below and click immigrant to register under K1 visa. After you register and enter info it should be clear on how to pay fee, make sure you print Bank deposit slip. just follow directions under Nonimmigrant Visa, but make sure when you register K1 is under Immigrant Visa.

    Directions go to http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/cn-niv-visaapply.asp

Register(Create Account) https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/?language=English&country=China After you register make sure to choose K1 visa under Immigrant, it wasn't an option for me under non-immigrant.

Thanks a lot for the information

and here's the picture of P3 letter  that I found

Hey it depends of the embassy, in my case never receive PACKET3, they only gave a link for the paperwork that I should present to teh interview. But I read that some embassies need packet 3.

ill look for your embassy if I can help you :)

For example in my case I dont have to mail anything to the embassy, the paperwork we need to present in the interview. The only documentation that I should do before the interview is filliing out DS160 (take the letter confirmation) and schedule my medical exam by showing my letter fo confirmation of interview

I read that for other countries is different, as I say this is so relative. If i can find any information I'll help you its China right?

    Thanks

I actually just found the P3 letter from the China sub forum and seems like it's different for different country

we are required to mail the DS-160 confirmation code, passport and photocopies to the embassy in order to process to next step

I guess our journey will be a little bit longer than others, lol

You can check that information in your embassy, I recomend to call embassy. For example for Peru's Embassy you can go with your fiance :)

    wow, that sounds great

I've been trying to google to see if there were anyone who had interview with both onsite (watching or sitting nearby is good enough for me) but most of the related answers I found were only they waited outside of the embassy

I'm also curious to know do we need to wait for any actual letter or packet (like P3 packet?) to schedule an interview date

Thanks to all the posts and all other information provided on VJ, I'm able to find the checklist and all other documents needed for the interview.

but I was also told by my fiancee that we need to wait for something from the embassy, and we need to mail some documents to the embassy to process to next step?

I can't find any similar experiences on VJ, all I've found were like they got their case ready and then schedule for the interview and then do all the documents gathering or medical exams and then they go for the interview

Still nothing from my end for 4/25 and 4/30.
A question to all those approved - did your status change only before 12:00pm on every given day or was there anyone who had a change in status update after noon time EST?

Also - when i sent in the packet - we only sent in one letter with the intent to marry with both of our signatures - i have noticed some talk about having two separate letters for intent to marry? How did you all do it? Based on the given instructions and to not have redundancy - we only made one letter and had both of us sign it. She printed it out - signed it, then scanned it into a pdf and sent it to me, and then i printed that out and signed it and put it in with the packet. Would this be an issue as to why they are taking more time I am wondering......
All other aspects were filled out. I keep wondering what the hold up is.

I saw my approval at around 10 am EST this morning (might be earlier), but our case was sent to the CA service center, so I'm not sure why was status changed that early (it's like 6 am PT ? ).

and for the letter for intent to marry, I can't guarantee that you only need send one letter but that's actually what we did and it seems to be fine.

FWIW, there's no requirement to describe how you met. There's a requirement to describe the circumstances of your in-person meeting. Which it looks like you did sufficiently.

that's what i thought, but I saw there are some people from April thread were receiving their RFE due to not providing the statement,

I remember it was like "even though you described the circumstances of meeting within 2 years,  but you didn't describe how you met" or something like "providing the evidences that proves you didn't meet through an IMB".

I went back to the I-129F form but I still don't see any related requirements.

I was concerned because all I did was just checking the answer no.

my Fiance kept complaining about I should've do more research before filling out the form (I did it in 3 hours and sent next morning), because she heard that some people are spending days or weeks for it

something more weird is that I found the latest I-129F form you can download on the K1 page expired on 08/31/2018 lol

    btw, thanks everyone

Just got my mail. Seems like my RFE will be quite simple..

I believe I am understanding what it says so I went back to visa application and here is what I had put. No personal info on this so I do not mind sharing it for the sake of help. lol

Now if I understand this correctly, seems like I just need to write them a letter stating exactly how we met and that it was not through an International Marriage Broker.

    InkedRFE Image_LI.jpg

    Inkedvisa image_LI.jpg

I'm having similar situation, I only included the statement and evidences to prove that me and my fiance have met within 2 years.

I think the question isn't very clear, I just went back to the form and I don't see any places asking for the statement of first time meeting or evidences of proving not meeting through an IMB

anyway, guess I'm expecting a RFE soon
