    Hi Kitty,

    1. You don't have to bring your W2 since you just started working. Recent paystubs and letter from your employer is sufficient.

    2. You don't have to file new affidavit if there are no major changes.

    3. Medical examination is optional.

    4. Whatever requirements you've sent for your Adjustment of Status to the USCIS, bring a copy with you. The most important evidences are proof of you genuine relationship.

( Maybe this would help for you as well ---> https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/711368-aos-interview-checklist/)

    Good luck! ;)

    Thank you Jenny!

    2. So I just have to bring the copy of Affidavit (I-864) that I've sent with my Adjustment of Status?

  2. I filed AOS on June 2019 and finally got our interview scheduled this August 2021!

They were asking for us to bring our pay stubs and a letter from employer (for both of us - me and my husband) I'm not sure if I also have to bring our W2 (since I don't have W2 yet because I just started working) Do we need to file NEW Affidavit of Support (me and my husband)?? Or I just need to bring the COPY of Affidavit of Support of my husband's that I submitted when I filed my AOS

Also, is there any checklist of requirements to bring on the Medical Examination and Interview?

    Thank you for your answer!

My husband had his medical in May 2019, and we filed the AOS in December 2019. So the form wasn't expired yet at that time and apparently that's what matters, as well as the form being marked complete.

I got confused, because this is a JUNE 2019 AOS FILERS forum, not December.

Your DS-3025 is still good, as long as the medical was done within a year of your filing for AOS, and as long as the required vaccines were done and it's marked as complete

    Yes

It went well, the officer said we were approved and should expect the green card within a few weeks! He did ask if we brought the original vaccination documentation sheet (ds-3025) from the medical, but he only looked at it and then gave it back.

Aren't you supposed to have a Medical Exam before your interview? Is your Ds-3025 from the medical in your country expired?

  5. Im a k1 visa holder, married to a US Citizen. I am renewing my EAD with pending I-485 status.

    So is it (c)(9) or (a)(9) ??

I put (a)(9) when I applied for EAD with a pending I-485 also. and it is approved.

K-1 Nonimmigrant Fiancé(e) of U.S. Citizen or K-2 Dependent--(a)(6). File Form I-765 along with evidence of your admission (for example, copies of your Form I-94, passport, or other travel document) and your K visa. You are only authorized to work under this category during your 90 days in K-1 or K-2 status. You cannot renew this EAD. If you submit subsequent EAD applications, other than for replacement of a lost, stolen, or damaged card or a card that contains incorrect data, you must apply on a different basis. If you have a pending application for adjustment of status, you should file under category (c)(9). 2. K-3

Nonimmigrant Spouse of U.S. Citizen or K-4 Dependent--(a)(9). File Form I-765 along with evidence of your admission (for example, copies of your Form I-94, passport, or other travel document) and your K visa.

  6. Here we are again with the AP application.. :D

I am applying again for Advance Parole for emergency purposes only. Im not yet planning to go out of the country.. What should I put on Part 3. Processing Information: 1 Date of Intended Departture and 2. Expected lenght of trip??

And on EAD PART 2. 27. Eligibility category? will it be the same category?

You could have renewed it up to 180 days before it expires. You won't get the renewal card before your current one expires, but since you aren't working, then it's probably not a big deal. Here are the cover letter examples that float around on the forums which we used for my husbands renewal that we sent out at the end of August:

And of course you need a total of 4 passport style photos, 2 per form. I could not find my husbands tear off portion sheet, but I don't think that's going to cause issues. Can't say for sure since his renewal forms have only been received and we didn't get any other updates yet.

Thank you! I appreciate it. I will include my status case #

I'm also applying to renew my combo card this week. It expires in February 2021, so filing 180 days before expiry.

Here's what I included for each application (I-765 & I-131 - obviously substitute Form I-131 for Form I-765 in that application) based on scanning quite a few posts that resulted in successful renewals.

    1. 2 x Passport Photos

    2. Form G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance

    3. Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization

    4. Copy of Applicant’s Passport information page and current entry stamp

    5. Copy of I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt notice of pending I-485

    6. Copy of I-797, Notice of Action, approval notice of current I-766

    7. Copy of Applicant’s current Employment Authorization Document

    8. Copy of current Employment Authorization Document tear-off portion

    9. Copy of Applicant’s I-94

Don't forget there's a new edition of form I-765 that came into effect on 25th August 2020.

    Best of luck

Hi Everyone, Hoping I can get some help / reassurance on our AOS

I received the NOA June 26, 2019 and Case is Ready to be scheduled for an Interview since 09/04/2019 - and basically no update since then. I have already sent in EAD and AP renewals.

We are in NYC which I know is long wait times but scrolling through this thread I see other NYC members have had interviews since pre covid, that have already been rescheduled and approved. I also see here https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aoslist.php?op8=New+York+City+NY that people around our filing schedule have been interviewed already.

I just want to make sure I haven't missed something here, or done something wrong? Should I be expecting a letter to schedule an interview soon, and how does someone in similar situation become so far ahead of us?

    thank you

Hi, may i know your checklist for EAD & AP renewal?

  10. Congratulations to all who had their interview! and who have an interview schedule!!

Mine has been "interview is ready to be scheduled" status since September! :(

For K1 visa applicants adjusting status, I believe you don’t need the I-693 if you applied for your AOS within 1 year of the date of your medical examination in your home country. I am hoping that is your case . At the AOS interview,  your local field office would have already received your medical results that you handed over at the point of entry. You do not have to do a new I-693. But unfortunately for some cases,  I have read that the medical results don’t reach the field office from the POE on time or they cannot locate it 🙄 and that causes delays after interview or even an RFE  where they ask you to get the medical redone in the US. But until something unfortunate like that happens, you do not need to do  the medical here. This is what I believe from what I have read a long time ago. If I am wrong, please correct me.

I know it is frustrating to wait, but don’t worry if your status is still at ‘ready to be scheduled for an interview’. I was in your situation since early August 2019 and just last month got my interview scheduled for April 9 and was overjoyed, only for it to be cancelled two days back, due to the current virus situation. My status is now back to ‘ready to be scheduled for an interview’. I don’t think they will be scheduling any interviews for the next couple of months. They will wait until this issue dies down completely

Hang in there and stay safe !

My medical exam has already expired, I got it on march 2019 back in my country. I believe when I have the interview I should bring I-693 with me.

Yes, this virus got us all up! I hope when they open again they would schedule all the waiting applicants.😊

    Thanks, stay safe!

We filed for her to adjust status last month and received an I-797C notice of receipt that says at the top "This notice does not grant any immigration status or benefit"

I want to sign her up for health insurance under the exchange and the government website references an I-797 being sufficient but doesn't say anything about I-797C.

When I was looking into getting her a state ID card I spoke to someone at the DMV who said they won't give her a state ID card with an I-797C, it has to be an I-797 or an I-797A.

Is she going to be able to get health insurance with an I-797C?  Has anyone else had experience dealing with using the I-797C to get health insurance or other benefits and that specific document being accepted or rejected?

Im not sure about health insurance under the exchange and government..etc.. but my husband put me as his dependent in his health insurance after we got married.

With the State ID card, YES you need to have the I-797 or the Approval Notice and her EAD card (if she filed any)  to prove that her status of stay is extended.

The process sounds like a huge pain in the backside.. Are you not able to make appointments for a specified time?

My beneficiary has two small children under 5 years of age that also need a medical exam.. Absolutely not going to want to get everyone up at 3am.  What is the 2x2 photo needed for and where can this be taken?  Am I as the petitioner allowed to accompany them?

It's better to go early and be finished early. You will have to wait anyway especially on the last test. My medical experience on the first day was just the right time, i leave the clinic at lunch time. You cannot bring food inside. If i remember it correctly, if you do not finish the process on the first day, because they have time cut-off, you will have to finish it on the next day.

Only the applicants can go inside. You can wait outside tho.

2x2 photo is needed. I got mine at Photoline. Just tell the photographer that it is for Visa application.
