If all goes well and your application review is good, you can expect an interview date approx 2 months later....maybe sooner. 
During my time, covid caused many delays with application processing. They should be caught up by now. 

I would have thought that having two kids is stronger evidence than, say, going on a vacation together... but if you say so.

Hi, yes! Interview scheduled for March 12. It went really fast after I submitted all the docs to NVC.. how goes it there?

I think I’m going to do exactly that. What a joke. They get paid to submit documents and they can’t even do that promptly. 

Have you made any progress yet? I got my email from NVC on 12/27 and my lawyer has done nothing. I gave him all my materials in advance. I’m extremely frustrated. What is an appropriate time frame for a lawyer to submit the materials? I feel like 3 weeks is too long and unacceptable / every week is a week I could be with my family in the USA.

Great news! Congrats. I haven’t sent anything yet.. we have a lawyer and I don’t want to do anything without checking with him first - in case he’s emailing them already. Plus it’s Xmas. If yours was done today mine should be within a week. If I don’t hear back I’ll try email them in early Jan. Thanks for letting me know. 
 
once you get the case number, do you know how long it usually takes before they send everything to the consulate?

Congrats!! I Had my interview this morning, and he told me I was approved. So now I have my fingers crossed that it goes smoothly and I get an oath notice. My status online hasn't changed at all...
