You do NOT in fact need an account for "old" site.
    https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do?changeLocale=&appReceiptNum=WAC189XXXXXXXX

You can use the link above (change XXXXX your WAC number) and see your (or someone else for that matter) case status on "old" site. That how people "scan" cases.

USCIS is just all over the place no rhyme or reason as to their procedures how they issue out approvals, it's still just a waiting game and some of us will be luckier than others. I hate to say that but that's the way it is it seems.

Vero.nica_U reacted to Greenbaum in RFE due to lack of ‘wet’ signature?
This was a question that another member, don't remember which thread, but they emailed their Embassy to find out what their ruling would be and they were told that scanned signature of both petitioner and beneficiary were acceptable. BUT, there was some one else who had just walked out of their interview and they required a wet signature from the petitioner and received a 221(g).

There is no hard ruling on this, so still depends on the Embassy. If you want to save $70 to $100 to send a wet signature by FedEx, I would recommend that you email your Embassy sooner then later to determine what their status. If you get an response, please share it with the group. If enough of you send the email, the Embassy's are gong to put that into their P3 letter and it won't be an issue.

Here is what USCIS will accept but they are part of Homeland Security while the Embassies are part of DOS (Dept of State). Two different jurisdictions.

"A signature is valid even if the original signature is later photocopied, scanned, faxed, or similarly reproduced. Regardless of how it is transmitted to USCIS, the copy must be of an original document containing a handwritten, ink signature, unless regulations or the form instructions state otherwise. USCIS will not accept signatures created by a typewriter, word processor, stamp, auto-pen, or similar device."

Let the mail go to his parents house or a friend. He doesn't need the NOA2 until after marriage and when you file for AOS. The important document is the case number. There are ways of getting that also later on when it is assigned to insure he has a copy.

Next, he should sign up for USPS scanned mail email advisory. There is a service provided by the USPS (US Postal Service) whereby each morning USPS will scan your incoming mail (just the address side of the envelope) and email you an update. It's very convenient these days to have advance notice that an important piece of mail is being delivered.  He

The service is available to most communities but some are still being rolling out so not all areas are available. Check the website with your zip code to verify your location is available for the service. A person in the USA can sign up for this free service here: https://informeddelivery.usps.com/box/pages/intro/start.action
