Still waiting for my Detroit interview, I think it will be a while yet as filed in June.

I long ago stopped having any expectation that these people will do anything fairly or correctly.
At NO point in our entire process, from the K1 Visa until now, have these people done ANYTHING right. We have been subjected to one mistake after another and outright incompetence from the start. None of our delays were the result of anything we did incorrectly.
I have said it before and I will repeat it again. This process has nothing to do with how well you prepare your evidence and documents. It is fully dependant on which person ends up with your file and if that person cares enough and is competent enough to do their job.
We have not been fortunate in that regard at any point.
I hear you, we've also had a hard time filing and then refiling for trivial mistakes.

Carl,
Geez, you've been waiting over two months now just to get the rejection letter, plus the returned 765 packet. Since we're both confident the 765's were erroneously rejected due to the "no-extra-fee" problem (I got the same answer with USCIS phone rep), I think I'm just going to resubmit a new 765 packet with a large-font cover letter explanation of the original problem and a copy of the 485 NOA. Since we know there will be at least a month delay for lockbox processing, you've already lost 3 months (2 months waiting, then another month for new lockbox processing), and I've lost 2, it seem like waiting any longer is a huge waste of time.
USCiS suggested including the 485 NOA. I think I'll make a new packet today.

I emailed Chicago lockbox on the 24th July. The standard reply was we'll get back to you within 30 days. So now it's a wait to see what comes first, the email from Chicago lockbox or my rejection notice for my I-765

Hi All,
Just received the 2 hard copy NOA's in the mail. Sure enough, one for the 485 and one for the 131, but nothing for the 765. Rats.
Oh, and oddly, the notice date is 3 days different than the notice date on the MyUSCIS site.

We're still waiting on the rejection notice for the I-765, filed June 2nd

We had this issue. Got told they don't waive the fee for both work permit and travel document when filed with a AOS. I spoke to a tier 2 officer who said this is incorrect and told me to email the lockbox.

When did you get your biometrics done? was it at your K-1 interview or did you have a different visa before filing K-1?
From a previous AOS application. We filed Aug 2019 and had biometrics September 2019. I'm a k1 filer and my AOS got rejected in February this year so had to refile.

Make sure you put (c)(9) as your eligibility category -- this is for people adjusting status via I-485.
(a)(6), which is for K-1 recipients, may seem right, but it's not. That would get you an EAD that was only valid until the end of the 90 day stay granted by the K-1, which is technically allowed, but practically impossible (it takes more than 90 days to get an EAD, and this category does require a fee).
Yes we did and I made sure she knew in the phone we was that category. She still insisted. This is the second AOS we filed. First time they said we forgot the affidavit of support and denied us. No RFE.

You can file for it again for free.
Send the I-765 again with the required evidence and a copy of the NOA for the I-485.
The only required evidence they want is about $600 extra

That's not correct. Either you made an error on one form or someone at USCIS made an error.
Can you please tell me the correct fee for the entire application?
-
I just had one of them rejected and spoke to someone at USCIS that has said they waive one of them and not both. So my work permit has been rejected
-
It used to be that when you send in the I-485 then the I-765 and I-131 (work permit and travel document) fee is waived. Is that still the case does anybody know?

Still nothing for us...No CC charge or email reply from the lockbox support when I asked about our Packet.
Just when you think you've got to a point where its less stressful...####### like this happens...
I hear you. When did you file?

Congrats to those who got texts and NOA 1 in the mail. Now we wait anxiously for the biometrics appointment

We sent on June 1st and it was received June 3rd, still no NOA or money taken out so you're not the only one!
Same here. Still waiting for the payment to be taken out of the bank and receive NOA 1

Hey guys! I sent the application June 1st and USPS says it was delivered June 3rd, still no money taken out. I sent the EAD application with it but not the advance parole, I'm freaking out now because I only put two passport photos in, I totally missed where it said they need two passport photos for the EAD too? Is this going to mess me up?? ☹️
We're in the same position, sent ours out a couple of days after you and still no money taken out. Hey to a fellow UK person 😀
