There's always a slim chance that adjustment of status may be denied.
But an alien who petitions to adjust their status via marriage to a US citizen will not be deported for an overstay.

you continue to ignore the fact that europe does not have 15 million illegal mexican and central americans in country, and that the violent crime rate is largely a product of their presence. you ignore the FBI UCS documented evidence that hispanics are 18 times as likely to commit violent crime as whites.
wanna dramatically reduce violent crime in the USA? deport all hispanic males 17-35.
actaully, the first use of firearms was in reduction of seige walls. handguns came hundreds of years later.

    VERY IMPORTANT:
Under Indian laws, a religious ceremony/wedding is deemed to be a valid LEGAL marriage in India. Unlike other places like Thailand or Vietnam. Doesn't matter whether you register it or not. I distinctly remember reading about two cases which were denied for precisely THIS reason. Please remember local customs and rules differ from one country to another and the consulates go by those rules.
Do NOT attempt to go via this path. If you have to get married in June/July, withdraw this K-1 petition and file for a CR-1 once you have the marriage certificate. The K-1 is for fiancees. Not wives.

elmcitymaven reacted to uk2usa2010 in Do i need to fill out the I-864A form?
Hi there. Your husband as the USC will always need to be the primary sponsor and fill out I-864. One of his relatives can be the co-sponsor and is also required to fill in a separate I-864. If his mother and father reside in the same household and they need to have their incomes/assets jointly considered for meeting the requirements then it would be most common for one of them to be the Co-sponsor (I-864) and one to fill out the Contract between Sponsor and Household Member (I-864A). This may not be necessary if one of them meets the requirements on their own. Take a look at the notes at the front of each of the forms and also the Poverty Guidelines (I-864P) and see what works for you.
    Hope this helps.

I was one of those old-timers who left -- I spent six months away from VJ because I was so fed up with the level of invective, vitriol and condescension being thrown about in the upper forums. I don't really know why I came back, but back I am. In general, I try to be minimally polite when I say "read the guides, f*cktard." You'll find most of my posts are helpful and welcoming as much as possible.* I don't get my rocks off by assuming that by belittling people is going to make me VJ Royalty. (Hell, I'm hardly even near the gates of the palace. I'm too busy in the pub.) I too don't agree with spoonfeeding, but if one person says "start with the guides," why should I pile on and repeat it?
I don't know, it's SUCH an old refrain that VJ ain't what it used to be, that no one thinks for themselves anymore, etc etc ad infinitum ad nauseam. But really? The level of bare-faced aggression in response to ignorance is staggering.
(*I will except the vibrator sh*tstorm of 2009, but how could anyone resist that one?)

A fifth grader can fill out forms, it's the understanding of content that they are providing and attesting to that this information is correct, is the problem when the USC didn't bother to read the guidelines to try to have a good understanding of them before they posted their question(s). This process is not just about filling out a form, it's about the USC understanding the visa process, along with their responsibility and obligation to their SO/husband. When a poster comes on this board and start crying about how can I send my SO back home after they have gone thru this process, this comment tells anyone with good common sense that the USC did not truly understand the intial process. You are not buying/leasing a SO or a husband, so there is no sending back or returning them as if they have brought a shirt from a department store. Are they truly aware of the 10 year commiment they have commited themselves to when they have signed the I-864 Affidavit of Support Form, I bet most people don't.
The people who post on VJ are only a small fraction of the people who are going thru the immigration process everyday there are alot more being processed and approved without the aid and assitant of VJ. Those who post here needs to understand that VJ is a FREE service being offered by those who have gone through the process and fellow VJ's want to give something back to those who are now going thru it.
"Maybe I should mock your use of irrelevant punctuation marks to prove my point?" This is what started the discussion in the first place,(rudeness) therefore if this makes you feel like the bigger person go ahead and make your point. P.S. Since you took my comment and anyone elses comment as a personal attack against you, I think it's your problem, not mines.
The one piece of advice I would give to any USC is to understand what a hugh commitment this is for them.
One of the things that everyone needs to understand, Rules changes everyday, that's why is is important that the guidelines are read.
I have gone thru the process and I am truly comfortable with my end result and my understanding of the process. Also I am aware that the information that I have supplied to Home Land Security will follow us until he becomes a citizen of the US so yes both of us have better been involved in this process.

I haven't seen the post in question, so I can only respond to this in the general sense. You say you posted advice when you first joined, and in my experience that's almost always a bad idea. Not because you will be picked on, but because you will most likely be wrong. I see it all the time. New member is excited to be a part of the community and wants to help. They see a question they KNOW the answer to, but because of their inexperience, they're actually completely wrong. Or they're a little bit wrong. Or they're right, they get positive feedback from others, and it emboldens them to think they know more than they do, so they start handing advice out like it's free candy. And then they can't figure out why everybody is being so mean to them over such a trivial detail as being slightly wrong.
This may not have been your case, but it could explain why you were "picked on."
The best advise I have for a new member is to ask questions. Not necessarily lots of questions, but ask pertinent questions. And READ READ READ READ READ. Read until your eyes bleed. And only after you REALLY understand the process should you venture out into the "offering advice" waters. Your one little mistake may not be so bad in the big scheme of things, so it may seem unfair for people to jump right in the middle of your ####### for it. But when 10, 20, 30 or more new members are out there slinging around advice with "little" errors, it adds up, and it makes the waters murky. And so when people come across yet another post that, for example, confuses the requirements for primary and secondary evidence, and have to correct it for the umpteenth time, you can kinda see why people get grumpy.

He should be banned. I've been on this site a very long time and no longer help in the upper forums as I've more or less forgotten most of what I used to know, but I did help once upon a time and I did get help once upon a time. No one in my memory was ever that rude. That level of condescension should simply not be acceptable no matter how smart one is perceived to be.

I mean the Taliban animals do this to woemn and it MUST be "OK" because liberals who hate women (wouldn't even nominate Hillary or elect Martha Coakley) are against a war there to liberate women and children.

When I discovered VJ in 2008, I was so ecstatic, because I was days from paying an Attorney specializing in Immigration to do my paperwork. Lateley, I have seen more and more rude, uncaring, condensending, etc. attitudes here. From what I have been reading, it seems to come from mostly those, the Petitioners, who have gotten their fiancee/fiance to the states already, and those are the ones, in my opinion, that seem to be the rudest when posting and thinking they are giving good advice. To me, these posters might as well be calling the ones coming to VJ for help and/or assistance dumbasses because that's what I'm detecting in their tone of voices when posting. It's like they have a damn degree in law and specialized in Immigration matters. I feel these rude posters that have been on VJ a while feel like they are God's gift to VJ. Remember, you are the master of yourself and don't be arrogant when posting. I'm just coming to the defense of those who have been talked down to, and you can tell the person that came here for help felt the same way because they are posting rebuttal comments, as well as others reading their posts, and I quote "there is no need to be rude" as one example, and too, some comments come across as such. You made your bed, now lie in it. There is no need for such comments, and yes, I'm good at reading between the lines for those who make such comments although you're not spelling it out in such a way.
I am thankful though for VJ because it has guided me to where I am now. Married, and about to do the AOS this month.

Well a gun is more portable than a radial arm saw, and you have a much better chance of hitting somebody with a bullet than you do throwing a radial arm saw at them, for starters. Better range on a Glock than a Skil too, I'd bet, what with that stupid extension cord and all. But you and I KNOW why people want to ban guns. Except for the very fringe idiots who you will never make see the light, people want to ban guns because they lack education.
No, actually a lot of folks don't know to use caution around tools and machines. MOST people are predisposed towards caution, but many aren't. That's why you need a license to drive a forklift. It's why responsible companies have ongoing training programs where about every 6 months or so you have to sit through a boring class on why it's important not to stick protruding body parts into the big machine you operate daily. It's why the good doctors keep going to conferences and reading journals about their specialty.
Lack of education. Lack of willingness to understand. Eagerness to turn a very complex issue into black and white. (your and my crowd have the last 2 issues too.)
Ahhhh. Well this is probably the best I can hope for then. At a gut level you know that requiring people to be educated before handling a firearm would be the right thing to do, but your dogged persistence of believing that 2A is somehow handed down from almighty Gawd and therefore untouchable holds you back. You'd rather put your trust in a piece of paper written by infallible human beings than use your own ability to think and reason. But that's also the answer your question, "why do people want to take our guns away?". People on the other side believe just as strongly that guns are evil and must be taken out of our hands. Some of them even believe God wants them to take your guns away. Neither side wants to compromise for "sensible legislation," and so it goes. This is what frustrates me so much about our side. Both sides have good points, but nobody wants to listen.

First, you are not on a K3 visa path. K3 is dead. Your I-130 will take you down the CR1 visa path.
Only the beneficiary is required to go to Juarez
Because the Consular staff can live in the USA (El Paso, TX) and commute to work every day.
You may choose not to immigrate to the USA. Nobody is requiring you to do so. There are lots of things people find inconvenient, distasteful and even dangerous during the US immigration process all over the world. For example, my wife and daughter live relatively close to the only US Consulate in all of China, that processes family based visas. It was only a 14 hour overnight train ride followed by negotiating the maze of pick-pockets and other scum at the Guangzhou East train station. For some in China it's three full days or more on the train and they need to stay in GUZ for a week or ten days.
It sounds like you are well informed about what's ahead and you have months to make the needed preparations and arrange for any precautions. I suggest you use your energy to that end as the circumstances will not change.

Pushbrk, you are being quite rude. Nobody said they were not going to Juarez. Our loved ones are all going to put their lives in danger and walk across a street where people get shot on a daily basis and where the US tells its own citizens it is not safe to be. We all know what it takes to put together an Immigrant Visa section, and the US should long ago have moved that part from Ciudad Juarez instead of just recently building a new "consulate." If you don't have anything helpful to say besides flippant comments about not having to come to the US, you should not post. Next time I'm going to report you.
I quote the TOS: you agree that when using the service you will not: Make comments in a Post either direct or implied toward another member that are purposely designed to upset, antagonize, make fun of, belittle, or otherwise instigate an argument that takes away from the personal enjoyment of the Service by other users.

I've been thinking... there seem to be more UK DCF people than there used to be a few years ago. Seeing as our fellow Anglophone DCF folks from Canada and Australia have their own threads to commiserate, pass on knowledge and hang out, why don't we start our own? We filed three years ago -- !!! -- but I'm still in this forum all the time to help out, since there were some wonderful people to help me then.
So... let's get the ball rolling! And just maybe, given enough interest, we can get this pinned in time.
