It's always best to wait till visa is in hand. Or make sure it's transferable ticket.

Seems it's cheaper for a return ticket. Make sure u cancel return leg of flight

    Thank you.

I was going to book a ticket that allows me to change the date for a small fee if it is necessary.

For the return flight, should I cancel before the ongoing flight?

@Gamisha to your question earlier, my fiancé went to pick up the bank statement signed by an officer. So, first a manager had to do it then they said today the manager has to get it approved by another department but can pick up tomorrow. So here’s what we got: It’s going to say the date account was opened and the present balance and use the statements as the total amount deposited. Bank is BB&T. Hope this helps! :)

    Hey.

Thank you. My fiancé already got the bank letter pretty easily actually. But in the bank letter there was only the date the account was opened and the present balance and not the amount deposit deposited in the last year. But, as you said, we figured out we can use the statements. Thank you though for your update. :)

I would love for my fiance to come visit until we get our NOA2 or close to it, but as of right now, he is unemployed. He's taking community college courses but I'm worried it's not enough if he gets interviewed in secondary. The first time he came to visit, before the K1, he was in secondary for a while (new passport) but I'm just afraid he would be turned away after an 18 hour flight. Has anyone had luck with a month or two visit but with no employment? What else could he possibly use for ties to home?

    Read my post above.

  4. Hello everyone,

I would like to share my experience. I visited my fiancé in September for 20 days. We filed our K1 in February and we actually got our NOA2 the day I got to the US (we didn't know then). I was pretty nervous, especially because I am currently unemployed, I don't own a real estate and I am not paying any rent. So I had with me bunch of documents that showed that I still have ties to my country (Italy), like bank accounts, bonds, saving accounts. My final destination was SEATTLE and I chose on purpose to get in SEA airport as my POE, but unfortunately on my journey I missed one connection and I ended up entering US in Minneapolis airport (MSP). But everything went smoothly. I was traveling with ESTA so i was able to do the computer kiosks and the cpb officer asked me of course what was the purpose of my visit. I was super honest and I said immediately "to visit my fiancé" and he kinda joked around the fact that I was too young to get married etc. At the end he asked if I was going to move to the US or if my fiancé was moving to Italy, I said that I was in the middle of the k1 visa process and he was happy I was going to be an expat like him. Everything lasted probably 3/5 minutes. No evidences or questions about my ties to Italy were asked.

    I hope I was helpful.

Doesn't it say USCIS number? I went back in to the application form and this is what the tooptip says:

    Application Receipt/Petition Number

Your application receipt/petition number was given to you by the Department of Homeland Security’s United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) after you filed your petition application at a USCIS Service Center. The application receipt/petition number is 13 characters long and the first three characters are letters.

That's what I was going to post.

I read around and Apparently the application receipt is the USCIS # and the petition receipt is the NVC #. So either one is good. :)

  6. Hello everyone,

can I ask a question regarding the I-134?

So my fiancé is filling it and we have two doubts:

    - on part 3, question 8b does he have to put any debt he has or only one related to real estates? he does have a student debt. That's it. No real estate or debt/mortgage related to it.

    - on part 3, question 29, the date of filing is the NOA1 date?

I bet those two questions have been answered already in some other forum, but I looked and I couldn't find. I would be grateful is someone will clarify. Thank you

  7. Hello,

my fiancé is filling the i-134 form for our K1 visa. We are not sure what date to put in part 3 question 29, the date of filing the visa petition. Is it the date of our NOA2?

Also, in part part 3, question 8.b, my fiancé doesn't have any mortgage or real estate property but he has a student debt, does it put the amount of his student debt there?

    Thank you

Look 3 post prior for number.

U can call all u like. Most call after 10 days for nvc number

    can start ds160

should have been gathering needed info for along time now. Best to get going on it now.

Thank you for your prompt answer.

I guess NVC doesn't really notify if you don't call, right?

I didn't gather my criminal records yet because I know it is a time sensitive info and I thought it should have been dated as close as possible to the interview and in Italy I can get my criminal records in few days.

After I fill the DS-160, can I even start to schedule my appointment for the interview or should I wait to hear from the Embassy?

    Thank you again.

  10. Hello,

I am new. I have a bunch of questions (probably the majority of them have been answered already - I am sorry).

We got our NOA2 on September 5th, we still haven't heard from NVC. But now I am not even sure if we were supposed to be contacted from NVC. Were we supposed to call?

Also, am I supposed to do something meanwhile? DS-160? Can I do it before I get the letter from the embassy? Can I start gathering my criminal records or should I do that when I hear from the embassy?

    Thank you
