235 Days....woooo😳   That sounds unbearable... teach me the mastery of patience for you must be a 5 degree black belt ... how did you manage..

I believe you are right in your thoughts- the whole process is loooong and that is even before arriving in the US - reading up on EAD and adjustments of status makes the NOA2 seem like an easy warm up.

we must remember still to be greatly appreciative of the possibility - afterall we are privileged that we get the opportunity.

I hope I will remember this statement in years to come...

VisaJourney and it's great group of people were a big help. We keep our conversations short and stayed busy with daily life.

Yes...Immigration medical exams, civil surgeon, shots, shots & more shots(which insurance doesn't covers...it's out of pocket),bio-metrics,SSN,marriage and the big one all before the 90 days are up....I-485 AOS. That form requires many duplicates of documents you've done already(I did it for 2 people $1,975.00). Then you get to wait some more till you get an interview for the greencard (3 month minimum). If your English is not good BRING AN INTERPRETER! We didn't the first time and she couldn't answer the questions so we had to reschedule. Approved and greencard in hand which approves EAD and AP. Now you can relax for the next 2 years and get on with your new life.

Trying to. We’re on day 75 and it feels likes it’s been forever.

It seems like forever but once the NOA2 arrives you forget about the wait. So many more things you'll have to do you'll miss just waiting. Best of luck to all as I wait for my friends approval. We had to wait 235 days before receiving our NOA2  (Dec 15,2017 filer)

  3. Dealing with the same thing...went to AOS interview (rescheduled-need interpreter) and they said you have to wait till you receive the green card. Then you can go back to SSN and they will correct the name. You MIGHT be able to go to SSN and use your marriage certificate to have them EDIT the name because of marriage. It would have worked for us but the visa stamp expiration date was less then 2 weeks and the system wouldn't take the change.

Here are the instructions for completing the I-129f. I think that will explain it in a little more detail and a way to understand what they are looking for. Hope this helps.

Item Numbers 8.a. - 8.j. Your Mailing Address. Provide the address where you would like to receive written correspondence regarding this petition. Indicate whether your mailing address is the same as the place you reside (physical address).

Item Numbers 9.a. -12.b. Your Address History. Provide the addresses for the places you have resided over the last five years.

Since my mailing address was the same I left physical address 1 blank and continued history in physical address 2

    Hi guys!

My fiancé and I are actually together right now working on the packet. :D

    (See attached photo)

I was wondering about the mailing and physical address part. If the answer is yes to item 8.j, do we put the same address again in physical address 1? Or 2? Because the address history instruction says put the physical address first if it's different from the mailing address.

If the mailing and current address are the same leave 9A blank

  6. The government has been a little quiet since 8/8/2018 when I got my NOA2. Then today I received this "The National Visa Center sent your K1 visa petition to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam" Guess things are moving again. For all those who are still waiting for the K1 (pre-approval for the DS-160) I know the pain but keep patient, it will come...only to wait even more for the next steps 😞

Here is some information including the Embassy P3 for you to get a head start

    https://vn.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/required-documents/

Usually you will not receive the P3 letter in the mail. Do an online service request. They will respond typically in 2 -3 days with the instruction (P3). You will need to submit D-160 and pay the visa fee, then schedule the medical afterward. Technically, you will need the P3 to complete the medical exam, although some have gotten by with just the interview confirmation. I wouldn't risk it and would just request that they email it to you via: https://vn.usembassy...a-inquiry-form/  When using the form be sure to add in the comments section the last 4 digits of your SSN or they will email you back asking for it which causes further delays.

I also have 1 child coming
