This has me kind of worried as we don't have any evidence like this since my husband still doesn't have an SSN.  EAD has still not come through (and the processing dates just jumped from late Oct BACKWARDS to Sept 18!!!) Because of that we have been unable to get a joint bank account, all bills are in my name and he bought the house with inheritance and it is only in his name.  I think the only thing we have with both our names is the insurance bill. The only other evidence I am thinking might be useful is that we attended a marriage course for which we will get a certificate and we have friends that will vouch for our relationship. Online it says they have scheduled an interview for us but will have to wait to receive to letter to know when it is.

I’m not sure if there’s a Bank of America location in your area but I know that they open joint account without SS. Also you can sign up for Costco membership, Amazon prime, maybe add your name to a bill of some sort.

    No update here either.

I won't stress, I already got so many minor health issues because of all that stress over the last years (nothing bad, but never had that before). I am done haha - wife and I did everything we could to our best knowledge. Best of luck! :)

I’m not stressing over it either. That’s the same thing I told my husband. When was your interview?

  3. INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE

hi guys so as you all know I had my interview on Tuesday may 21, at the Queens office in Manhattan. Got there at 9:35 our appointment was at 10:30. We went thro security. We waited about an hour then get called in. A gentleman conduct the interview. Most of the questions were directed to my husband. It was intense and most of them repetitive. I’m so proud of my hubby as he knew all the answers and even dates that I thought he would have forgotten. My interview lasted about 30-45 mins.

    Prove we have together

    Joint lease

    bank statement

    phone bills

    joint Tax

    joint credit card

    (he kept them all)

some of the questions he ask my husband. (US citizen)

    Whats your wife madden name

    SPELL your wife middle name

    whats your wife phone number

how did you meet your wife

    How long before you propose

Do you have wood floor or carpet

    what kind of furniture

    stainless steal fridge?

    Describe your countertop

    spell your step daughter’s name

    where was your wife born

    What’s your landlord name

id i call the landlord now would be say you guys live together?

    my question (Applicant)

    where was your previous address

my date of birth and how old I am.

Thats it for me. But a lot for my husband

overall i honestly think we did well. And we asked him how we did and he said we did good but give us the famous receipt saying held for review. He did say though that we should expect a mail in a week.

I’m not going to give you the advice that if your marriage is legit then you will be fine because even if it is they will still ask you questions. It’s up to the immigration officer and the mood he’s in. Our marriage is 💯 real.

just pray and keep getting to know each other. Breathe and don’t stress yourself

I will post again as soon as I hear the outcome. Let’s hope it’s not another long wait.

Everyone my status just changed to interview was cancelled. My interview is scheduled for today.

Anyone in the queens office let me know if they got something similar. I know a few others had an interview scheduled for today. I hope it is some kind of mistake. I am going to call them once the office opens.

    Thanks

    Philip

Omg that’s crazy at the last minute. Ridiculous. Mine is at 10:30 haven’t received any cancellation. If I were you I would still show up at my interview.

Nobody's evidence will be identical, but I think a lease is a great strong piece. Coupled with other things, I can't see there being an issue about the seal.

I think a bit of nerves are healthy...I've definitely felt them. But I'm confident with our evidence, and the fact that we're a real couple lol. I'm just very keen to get it over with and have USCIS behind us, at least for two-ish years!

Yes same here just want to get it over with. All the best with your interview tomorrow. I may see you. My appointment is at 10:30😊

My husband and I don't have a joint lease since we live in an co-op apartment owned by his parents (we pay his father, who pays the rent to the co-op...you can see these transactions on the statements I've submitted, so I highlighted them in case they're relevant). We have a number of things with both our names and our shared addresses, but no formal lease.

I'm bringing a good amount of new evidence to make up for it: wills/power of attorney/healthcare proxy, updated bank statements, IRS joint tax return transcript and copy of check with both names, health insurance cards and a bill with both our names, new photos from the time when we filed, and an Airbnb booking for a family trip with both our names on it.

I don't know if it's overkill or not, but I want to be prepared for anything!

Wow you do have a lot of evidence. I also feel that I’m prepared and do have evidence,  Only this is missing is the seal from a JP on my lease. Overall I’m feeling nervous lol don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing.

I just saw from your signature that you only got married two days before I did but also filed FOUR months before I did. It must be really frustrating. Seems I lucked out living in Queens...

My interview is tomorrow morning so hoping all goes smoothly, and fingers crossed that you get some good news soon!

My interview is also tomorrow morning queens office. Are you taking a joint lease and is it stomp by a JP. Mine isn’t 😫

    Hey guys!

I hope everybody is doing well.

I had my green card interview on March 14th (almost two weeks ago). The interview was in downtown Manhattan. We live in Brooklyn, NY. It's marriage based, my wife is the US citizen. It went pretty well and smooth. We had all the documents needed. The officer was a she. Latina woman. I gave her everything she asked for,  she took  5 photos out of the 14 i brought with me. I don't live with my wife currently, and I explained to her why and she seems to understand it. We had a pleasant conversation. She asked me about my job, found out I'm a comedian, she seemed to like that. Ask for my lease. Took my fingerprints. Then we asked for what's next t the end and she gave me the paper that says "under review" and they will be in touch. Obviously I was disappointed not to get it on the spot. But I later found out that that's very common for people . So i guess I'm waiting because there isn't much else to do.

But I wanted to share here and hear from similar folks, because I've heard stories about people who were under review then got it 2-3 days later, or a week later. I've also heard stories  of people having to wait 8-12 months in limbo. That seems crazy.

If you have some experiences with that, I'll be glad to hear you guys. It will definitely help with the waiting anxiety.

Hello. Any update? We’re you approved?
