  1. Hi I wonder if someone had the same experience,I think I’m just drained by the process even if i know that it’s a lot of people waiting too. May God bless you.

After a long time, we finally had our interview Wednesday ,November 20 at 8:30 in Kendall, Florida. We married since 1 year. I don’t even know what to say, I prepared all the papers, I have so many proofs and all documents they asked and the officer  didn’t ask for nothing. We had an very nice officer , but I’m really disappointed and scared. He was going through our informations then He was reading questions, I had to answer yes or no, and then the officer talk with my husband about his job and they started to talk like they was friend, I was just seating with all the proof in my hand I was like when he is about to ask me questions, and check our photos. He asked us one question where did you both met?
He had a big folder with my papers since the beginning then he just said « so do you want add something in your folder ? Because it’s pretty thick » so I only gave him bank joint accounts, that’s all I gave him. Then the officer said « ok so the process is that they are going to review your case and you will get an answer in 40 days, I will make sure to speed the process. »
And it was done. I don’t know what to think.

I expect to have questions, I expect him to checks photos, but nothing he asked nothing. I’m really scared and drain by the process :(

Some of you are probably waiting more and probably in worst position i feel like I complain, I’m sorry about that. I just hope to read someone who have been in the same position, I hope you don’t give up, this is very hard for a lot of us, keep faith I promise to you it’s almost done!

Our green card interview is tomorrow. Freaking out just a little bit! For good luck we went and got flu shots today (that was the one vaccine he didn't get) just in case lol. For my very needle-phobic husband, it was a big event. Anything last minute I haven't thought of? Hope it goes smoothly!

You will make it ! Almost there ! 🙏🏼

    Fingers crossed!

My wife is an early March EAD filer and we are still waiting for approvals for her I-131 and I-765 as well, so you are not alone in this grueling waiting game.   It is difficult seeing others who filed after to not only have received their EAD card, but their green card as well, while we sit and check the mailbox every day looking for only the EAD card.

To answer your question above, you will only need to attend an interview prior to receiving approval for your green card.  The EAD card (permission to travel and/or work) does not require an interview.   When you can expect to be scheduled for an interview is partly dependent on your "local" field office that your case will be assigned to.    As an example, my wife's I-485 (application for AOS/Green Card) changed to "Ready to be Scheduled" about a month ago.  But being we are assigned to the San Francisco office, we expect to wait another 12 to 18 months to be scheduled.

In the mean time, if you have not done so already, you can submit a case injury via phone or web for your I-131 and/or I-765.   It seems debatable if doing so will do any good, but it is about all you can do.   I did and am crossing my fingers we will get the approvals very soon.

If you are not already aware, you can check the "offical" processing times here: https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/,  but take them for what they are worth, because they are, for many of us, meaningless.  😕

Thank you so much for your answer, help a lot! I wish you and your wife to received updates very soon! Courage courage courage ! We will make it !

April filer here -- I was in your situation 2 weeks ago. Since 60 days has passed without any update, you can call them to inquire. I called on my 60th day from RFIE Response Received and a Tier 1 confirmed that I can open a service request because it had been 60 days. 9 days later my status updated to Case is Ready. Not sure if the call had anything to do with it but it's worth a try.

As for the birth certificate RFE, I believe something happened on their end because I sent the exact same copy of my BC as the initial submission and they accepted it. 🙄

Hi! Yes this is exactly what we did this morning, we called, really nice tier make an service request for us, 70 days since they received our response he told us 5-30 days to received an answer, about the RFE yes I think this too, a lot of people had this problem, well I hope everything will be good for you! Courage !

I did that and was told that there would NOT be another status update until it changed to "Ready to be scheduled for an interview"

Im so tired of this sh*t, how they can think that it’s normal that’s someone wait that long without working, even the processing time they do not respect it, I know 100 % that I put my birth certificate with a good translation, they still send me an RFE, and this happens to a lot of people, honestly I’m losing hope, I miss my mom a lot in France, what they do it’s not fair, so because we have an RFE we can’t make an inquiry?

And Ready to be scheduled for an Interview, how long it’s take? It is for the green card ? Or for the work and travel, I’m lost

Honestly i see people who are waiting so long, that a shame, courage to everyone

Hi,I'm an April filer.I just wanted to inquire how long it takes after USCIS notifies you that they have received your RFIE to case scheduled for interview?Do they send you a paper notification that they have received the case? The wait is too long, just tired of waiting,waiting...Anyone out there with the an estimate time?

    Thank You!

Yea same situation, i filled out the papers March 29, I received an RFE birth certificate June 27 , they received the response  June 2, since then no update, I don’t even know what going on after that, «  Scheduled for interview » is that for the Green card ?

I’m not sur, but I think the EAD/AP don’t need an interview

@NayRey Hi, did you receive any updates after you submitted the evidence?

I got my RIEF yesterday, haven't seen the hard copy yet but I'm pretty sure it's about birth certificate as well. So I'm curious about what happens after you give them what they asked.

Hope you already got your interview date schedules and thank you for any inputs.

Hello! No any updates yet.. today it’s been 1 month since I submitted it, I don’t really know how long time it takes, I’ve seen 90 days, 60 days, some people in 3 weeks, It’s really depends,  I've seen a lot of people getting the birth certificate RFE, everything will be fine, patience and hope, I will give any update !

  9. Hello! We are March filers, we send our papers on March 29, we got an RFE June 20 about my birth certificate ( that I’m 100% sur I put in 3 copies with translation)  they received  our respond on June 2 now we wait... did someone have the same experience ?

How long does it take generally?

Also, courage to everyone the wait it’s not easy, keep faith, do your best..🙏🏼

I received this exact letter too send in my birth certificate again, I didn’t have to translate as in from the UK. I just sent them back two copies of my BC, which I copied at a Fedex print store this time. I also wrote a nice letter stating this is a certified copy of my original BC etc.

At first i thought they just lost mine but now I’m seeing at least 4/5 people have had the same letter from April filers all around the same time. I’m thinking it’s a slight way to delay on uscis end.

Anyway just resend  your original copy and your translation copy, make sure you meet their requirements and I’m sure you will be fine.

Yes that’s what I‘m thinking too! Thank you for your message! Everything will be fine, courage🙏🏼

I can't help with the specific documents, but I can point you at the official list of what they are looking for:

    https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/France.html

Is that exactly what you sent? if so, they likely lost/misplaced it. If not, be sure you send them the document described above.

Thank you very much for your help! The site help me! Yes i send everything like they asked, and I still received this letter so I send it back the way they wanted

Why did your parents had to get you new Birthday certificate? You didn't send an original to USCIS, did you? Also, translation have to be certified. We did self certified transaltion and it was good enough, but it should have some sort of certification statement on it.

Hi! Because I wanted to refresh my BC with a updated date, I had a certified translation too from the site REV that I used for the K1 too, I send it the way they wanted, I don’t know why they send me this letter. I sent this afternoon my birthday certificate and translation with updated date, and a cover letter, let’s see  !

  13. Hello! I hope someone can help me because I don’t really find informations about it... we submitted our AOS in March 29, we received an RFE about my birth certificate, I’m 100% sure that I submitted my birth certificate with a complete translation, but they ask me to send my birth certificate with a translation again. My parents got me a new Birth certificate from France and I did again the translation, is that enough ? Or should I had something else? I’m confused about this, did someone already had this problem ?

I attached the letter that we received below

Thank you very much for your time

  14. Hello! I have a questions, I hope someone can answer... I came to the US in November 2018, we got married on 22 January 2019, and we about to send the AOS, and all the forms in few days, but my l94 is expired soon on 31 March... is that a problem?

Is it considered as a overstay?

Also, about the medical record. I had my medical vaccination in France did I have to book an appointment with the doctor in USA and filled the form I-693 with the I-485 ?

    Have a good day!

Hey there Nayrey, Congrats to you and so not to worry because even my fiancee in the Philippines had her interview and was not asked to see the I-134 affidavit either so that will come later when we file the I-186 affidavit of support when we do the adjustemnt of status. So for now just relax and wait for your visa and then after wards you can book your flight to the US.

Hi! Thank you a lot! Congratulation for you too!  Have a good day :)

  16. Hi!

I got my interview at Paris Embassy today. I get approved! Everything was so fast, he asked me questions, then tell me congratulation you will received your visa in 10 days. I say thank you and i left fast because I was happy to share the good new with my mom and my fiancé, but then I asked question to myself

He never asked me to show him the I-134 affidavit of support ! And I don’t know if I had to sign something before I left, why he didn’t ask me for the affidavit of support ?

Hi I have the same problem that you. But you need to figure out if you need the letter to schedule the interview or get the medical exam, as i do. If you don't, check on the NVC web page  the requires you will need at your interview.

    https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/iv-dv-supplemental/PRS-Paris.pdf

The other advise i can give you is to try to get in touch we other members of the forum which had had the interview already so you can ask them for a copy of their letter.

    ;)

Thank you so much for your answer. So I called them again, and this time a woman told me that on her computer my case ready, so we completed my account then she asked me to paid the fees and choose a date. I waited 1 month for a letter or email that’s I never received ! I scheduled  my interview just today! It’s weird I really thought that I will received a letter but finally I scheduled without any letter...

Did you received the letter or email?

Also i wish you great things for your interview ! For you and everybody🙏🏼

    Nay,

  18. Hello! I’m in the same situation, I’m from France. And in 2016, I get denied the entry and they put me in detention( traumatism). The reasons was I came too early on my esta and they had suspicious about work. ( i didn’t work that what I kept told them) they kept me more than 24 hours in detention and sent me back to France. On December 2017, my fiance and i filled the form we get approved 7 months later, soon I have my interview it’s frustrating.. I hope they don’t denied the visa because of the denial entry.... good luck for you, keep hope🌺
