Two weeks ago I was concerned and extremely disappointed my oath could be cancelled.  I was somewhat contented my April 1st Interview would still go ahead.  Now, I don’t care if all this is placed on hold for months.  I don’t want to go anyplace where I could unknowingly infect a vulnerable person or contract and spread the virus to my loved ones, neighbors and those who could die from it.  It’s not worth it.  Protecting my family and community is my priority right now.

Me too.. we have waited this long...what is a few more months ...best of luck and be safe. I still have not gotten a cancellation but most likely will.

Wife just received an email from USCIS indicating that her interview is cancelled. I also sent a message to USCIS via myuscis.gov and they responded today that interview is cancelled.

    Here is the email:

    Dear Stakeholder,

To ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of our workforce, and in order to comply with local policies regarding Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) may need to cancel and reschedule in-person appointments and oath ceremonies at field offices. If you are receiving this notice, it is because we have cancelled your appointment or ceremony.

USCIS will send a separate notice with information about rescheduling the appointment or ceremony. If you don’t receive a new appointment notice in the next 90 days, please reach out to the USCIS Contact Center. If you receive this notice and had an InfoPass appointment at the field office, please reach out to the USCIS Contact Center to be rescheduled.

We hope this information is helpful. If you have any additional questions, please do not respond to this email but reach out to the USCIS Contact Center. To learn more about the Department of Homeland Security’s response to the coronavirus, visit their Coronavirus (COVID-19) webpage.

    Sincerely,

    USCIS Contact Center

Bummer.. where was her interview going to be? I also expecting a cancellation message.. mine is in 9 days

My wife who is about half way through her 2-year green card has had a job with a school district as a para since last fall.  With the looming Coronavirus stuff, we are anticipating that she'll likely get laid off for at least a couple of weeks and potentially more.  During that period it sounds like she might be eligible for unemployment but we're wondering if that could impact that removal of restrictions coming up next year.

I was just wondering the same. I am a permanent resident. My N400 interview supposed to be in 12 days but most likely get cancelled because of Virus... anyways my job has been so slow we are probably going to get lay off very soon and probably need unemployment but afraid it may affect my citizenship. :(

Hello, I got my appointment letter. One of the documents it says I must bring is:

“Your spouse's birth or naturalization certificate or certificate of citizenship.”

We don’t have that. We have his passport. I thought that was what we needed. Have you of you showed up at the interview with only the spouse’s passport? Would that be ok?

    Thanks,

    :)

When is your interview? We got my husbands USA birth certificate sent to us..maybe ask your spouse to get a copy

I received the notice of naturalization oath ceremony in the mail today. It's scheduled for March 10th.

The funny thing is that current case completion time still says "May 2020 (3 months)" and estimated wait time: 4 months. 😆 😄

It has been less than 3 months from filing to oath ceremony. Didn't think it would go so fast!

My naturalization ceremony is 1 week before the presidential primary election in Arizona. I am a bit sad that I won't be able to vote :( But I'll vote in August and November :) I look forward to it!

Congratulations! I can’t wait .. 26 days until my interview and hoping for same day ceremony ...

    Hi,

I hope y'all are doing fine. I have a couple of questions. Please, I need some help:

    1. I am applying for my citizenship now. I just came to know of thing called selected service system. I came to the US when I was 25 and you know the first year is always the toughest. You wait for GC, look for a job, get the driver’s license, getting to know the system etc. Now that, I have to come to know of this thing about getting registered with SSS. Only if I had known, I would have also taken care of this one little thing as well. Please let me know, what can I do now? I would really appreciate your help on that.
    2. My i-751 is stuck somewhere and I am waiting for my appointment for an interview to be scheduled. It’s almost been a year now I am thinking about applying for my citizenship so that I can have both the interviews i.e. N-400 and i-751 together. Please, if you can, let me know how do I do that?

    Thank you!

I actually just got an email back from the selective service to clear this subject..

    Good Morning,

    When applying for Naturalization ONLY:
Go to www.sss.gov and scroll down the page until you see the Statue of Liberty. Once located click on it: the next screen that appears look for the Heading "Immigrant Men 31 or Older" and go to the paragraph underneath and Click on the last word: HERE (blue).  Lastly, Print.  The first page, notice the underlined words stating: applicants for naturalization who are over age 31 are eligible for naturalization even if they knowingly and willfully failed to register.

When applying for things OTHER than Naturalization:
You must complete the Status Information Letter Request (found by Clicking: FORMS on the homepage) and mail it in with proof of your exemption. If not exempt, contact us: 888-655-1825. We might be able to complete an interview over the phone and submit a Status Information Letter and mail it out to you, without any documents needed from you.

I hope this clears up some of the confusion
