Unfortunately, No one can answer that
I suggest you find things to keep busy with like taking classes and volunteering , etc. This process is neither easy nor is it fast. Patience is the only way to go, lest one drives themselves mad.
If working was so important, we suggest people consider the CR1 path if possible.

I saw a June folk get their EAD. Am not sure if that means everyone in June is beginning or if they happened to be a lucky fella
It's not exactly easy to know EVERYONE that got everything. Again, not everyone is good about posting their progress/updating their timeline. So I wouldn't get hung up on that

I got mine but i also requested an expedition based on severe financial loss to the company along with a copy of a job offer. My USCIS updates haven't changed for my I-485 from fingerprint fee has been accepted. So it could still be a long time for me to get my green card. if anyone else is stuck in limo mode i would look into requesting an expedition on your EAD

If i was to do it over from the K1 i would of done the CR1 path but my lawyer i used suggested the K1 since it only took 8 months vs 15 months to be together.

Yes I sent some additional paperwork but my main evidence is my job offer. Here are quite a few people who only sent job offer. So fingers crossed.

I submitted expedition on July 18, received standard open case/case closed by officer notification July 18, tried to fax week of July 25, 26, called USCIS and they said mail it since fax is down mailed cover letter, their letter, job offer July 26. Sent faxed copy Aug 1, called USCIS spoke to tier 2 officer not able to give me any update no help Aug 14, emailed congressman Aug 9 received email back from them saying they will send a request to USCIS.

Received email today "Card is in production for AP, and EAD

I only sent in job offer and cover letter explaining that I will be an asset to the company no additional financial information.

MORAL OF THE STORY!! Patience is bliss!! looking at others reviews it will take about a month for the EAD expedition to be approved no way to make it go fast so just wait and stop looking at the website every 30 min it will dive you nuts.

Was asked to confirm if name and address were spelled correctly before submission and realized the employment authorization section (on their form, not mine) said: LEGAL ALIEN ALLOWED TO WORK even though I had checked the box that said 'unable to work' on the application form I gave them. I wasn't sure if this was a mistake at the time, still not really sure.

Based of the uscis website you are a legal alien allowed to work. A K1 visa authorizes you to get a 90 days ead (although you’ll get it probably after the 90 days. But on the social security card there is no reason they should send you a temp one that unauthorized to work.

Dont work until you get your ead or your green card but their is no reason to not select authorized to work on the form since a K1 is authorized to work (with your ead or ead stamp at entry)

Thanks for the info and CONGRATULATIONS!!! My interview is June 6th. Could you please reply here when you find out that your visa has been mailed? And when you receive it? I'm trying to figure out how quick I can be on my way to the States after the interview.

i had in interview in Montreal May 22, my appointment time was 7:30 i got there at 6:55 (4 people ahead of me also), everything above is exactly as it is quick easy.

I was out of the interview and back at my hotel by 8:30. I check on the Ceac site at 11:00am and it said Administrative Processing. I received an email May 23 at 11:00 am that my pass port was ready to ship. I got an update from Canada post via email that it was being picked up yesterday afternoon, check this morning it says I will be able to pick it up today.

Interview May 22 pick up passport at Calgary post office May 24 I couldn't find anywhere any good info about priority shipment so i just decided to save the $20 and pick it up and I'm thinking that might of been just as fast if not faster to just pick up the passport.

So close, yet it feels so far away! lol Once I am able to schedule my interview, I will feel more at ease. I don't understand why I still haven't heard anything about Packet 3. It's been two weeks. I'm impatient!! lol

Ya that is stupid, I didn’t get a response the first time I sent in the packet 3 without them asking for it. Then I sent it in 2 days later and I got a response about packet 4 within hours. I would just send it in again what’s the worst they will say wait again.

Even though I had not heard anything from the Montreal Consulate yet, I submitted DS-160 and packet 3 because I saw Status Ready so I decided to give it a shot. I got a reply back from Montreal Consulate saying to wait to hear from them and that I'm not required to submit anything yet. I've seen so many people on here submit it and they get packet 4 right away, but I wasn't as lucky lol. Now I'm just sitting here, checking my email obsessively. Also, I can't get a straight answer from anyone if Montreal sends send Packet 3 instructions through email or mail. Some swear they got theirs through Canada Post, others say Montreal doesn't correspond through mail at all so I'm checking both all the time lol.

Hang in there. You should get your case # soon. I'm waiting until I'm allowed to book my interview to have my fiancee send the I-134, promise to marry letter & other documents. Looks like people are getting interviews a month out, so there will be lots of time.

Hopefully Westjet at least waits until after your trip if they're going to strike!! Do you anticipate any trouble at customs with the pending Visa?

Awesome. Thank you!! And good luck with your interview!!!

Interview went great, if your in a real relationship don’t even spend a minute stressing about this process quick and easy: tell me about how you met, when you started dating, plans for your wedding, left my hotel room at the travel lodge at 6:55 back at my hotel at 8:30, my interview was at 7:30 but they didn’t start letting people into the building until 8:00.

The CO I asked said that they need all original forms signed by petitioner (NOT COPYS). So I suggest getting original I-134, intent to marry etc.

So I need my fiancee to fill out I-134 and write promise to marry letter, both with a wet signature and snail mail them to me? I wonder if he can fill them out, sign them wet, and scan and email them to me? I can't find a definitive answer to this question anywhere.

My lawyer suggested everything you can bring wet/original the better just get it snail mailed or overnighted so that you had that copy in case they ask for it better to be safe.

Hi! I'm sorry I can't really answer your question. I have a question for you or maybe there are other Canadians who might be able to help. For your Canadian police certificate, did you get fingerprinted? Im in Montreal and I found a company that does PC, one service requires 2 government ids, the other is fingerprints... I'm not quite sure which one to get... Thoughts?

I have a dui so I had to get the finger prints. I believe if your a normal guy you can go to your local rcmp or police satiation and request a criminal record check and it’s only $25 usually the places that do the finger printing charge closer to $75. If I was you I would just got to the cop shop and have them do it. If you don’t have a record you’ll get your results fast if you do it still might only take 2-3 weeks.

    Peot,

Did you send naturalization certificate (original as the packet 3 says " By doing this, you acknowledge that you have gathered the required documents for each applicant, and that you will bring the originals and photocopies for the interview. So like divorce certificate and nat cert, i can only print and scan the originals and send it to my fiancee when she goes for the interview. That is the plan.

Send your fiancé all originals (wet ink) through the mail that includes your divorce certificate.

    TNTidaho,

In packet 3 check list, petitioner has to send proof of us domicile. They are asking for originals. do you send the original naturalization certificate or just a scanned color copy to the beneficiary? Thank you.

So the packet 3 does come snail mail except if you go online you can find the check list and sing it and send it into Montreal after uou have checked off the list and signed it. I didn’t wait for them to mail it to me I just went online and found it and emailed it to them (this is the link for packet 3 I read some people go rejected when they just emailed it but I was able to my packet 4 right away and form the email there is a link that will take you to the canada website and let you set up your interview and pay your fee Packet3Instructions-IV.pdf

  11. I didn’t get the packet 3 till 3 weeks after in the mail. When I noticed I was in “ready status” I submitted my completed packet 3 to the Montreal email and got a generic email stating it will be 8 weeks to hear back 2 days later I sent in the packet 3 again at 11:00am and I received the packet 4 email at 12:20 the same day.

From the packet 4 email you can click a link and go onto the website and set up your interview and pay your visa fee $265 (I think), then you can set up your medical once you have a interview date. I got my packet 4 April 24 and was able to get an interview May 22.

  12. Just got done my medical for my K1 in Surrey BC, I flew form Calgary to Van 6:30am flight rented a car and was back at the airport by 1:00. Renting a car probably wasn’t the best option since it was $100 to rent a car I’m sure a cab might of been cheaper.

Really easy going doctor happy and helpful with questions.

I had a DUI in 2008 and he just asked for a drivers abstract (3 year) and police record asked if I only had one dui said it wasn’t a big deal and moved on with the remaining questions needed for his form.

$340 for medical, $35 for them to courier it to Calgary said I will have it by Friday afternoon.
