We had our combo interview on the 06/25 at Houston FO. Checked in and after waiting for about 5 minutes, we were called in for the interview. The IO said they have to process 10 year GC  first before touching N-400. Both of us were called in for the interview. After looking through our I-751 application and provided evidence, the office said someone had looked at our file back in 2016 but for whatever reason they did not request for evidence and it stayed at CSC until it was transferred in early May like lot of us in here. The office suspected that we did not provide enough evidence with the application and that is why no decision was made on our case. IO asked us few more question about our joint assets and responsibilities but still it was not enough for them to make a decision. After checking with their supervisor they agreed to take the N-400 interview and not hold up that process since we were there already. They took my spouse for the N-400 interview and after 15 minutes came back with the good news that they passed the interview. The IO said they will send a letter explaining what additional evidence we can submit to have our I-751 approved and mentioned that it was easier for to conduct the joint interview since both of us went for the interview. So for everyone out there wondering whether to go or not with their spouse, I would say go as you have nothing to loose. Take additional evidence in case if you are still waiting to hear on the  I-751 during your interview appointment. Chances are you might be in same situation as us but better prepared than us. So now while we wait for the snail mail to arrive we are collecting additional evidence like tax returns, joint lease, photographs, bank accounts, utility bills, etc. since filing the I-751 that were not originally submitted.

One step at a time, slowly but surely getting close to USCIS journey.

    Good luck everyone!

After more than 4 months since we had the interview, we are still waiting one their response. Made another infopass appointment Sept 17th to inquire about the status.  The employee at the window did not let us meet the IO who interviewed us on 06/25. However we did take additional evidence with us which she accepted after us requesting few times. She took the evidence, I believe to the IO and returned 10 mins later and informed us that the IO office never sent to RFE as they told us on 06/25 so, and now we have to wait 60-90 additional days to find out the decision. It has been 40 days since the appointment and no response from them yet. No update on the website either!

So, we filed in March 2018 for naturalization.  I get the texts, so I received one that says his case was updated.  I checked online and sure enough he was scheduled for an interview.  We haven't completed ROC yet, so I'm assuming his appointment will be together.  Is that correct?  I'm so excited but am now nervous.  He's sleeping and I don't want to wake him.  If I could be a bit greedy, I'm hoping the interview is a month away.  He leaves on the 20th for a business trip out of country, and I leave the following week for an out of country trip.  I think I'll be home the 7th of July.

The question I have is if he just receives an interview letter for naturalization, is it just to be understood that I'll have to be there for it (because they will also have to do his ROC prior to the naturalization interview)???

They will process both case at same time during the interview appointment. I was told this by an officer who stamped I-551 few days ago for us.

@Name O Boy @Dualie @BigEZ @PositiveThinker @Lovetoteach Any updates guys? Hope Civics studying is going well @shell20 @YafaUSA @ramus_maximus.No updates for me so far. Just silence🙄

Just walked in at our local office in Houston to get the I-551 stamp. Finally got it after waiting for about 2.5 hours. It only took us 5 mins to get the stamp once our number was announced. But I thought it was very strange the people behind the window took about 30 break between each person. I am just glad that we got the stamp and they didn't turn us around.

I did ask the office about the pending ROC and N-400 interview and how it will be handled. They said both will be processed on the same day. So will update you guys on the June 25th about the interview experience.

  5. Anyone else got an email this morning from USCIS ? May 21st is when they sent me the interview notice for N-400 for  June 25, an still no news on the I-751.

However I remember reading in one of the posts that someone heard from USCIS a month after their case was transferred to NBC or is it  like @punter13, we will find out during the N-400 interview about  I-751 approval? Hoping to hear something as it has been a month since the NBC transfer.

  6. I am aware that ROC and N-400 are two independent process. But some people here got their N400 approved and waiting for oath so what is the point of pending I-751? I thought that ROC was a step towards naturalization. Or are they going to realize that oops! We just realized that ROC is pending and we need to process that prior to scheduling the oath ceremony. So we have to wait little longer.

I passed my N400 interview on April 2nd 2018. On May 7th May 2018, my application was transferred to the NBC. I applied for ROC for I751 on 19th July 2016. Not too sure where I stand, as this has been dragging on for nearly 2 years now, and it is getting more and more frustrating at every passing day.

Did you ask them about your pending I-751 during interview visit? When was/is you oath ceremony?

Oh goodness!!! Congrats you guys!!!!! This is exciting!🥂 Please tell me more. So whens the interview? You guys had pending I 75 as well correct? So safe to say it must be Interview notices most likely for the rest of us,hopefully. Just got an email notification today morning that there are no case updates for me😩

Thank you. Still waiting on USCIS website to update the interview date and the snail mail to arrive in mail but I am guessing a month from yesterday at least.

We do have I-751 pending, no news on that yet but some one suggested we will have a combo interview.

And lastly I got the same email you mentioned about no news on the 18th, so wait a few days and hopefully you get the same update as we got.

May the odds be ever in your favor.....:D

So did all of us and we are all hoping and waiting for someone to recieve an update so that we could all get a better idea of what to expect. The best guess IMHO is RFE/Approval / Interview.🌼

We got email notification yesterday about N-400 interview. The website is not updated yet but like many here its about a month from when they send the interview notice.

    Congratulations!! That's so exciting.

Is the timeline for the interview consistent with the processing time for your local office?

    Thank you!!!

My local office is processing N-400 from Oct 2016 at the moment. So not really consistent but I did file I-751 in Oct 2016 so maybe that has something to do with that. But no news on the I-751 yet.

You don't need additional documents - I took my GC, extension letter and passport. There is no charge. Also something you should know, they might not give you your GC back after they stamp your passport, they didn't give me mine but it's not the same everywhere. I read comments from people who did got it back, some got it back clipped on the top... go figure..

The only thing you'll need is your passport and green card. They can typically pull up your file using the A number on your GC. You can certainly take extension letters etc., along with you if you'd like, but they won't need it.

You certainly will not need to show proof of travel and there is no fee. But good luck finding an appointment....they're not easy to get. I would recommend checking really early in the mornings. Good luck!

Thank you both. I already got the InfoPass appointment for end of the month but hoping to get some news on the pending I-751( hopefully approval) and I will not need to go to the appointment.

  15. Silly question for people who got the I-551 stamp. Any additional documents to take at the InfoPass appointment beside expired GC, extension letter and passport? Like proof showing we are planing a trip outside USA? Also what is the fee for the I-551 stamp? I looked other posts here and USCIS website but not finding enough info. TIA!!

    Hi folks,

Just trying to get a sense of how many of us with ROC pending recieved the recent case transfer. No pressure, but if you could kindly fill the details( in order of the month & year please)maybe it may help us understand better.Again this is in regards to the Case transfer for those of us who have applied for N 400 and pending ROC. Thank you.

    Name| ROC applied month& year| N 400 applied month& year |Case Transfer date| Transfer Center| Local Field office|

    Coffee Vegan| April 17| March 18|05-03|NBC|MI

One more thing to add could be where they applied CSC or VSC.
