The vietnam one can do easily but the Taiwan one was difficult. But she has not returned there. I will have her do the Vietnam one again.

Hello I am hoping to get some feedback. Embassy is Vietnam We are on a 221g issued in Oct 24th 2022. It has been hectic 2023 so far and had to reschedule 221g appointment a few times do to work obligations and financial constraints to travel. Now our appointment is scheduled for June 5th and it has slipped by us about the Passport expiry. That is Sept. Arggg I know. In the stresses of getting ready it got by us. I would like some advice. My thinking is that still keep the appointment and expect another blue slip requesting to send in the new passport when she gets it for stamping. Should she apply for renewal now? I don't know if in Vietnam they take the passport. I know in the US they do. Is it better for her to renew after interview or before? Will they even let her in the building without the current passport? Thanks for any input

What is your age difference? Ours is 12 but I have aged well. Haha In our case I think they are just checking to see if there are ties to any relatives. They asked for family trees My attorney said 221g is common in Vietnam. 2 out of 10. I was not there for the first one. They saw her for 5 minutes looked only at my divorce papers and gave the 221g. Its just another hoop to jump through. In my opinion some of these officers need replaced. I will be at the second one. That 2 year covid thing really screwed up some cases. Good luck to you

Hello. The appointments do come up. You have to check a couple times a day. The next month seems to come up about 2-3 weeks into the previous month. 7 came up for February at one point. It doesn't seem as hard as some say. The hard part for me is balancing air fare and app time. The embassy only gives a 4 week window it seems.

Thank you yes we got through medical. She went to interview alone. They issued a 221g and did not even look at anything except birth certs and divorce papers. I will attend the 221g appointment hopefully they will then issue

Hello thanks for reply. No they did not but it is a light request to be honest. Just a family tree and statements from both of us about ex's and their Immigration history which is clean for both of us Covid really set us back a bit.

Can someone reading this thread explain to me when the R2 asks for ex spouses immigration history what exactly what the VN officers are looking for? To see if they are a natural born US citizen? Or were they have traveled or lived?? Ialso have to provide this written statement. @rraypo

Hello all Yesterday unfortunately my wife received the 221g in Hochi Minh city. Blue slip. Are these able to be overcome? An attorney told me they are common. She answered all questions except when my previous marriage years and dates. Like who keeps track of ex's like this? We have to also fill out the family document on the website and signed statement about my ex's. When they say signed do they mean ex spouses sign or I sign? Thanks in advance. Does visa journey have any forums for the 221g refusals? Guides or help?
