Just got out of the interview.... and would like to share the good news!! We are approved!
Had such a nice interviewer, very understanding and he even gave me I-551 stamp on my passport so I can start working. Status changed to new card is being produced. This has been a long journey and thank you everyone on this forum for all the encouragements and support! It really helped my sanity. Just FYI, EAD/AP were not approved, and after today's interview, both were cancelled as I-485 was approved. Good luck to the rest of y'all!

She did not and I didn't want to be too forward in asking, I tend to be a little shy. So, we just kept checking the DHS website for updates and after almost 4 weeks the site updated to say "We are producing your card" and, 3 days after that update, it updated to say "We have approved your case". It seems a little backwards to me to show an approval after already saying the card is being produced but I've seen that happen to others here as well. If your IO doesn't tell you that you are approved and you aren't comfortable directly asking, you could do what I did and ask some leading questions to try and gauge which way they are leaning. The questions I asked were something like "Assuming everything is okay with today, can you explain how Removal of Conditions will work?" and "Since the current Social Security card says only valid with DHS authorization, should we get a new one once we receive the Green Card?" and "I think somewhere I read in the instructions that USCIS will register with Selective Service as a part of this process. Just to be sure, and to avoid any issues in the future and assuming everything looks good after today, should we just go ahead and register?". Based on how she answered these questions, I could tell that she was leaning towards approval because she responded with answers like "When you receive your green card you should....". Again, if I was more forward I could have asked, and we had a really good rapport with the IO so I think she would have answered honestly or given the usual "I need to review the case further and you will receive notification in the future but right now everything looks okay" answer, but depending on your personality and the IO, you might have to take the roundabout way :-)
Gotcha. Thank you for sharing your experience! I am eager to go back to work so my attorney encouraged me to ask for the stamp, of course depending on how well the interview goes...

I asked about this at our interview last month. I was told that the case for EAD/AP would be cancelled if they found record of a Green Card being produced. Our green card is in production now and I can still see the case status for the EAD as "we received your case". I'm guessing that will change at some point to cancelled or something along those lines once they actually get to our EAD in the processing queue.
That makes sense. Did the interviewer tell you about your approval at the end of the interview?

I have a green card interview in 2 days! At 190 days, still no EAD/AP. Do they just stop processing EAD/AP once your interview is scheduled? There is no point now, but just curious.

I was going to suggest to my hubby that we write to our congressperson but I don't even know if it's worth it.
I'd say it's better than nothing!

Got a copy of response that USCIS in response to my congresswoman's inquiry about my case. Total useless, couldn't give me a timeline. Basically said a small percentage of cases involve unresolved issues and cause adjudication delays. Didn't even tell me what the issue is. Just so infuriating how incompetent they are. Pending 170 days.

This guys are special. Wow, at least you have the best in your hands, an interview. I don't even have that! And I'm filling from NY, so, it takes like 12 months to be schedule. This is crazy as F... the only thing we have is to wait and wait and wait -.-" or maybe call Trump for help xD hahahaha.
I hope this get done soon!
I don't really know what else to do.
True... this is crazy. Can you imagine banks or any other places taking months to process things?! I do feel very lucky about the interview, and even the officer said that this is really early to get an interview. 6 months is early. Hahaha... I do live in North Carolina, not a ton of people move here...lol

My wife got mad yesterday and told them a lot of things. Guys from November and before without an approval. How can you approve someone from December, if you have a lot of cases without approvals from early dates! The officer was in the air. They don't even know what to say or how to react!. This is insane, this is crazy!
But I'm here waiting for them to do their "job" and hopefully we the "New card is being produced" message on my screen...
I don't even know what else to do, I was thinking about contacting ombudsman and congress.but I'll wait to see if this helps.
I totally get it! Every time I say that, they go, oh every case is different. Their website says they process cases as they come in. I call it BS. I am constantly following up/bothering my congresswoman's office. It's so frustrating to see so many people who filed at later dates have received approvals while it's silent on my case
I've literally done everything, obmudsman, congressman, expedite request, SR, and nothing seems to be working. I'm convinced they lost my application. Or it's under a pile of documents and being forgotten. This is craaazy. Where did all my money go, supposedly paying for people to do their job. Oh and taxes too. The only thing that keeps me sane at this point is the fact that i have my interview on 6/14.

He basically told me that unfortunately the office that my case is on, is delayed, that I will receive an update really soon in any moment. I created SRs and everything but no responses. But this time, I have a Job Offer, so he recommended me to create an expedite for the case to be view and if they need proof I have a job offer. He added to the note that I need it ASAP. So, he told me the only thing I could do is wait. They don't even have any response or update. -.-" this is crazy. I've been calling them everyday this week! Trust me.
Finger crossed, I hope to receive something soon.
I really need this EAD. I hope you get something soon too! Best wishes!
I'm not surprised. It is so frustrating! From what I got from an officer at the infopass appointment, he was saying even an expedite won't do anything, because they rarely approve the expedite. (I have submitted an expedite request, got a letter they got my expedite request and reviewing mycase, and then nothing. This was back in March) He told me that he's seen cases being pushed with the help of congressman's office. I have already been there done that, and I actually have been in contact with congresswoman's office of my district. He had a phone call with them, apparently they said it'll be processed "very soon", that was last week lol it still seems like nothing is really happening.

Any updates?
Nothing either, day 164. Got "we are still reviewing your case" email notification. LOL.
4 minutes ago, Frankjoseph said:It's driving me crazy. I'm on the phone with a level 2 officer
Please share what a level 2 officer says about this ridiculous waiting haha

Absolutely, SarahMV. Congratulations on your interview. It might be a big relief that the end of this long waiting is so close!
Definitely. Thank you! I hear once interview is done, green card can come out pretty soon after that, so it's a great news. Good to know something is moving forward haha gives a little burden off my shoulders since it looks like I'm going to lose my job at the end of this month!
-
Still no updated on EAD/AP... PD is December 4th, 2017, currently at 162 days.
But my interview is scheduled! Interview is on 6/14. So it seems like I'm getting my interview before EAD/AP. Ha!

Hi! Finally found my way here since this process is taking FOREVER.
Filed AOS packet in December, adjusting from F1 status (c9) and sent to Chicago lockbox. My field office is Washington DC and I guess the NBC for some of the applications.
December 8 - application received
End of December/early January - Finger printing done
Early January we got an RFI
January 26 - received evidence for RFI
aaaaaand then it’s been completely quiet. I really really wish I could get my EAD card soon, I graduated two days ago and officially don’t have an income anymore. Blah.
same boat!
Adjusting from F1 status. I've been working with OPT from STEM major, but it expires at the end of this month. No updated on EAD since case was received on 12/4.
Got an update last week on my i-485 that my interview was scheduled, so I'm waiting to receive that mail.
-
Had an infopass appointment, again, this morning. My case is still not even being adjudicated. lol. Meanwhile, my interview notice was sent out yesterday, I expect to receive it soon. It looks like i might get the interview before receiving EAD.
-
So for those of you who had interviews or know about it, how long does it take to actually obtain temporary green card after the interview? I haven't gotten a mail with interview date yet, but assuming I will sometime this month. With this rate, I'm wondering if I'll get the interview before work authorization. lol

Who told you 6 months? A level 2 officer? #######? Are they crazy? Or they don't know what else to say as excuse? Damn!
A level 2 officer. I didn't even respond to that. I think they are just saying whatever that comes into their minds. My case has been pending for almost 160 days, i guess I'm not too far from 180 days. Ha!
-
Got an update this morning about I-485, interview was scheduled. It said "employment based interview is scheduled" so i had to call and make sure it's family-based, not employment based. They said someone just made a mistake on that, they have it correctly on file. On the other hand, for work authorization, this officer told me my case is still at background checking. LOL. Told me it takes 6 months. Ha.ha.ha. Great. I will lose my job, but hey, knowing something is going somewhere is at least something, i guess...

I can only speak for my experience; I've requested an expedite as well and also received the same update as yours. I received a letter that said somewhere along the lines of "we received your request for expedite, your case is currently under review, you will receive a notice of further action or decision shortly". Then, I never received anything after that, exhausted all my resources, and luckily got my green card interview and approval. EAD/AP were cancelled after i received an approval for my i-485/i-130.
