    Hey guys, so i got my i-765 application back. they said they rejected it because i used an old version of the form which i didn't think i was since i got it off of the website when i was applying. but when i send it back i don't know if i need to send a check or not since it should be included with the i-130 and i-485 application right? 

    i'm not sure how to go about this. anyone have any tips?? thank you

    Yeah that’s weird I thought there were no problems adjusting. I overstayed my F-1 a few months until all my paperwork was ready to send now I’m worried too.

    Mine stated that it was delivered and signed on the 1st though that's why i think it might just be coming back to me (don't know when though - haven't gotten anything in the mail). Trying to relax!

    Did you put it altogether on one check?  Or did you provide a separate check for the I-765 (EAD)?  The reason I ask is, if you didn't put it all one check then they may still accept your package and return the check for the EAD (this happened to a January 2018 filer recently).  If you lumped it all on the same check, however, they will return your entire package stating incorrect payment fee.  If this is the case you will need to write a check for the correct amount and pop it straight back in the post with the package to USCIS.  Do not panic, all will be fine :).

    I separated all the checks and attached them to each application. I don't know what else could have been wrong with mine since i haven't heard back and it was delivered on the 1st. If they are returning it I wonder when i'll receive it - at least i'll know what's going on at that point.

    As far as arranging the application is considered, everybody does it in his own way. I did it as described below ( tried my best to make it easier for IO to understand the structure of my application)

     

    1 cover letter for the whole application giving a breakdown of all the forms enclosed and supporting documents submitted with each one

    checks envelope stapled to the I-130 package 

     

    I had 2 separate file folders;

    1 for i-130 package which contained I-130, I-130A and all its supporting documents (First page in the folder was G-1145 text/ email notification form)

    1 folder for I-485 package which contained I-485, I-864, I-765, I-131 and I-693 (Medical) 

     

     

    Yeah crossing my fingers. Hate this waiting game haha.

    I had each of mine separated by a binder clip with the checks attached at the end of each one along with the passport pictures. I should have put them in the front just in case it got messy.

    Mine was delivered on the 1st at around 3pm and I still haven't gotten my notifications yet. They haven't even cashed my checks.

     

    How did everyone organize their files/where did they place the checks? I'm wondering if anything was wrong with mine. Just getting nervous at this point. Hopefully by the end of the week I'll hear something.

    What did you ship it with/what time was it delivered? I'm wondering if it's because I used USPS priority mail express - but regardless it says it was delivered in the afternoon. Fingers crossed for this week as well, thank you for your feedback!! :)
