Hi Guys,
My situation is as following: I got married last year and received my conditional green card im 8 months into it.
My parents are staying here on a tourist visa to help me with baby. Can they stay till i get my passport or would that make them ineligible when i apply for their green card later? Can they adjust status later here ?
Please let me know thank you

I don't have a recommendation for you. I wrote to my congressman (you just have to find yours - depends on your address). I had a specific reason why I wrote to them - otherwise, I would have waited. Thankfully, our congressman is pro-immigration and decided to contact USCIS - which helped us tremendously. However, unless you have been waiting a very long time or have a legitimate issue they probably will not help you. Let me know if I can be of any more help. You can try to write them - but you need to have a reason why they should reach out on your behalf.
Sure - feel free to pm me.
Hey thank you! So we went to the interview april 24th they gave us an RFE which we mailed right away and its not May 7 and no update at all. So i was wondering how u contacted the congressman and what you told them to expedite your case.. im so worried cuz i have a job offer coming up which cant accept
and idk what to do so any advice would help thank you

On April 26th, I-485 application was approved! Definitely thanks to the congressman's aide! We received texts and emails this morning (4/28) stating that the case was approved. Now just waiting for the card is in production email!
hello i know it has been a long time since when you posted this but i wanted to ask you some questions as i am in the same boat.. if u see this pls let me know and thank you

Because I spent weeks gathering evidence and I feel like if they say you MUST bring evidence of a relationship they should at least glance at it.
Every approval I’ve seen have had their card within 7-10 days so 2-3 months for production of a card seems excessive.
i think u should be fine. that is the general answer that they give 2-3 months but normally green card comes after 7 days. yours will prob come to

So just to update that my status online have changed this morning to: "Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed". Do you guys have any idea about this ?
My status updated the same. 2 days later i received and RFE at home. But i was expecting the rfe cuz she told me at the interveiew that i was missing that document so she would sent rfe.
Hopefully yours its approved soon if nohting came up during interview

What info did they find missing?
So i had recevied a traffic ticket for which i had to go to court like 4 years ago and they wanted the court disposition for that.
My RFE arrived at home 2 days after the interview.
I dont know how long after i mail it will they get back to my case again thats what im worried about, hopefully it wont take them another 3 months

I just got this this morning, what does it mean? these guys have succeeded in confusing me. Is this a Long wait or is it positive?
You attended your interview and we are reviewing your case
You do not need to do anything at this time
We will let you know if we need anything else from you as we continue to review your case.
If your mailing address changes, update your address with us.
I received this update as well. Then shortly after received an Rfe saying they need more info. I plan to mail that rfe tomorrow

I had my interview on the 24th of April which went pretty good overall. Right after i got an email that my 130 is approved, and 485 has an rfe which they have sent.
I already know what the RFE is about cuz the IO told me about it, and she said "its no big deal guys" just sent it back to me.
I am wondering how long does it take uscis to reply after they get the RFE AFTER THE INTERVIEW. Cuz she made it seem like it wasnt a big deal.
And when i receive the RFE will it have the name of the officer who interviewed us?
Would love to hear some of your stories who have gone through the same thing getting RFE after interview from the field office.
Thank you!

I am still waiting nothing from them yet...... I am just hoping for the best and assuming for the better (which will be request for further evidence)
i had my interview on the 24th. on the 25th my i130 got approved, but for 485 i got an email they are asking for RFE and they have sent it and i know what it is about cuz she told me at the interview . kinda sucks because now have to wait some more for them to get RFE process it and sometimes it takes 3-4 months to get back to that rfe. good luck to u

Hi @Laura, was your most recent jointly filed tax requested for at the interview?
Hi! Yes she asked for it only my husband tax return. We filed married seperatly and she didn’t have a problem with it. But they ask for ur most recent tax Return

Woke up today to notifications saying there was action taken on my case. Checked the tracker on the USCIS website - nothing. Then I checked myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov and it says that card is being produced!!! Yay!!!
3 months from filing to approval. Pretty good actually.
Awesome!! Congrats 🎉 it’s a relief lol.. I woke up to an email this morning that my i130 is approved but 485 has the RFE

I'm sure it will be very fast! Don't worry about it.
My interview is next Thursday. Getting a little nervous.
Good luck!! You will do great
. All she asked was proof of relationship and some pics we had so its pretty easy. Also make sure you take your i94 original with you.
She kept my original

Nothing yet. Literally checking the site every 2 minutes. That sucks about the RFE. What do they want?
The old traffic ticket that i had to show that it has been resolved. I hope its not gonna take them another 3 more months to get back to the RFE after i sent it ( read some horror stories like that)
I am sure u will be approved pretty soon! it takes about a week sometimes to hear back
-

Are you asking for traffic ticket RFE? Sorry to hear this. But I'm sure once you send in, you will get approved very soon.
Oh thanks a lot when is your interview? Yeah it is the traffic ticket RFE. The IO made it seem like it wasnt a big deal and she said she will sent the letter right away so can sent her the court disposition then. Quoting her she said " its no big deal guys" but u never know
But im reading some horror stories that it takes them about to 3 months to get back to the RFE lol ...

Mine went as well as it could I thought. I got an officer who apparently was her first day interviewing. She was super nice and very thorough - spent quite some time talking about our relationship. In the end she said that it was an obvious approval but she needed the approval from her supervisor since she’s new.
Did you get approved?
Yea I don’t know she didn’t say anything. But she seemed enthusastic and my status online hasnt changed yet. Hbu did ur status change online

Overall it was a good experience I’d say. The io was so nice and it seemed like she was so excited to talk to us. She only asked us basic questions:
1)when did u guys meet?
2) how long after dating did U meet his parents?
3) when did u decide to get married?
4) when and where did U get married?
Then she asked both me and my husband where we went to school and where are we working and what profession we have. Dob as well.
She asked for proof of relationship we had( bank account, life insurance, car insurance, tickets of rips we had done and an offer put for a house recently) she seemed satisfied with it, she also kept some of the pics i brought.
Then she asked all the yes no questions. At the end she said everything looks good. But she didn’t say approve or not. But she said I might need to provide court disposition for a Traffic ticket I had 3 yrs ago ( I thought traffic tickits don’t count grrr) All she said was we will hear in mail and if she needs anything extra she will sent a letter in mail. That was about it. I was hoping to get an approval on the spot 😞
