That’s the exact same example I give when people ask me if my case is almost done now that the NVC is done with it!! 😂 I always tell them there’s the possibility that the plane that brings my paperwork for Madrid might fall into the ocean. The other day i was telling that to my mom while we were walking down the street and an old lady started yelling at me for saying such things 😂😂

Yeah, you never know what can happen. Can you imagine if paperwork got lost and there were no electronic copies anywhere?

Well that's interesting. So if hard and soft copies are both sent then the soft copies definitely must be reaching earlier than hardcopies. Is there any way to find out if embassy has received the soft copies? Does they work on our petition when they receive these soft copies? Really curious to know what are these soft copies used for? Any idea?

They send your file electronically to the embassy/consulate when they send out the DHL shipment. Like I said the first "ready" date is the consulate/embassy receiving the electronic transmittal ie scanned copies and the second is the embassy/consulate receiving the physical paperwork. I would imagine they do something like this in case oh I don't know THE PLANE GOES DOWN SO YOU DON'T LOSE YOUR PAPERWORK!

 We just got our packet 3 this morning(TW time) / in the afternoon(LA time).

p.s. after your case says "in transit', you'll see "ready" when it's arrived in your "country".

THEN you'll see a second update time, that's when your embassy received your case.

This was what happened to me, but might be different country to country.

best of luck everyone, we're almost there.(L)

The first ready is usually when the Consulate/Embassy receives the electronic file.

Hii everyone just a quick question/double checking. My fiance and I are just about ready to submit his 160, he will sign and submit it from his country. My question is, does he necessarily need to print out his submission page/scan code thing right THEN and there? Or can I go back and print it out and scan it back to him??! .. I only ask because at this time he is having difficulty accessing a printer to print that final page. Thank youu anyone!

You can always go back in and access it. I emailed and printed from Chrome and it didn't have the bar code so I had to go back in under explorer and email it again.

    Thanks!

Do u know what's the number that's next to the beneficiary name on the NOA2? It's alphanumeric starting with letter "A"

An A-Number, also known as an Alien Registration Number or Alien Number, is a unique eight- or nine-digit number assigned to a noncitizen at the time their A-File is created. An A-Number is the letter “A” followed by eight or nine numbers (such as A012345678)

Thanks! We've done that but haven't heard from them yet. How long do they usually take to reply?

Also, the websites still haven't updated and they show our case as "received". Anyone else with the same issue?

The new site updated for me and said my case was approved on 12/6 but the old site still says my case was received 5/31. They seem to not update the old site at all and the new site is hit or miss for most people. I sent NVC a message on 12/13 and they replied back to me on 12/19 that they received my case, I called on 12/21 and got my case number but it wasn't sent out with this shipment so hopefully it will be sent to the Consulate on 1/9.

Hey everyone! We have just received our notice of action 2 saying we had been approved and we’re hoping we’re going to be sent to the right embassy. On the I 129F form we requested the Argentinian embassy But the beneficiarie’s  physical address was Italy at that time. We are hoping that they’ll use the requested Embassy instead of the embassy based on the physical address. Anyway we are planning on calling Nvc next week and making sure that they send us to the right One. Any advice?

You can send a message to AskNVC and tell them the situation. The link is in the first post on this thread

Does your show under immigrant drop down as well?

Yes, I got my case number Friday but it didn't go out in today's shipment so hopefully it will go out on Jan 9th.

So we got our case no. today

I searched it on caec website, However under immigrant visa it iz showing status"at nvc" and tells me to follow link which is a process of cr1 visa.

If i choose nonimmigrant visa on caec website,  enter our embassy and case no. It doesn't have any status there suggesting me it is incorrect no.

Is it same for you guys too?

You use the immigrant drop down. When they send your file to the Consulate/Embassy it will change from "At NVC" to "In Transit" don't worry about all the other stuff on there.
