Yes, this forum is meant for people to help each other. But the implicit consideration is that it's to help us get things right, to avoid making mistakes, and how to quickly resolve inadvertent errors, misunderstandings and other concerns so that we may all have a smooth experience with the immigration process.
 
The OP on the other hand willfully provided wrong information in the application, and proceeded to acknowledge that erroneous information under oath, for reasons of their own. The administrative oath is that you are providing them all data truthfully. 
 
While the strong protections against loss of citizenship may protect the OP, I do not know whether it is within forum guidelines to permit those who have intentionally misrepresented themselves under administrative oath, to request advice here.

The OP refers enigmatically to 'losing her son'. There probably will not be enough detail about this from the OP, but it implies something beyond mere "I stated I'm single when I'm actually married". 
 
Specifically, it brings into question many possible issues that OP probably will never explain clearly here, including unclear past/present marriages time overlaps, ongoing custody battles, or any other facet that might tie to good moral character on her part. 
 
The OP needs a competent lawyer since she's not about to post all details here, and there's no point in speculating what might happen to her.

Please note: ALL recent timeline updates on this thread are BROKEN. The divergence occured in @Indicatio's update on July 29 (page 67) , which has both an old and new version for some reason. I'll venture to fix it. 

Only thing that needs to be notarized in the 1 document checklist page for OCI that shows you have a originals or everything you have sent as a copy. Nothing else needs to be notarized. 

My interview was a couple of days ago. It was a very straightforward experience. Despite having been here for over a decade and a half, and having been a GC via employment since 2008, my file wasn't all that thick - about 1inch. They had my old H1 and 485 paperwork. 
 
The interview started with the oath, fingerprints and photo. She then went over my application. I had a copy of it with some edits (additional travel) and she was happy to have all the information she needed to update things quickly. There were no major issues here. I offered her paperwork for my single traffic ticket but she waved me off. She asked why my drivers license doesn't have my current address, and I explained I forgot to update DMV records, but gave her the current mortgage and property tax documents for my stated residence. And that was all. She did not ask for any Selective Service evidence, though it was listed as one of the things to bring, but I became a GC after the age of 26. 
 
Surprisingly, I signed both the corrections and the allegiance confirmation at this point, before any testing. Next was civics and history. The interviewer made a mistake at this point. 
 
* "Which group of Africans were brought to the US as slaves ?"
Me: err, I think there's a mistake...
Her: Oh! I'm sorry, I think I just told you the answer along with the question. 
Me: (grinning and nodding) 
 
She gets a little flustered and spends a couple of minutes invalidating the question. We are both aware that means 6/9 required for me now, though it's not my fault. She looks worried about what to do if I get 4 wrong. Anyway I knock off the next six with ease:
* What is the highest court in the US ?
* Who is the vice president of the US
* Who makes federal laws
* How many amendments to the Constitution ?
* Why did the colonists fight the British ? 
* What territory did the US buy from France in 1803 ?
 
She looked relieved and smiled when I answered the last question, showing she'd not have to fight the system to generate more questions. Next was the reading and writing:
Reading: "Who can vote ?"
Writing: "Citizens can vote" 
 
And with that things were done. She spent the next 5-10 minutes typing, printing and stapling things together, and my travel history has regular business travel, so I asked her if she'd kindly request to schedule me for the July oath ceremony, and she said of course, I'll note the request down. The meeting ended with some chitchat where she asked me what her child could do to pursue my line of engineering work and I gave her some brief insights as we walked back to the door. And that was that.

We can only encourage one another here. It may be seemingly a worthless cause, or it may not - the act of trying may get the wheels of the machine to move again on one's case. @kaberosi's case is unusually long for Sac FO, but the current waiting time is approximately the point where those who were stuck in BC manage to get an interview date. 

Please do! Take it to the Senator's office if you can spare the enthusiasm. Feinstein is up for re-election, which may be a good thing (she wants new voters) or bad thing (too busy). Alternatively you can go with Kamala Harris' office. Or even the USCIS Ombudsman's office. At this point you're practically at the outside of the 9-13 month processing time stated, which in my opinion is a conservative one because most people seem to get done in ~7 months. 
 
I don't think the Sac FO itself is bad. I'm done with my entire process as a late Dec filer (oath last week) and they were a pleasant experience. I find it really unfortunate that you are stuck in this manner. When you do get your interview, feel free to ask them to put you in the immediately available oath ceremony afterwards. I was able to get my oath within 2 weeks of interview.

Thanks, I signed up for the email notification after seeing that my application isn't in the system. Hopefully they'll message me as soon as it's in process. 

For what it's worth, my interview was last week. I had a ticket (neither DUI nor speeding nor running a red light, but a moving violation) within the past year, and the interviewer neither cared about any paperwork about it, nor was my approval delayed - I got an approval indication in my N-652 , and my oath letter in the mail notice the next morning.

Maybe when you hand it over at your oath, they update your ROC receipt number to say 'card has been destroyed' ? :-) 

I do hope you have the same good fortune. I wasn't expecting it, since I had foreign travel after my application, so I was expecting that they'd take longer to redo checks and schedule me for the oath ceremony. 
 
If you haven't already done so, there's probably nothing to lose in calling and talking to an L2 officer about this. I was pretty data driven about estimating my Sac timelines, and most people seemed to take a week or two to get their oath letters after interview, so I know I'm not the common case. 

I think it's really useful. The more data points the better. I basically made a calculated guess on when I'd get my passport using the data points to decide between routine and premium processing.
 
If you work in a data related field you'll find the more data the better.

Alright, I got an email and text from egov stating that my oath letter has been mailed, a day after my interview. That was fast. It hasn't been uploaded yet, so I don't know when it is. 

From my analysis, some Field Offices are very predictable. They have a very streamlined process, and if you aren't stuck in background check, you can expect your interview and oath within a very periodic duration. Here's what I saw for Sacramento FO, during an analysis I did in late March:

Data from all valid 2017 Sacramento FO filers: 
Median Days from Filed->Oath : 255 days
Average Days from Filed->Oath : 266 days 
Median Days from Filed->Interview : 213 days
Average Days from Filed->Interview: 227 days
 
On this basis I projected: 
Interview letter: early June 2018
Interview: mid July 2018 
Oath letter: mid August 2018 
Oath: end August 2018
 
So far my actual dates are:
Interview letter: June 5 2018 (uploaded one day after email/text)
Interview: July 11 2018 
 
Both turned out to be exactly on the mark. the next steps of course depend on whether I'm approved, decision not made or an RFE, but so far, things are exactly as projected 2 months ago.
 
Some FOs are easier to project this way than others. Of course , Sacramento FO also has some cases where people were stuck in background check or some other exceptional circumstances, but in general, the past 1.5 years of data is very consistent.

Sacramento seems to have monthly ceremonies and a scan of my data of applicants over the past 1-1.5 years shows there's not usually a long wait. However, they may be getting together a bigger group of people for the oath ceremony around 4th of July timeframe.  

FO is at a really large government building in downtown Sac, its definitely not a really small office. I cannot speak on how well staffed they are, but if you look at the map they have a gigantic service area, which explains the long wait times. I live 3 hour drive away from Sac, and my FO is still there.
