    Date filed: 2020-10-06

    Bio appt: 2021-07-26

    Approval: 2023-06-12

  2. Email I got from USCIS today.  So there might be hope of some of us having our interview waived???? maybe.

WASHINGTON—U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) today announced a policy update to adopt a risk-based approach when waiving interviews for conditional permanent residents (CPR) who have filed a petition to remove the conditions on their permanent resident status.

Effective immediately, new criteria will guide USCIS officers on when to waive interviews for CPRs who filed a Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence. This update replaces previous agency guidance that required all CPRs to undergo an interview if they obtained CPR status via consular processing.

“Implementing a risk-based strategic approach to the CPR-interview process will increase efficiencies that improve processing times, allow for a better use of agency staffing resources, and help reduce the pending caseload while still maintaining procedures to identify fraud and protect national security,” said USCIS Director Ur M. Jaddou. “This update is consistent with agency priorities to break down barriers in the immigration system, eliminate undue burdens on those seeking benefits, and effectively respond to stakeholder feedback and public concerns.”

Prior policy requiring mandatory CPR interviews did not prove to be an efficient use of USCIS staffing resources. Under this policy update, USCIS may waive the interview requirement if the agency officer determines there is sufficient evidence about the bona fides of the marriage, the joint-filing requirement is eligible for a waiver (if applicable), there is no indication of fraud or misrepresentation in supporting documents, there are no complex facts or issues to resolve, and there is no criminal history that would render the CPR removable.

A noncitizen who obtains permanent resident status based on a marriage that began less than two years before obtaining that status receives permanent resident status on a conditional basis for two years. To remove the conditions on permanent resident status, family-based CPRs generally must file a Form I-751 within the 90-day period before the two-year anniversary of when they obtained CPR status.

My case i-751 status just got updated yesterday to "ready to schedule for an interview". Do you guys have any idea how long will it take before they send an appointment letter? My service center is National Benefit Center. My nursing board exam is coming up and this adds up to my stress level. Can you please give me an idea what to bring on the interview day. Thank you so much everyone.

They already have all of your information, so I would think that you will need to bring whatever they specifically tell you from the letter and anything else that's new for you such as change in income ect.....

Anybody here from San Diego, CA? My case was received 09/30/2020. Its in National Benefits Center. Its been 249 days and I haven't receive anything from them again. Any updates from someone who has the same timeline with me? Thank you

I'm in the Bay area and my case was received 10/09/2020 and i've heard nothing at all since.  We're probably in for a long wait.  MSC.

I'm sorry if this has been asked already but what number do we call at USCIS to find out the status of our filing if it has been delayed? I don't intend to call today but we may at some point.

    I-751 --> Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence (October 2020) - MM/DD/YYYY

    • 10/21/2020 First of 90-day window
    • 10/23/2020 : Sent to USCIS Arizona Lockbox by USPS
    • 10/24/2020 : Arrived at Arizona Lockbox

    I used  1-800-375-5283

  6. Sent in my I-751 on Oct 7, it was delivered to the Phoenix mail room on Oct 9.  Haven't heard anything since and no text or email, but I called USCIS this morning and just by chance they looked at my package today and she gave me my receipt number.  Check has not been cashed yet.  So they are working on them for anyone who is wondering why they haven't heard anything about their case yet.

Hey thank you for the response. If you don’t mind, I have one more question. So my spouse and I will be filing jointly, I know  the application is mostly about the conditional residence spouse, however, my question is that when we prepare our package soon to be mailed out should the cover page be from my wife or as if I the U.S citizen had prepared the package?

thank you very much again for your response in advance!

We made the cover page from both of us and we both signed it.  Can't hurt to let them know that both of you had a part in putting it together jointly :)

Hey guys for anyone that file their form I-751 already and if you did it by mail, is there only two direct address to mail it? When I check on USCIS.gov it shows this,

    Where to file

    U.S. Postal Service (USPS):

    USCIS
    P.O. Box 21200
    Phoenix, AZ 85036

    FedEx, UPS, and DHL deliveries:

    USCIS
    Attn: I-751
    1820 E. Skyharbor Circle S
    Suite 100
    Phoenix, AZ 85034

I lived in NY so I’m guessing this is the only two option for this form in terms of mailing it.

    thanks!

Yes, those are the two you need.  I used FedEx and sent mine to the second address last week.

    Hi everyone!

Has anyone shipped personal belongings to the United States via either UPS or Canada Post??

Canada post looks to be the cheapest option as long as we keep the boxes under 66 lbs.

What forms do we need to fill out to accompany it so we don’t have to pay import fees etc.?  I have already created an itemized list with values for each box. I just don’t know which form needs to be filled out for each box. Has anyone had experience with this?

    A few things....

You can't ship your items to the US before you yourself have entered the US at your POE.

If someone is going to ship your goods for you, then you have to also provide a letter authorizing them to process the import of your goods for you.

Also, you need to show proof that you are a permanent resident of the US so you will need to either provide a photocopy of your GC or photocopy of the Visa in your passport.  I was told that i will need one photocopy per each box I'm going to ship.

You need to fill out the form 3299.  You can get it from here https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/107/noIntercept/1/session/L3RpbWUvMTU1MTc2MzE4Ni9zaWQvWjJBWjdWOG8%3D
