  1. I recieved the same notice from my Lawyer yesterday, in fact, I think we may have the same Lawyer.

I was able to get the fingerprints taken this morning, and background check submitted.

    I used: https://www.commissionaires.ca/en/national/home

    1) Make the request under the "Privacy Act"

    2) You want a "non-certified criminal information check"

    3) You want the check to include the entire RCMP repository.

They will scan your fingerprints, and take your picture, just like the background check I had done a number of months ago.

The good news is, because the request is being made under the privacy act, there was no fee charged (at least no fee with the "commissionaires")

My documents qualified before being sent to Montreal and I've registered my interview with the Embassy. The Embassy has not contacted me

and informed me that I should bring this new background check with me to the interview. You would think that they would provide people, with upcomming interviews, notice of the need to obtain this new certificate. I've started the process just in case it is needed. If the background check doesn't arrive in time, I have the reciept that it has been requested.

What! Argh, that is frustrating. I think you might be able to still go in for an interview with the one you had and let them know you got a new check completed. THey might just hold onto your passport until the check is confirmed. Did your lawyer advise you on what to do?

Just what you said. Don't reschedule, just attend, and forward the certificate when it arrives..... But anyone else should be prepared to obtain a new certificate based on the criteria.

  3. Attention all applicants with interviews in Montreal:

My lawer called me today to inform me that my current RCMP background check will no longer be valid as of September 10th!

The Montreal Embassy has changed the requirements for police checks

This is freaking unreal, as my interview is September 14th.

    Be advised.

    Ugh! That sucks.

I know the feeling though i uploaded my BC on June 4th and didn't hit submit for 6 weeks 😶😶😶

So i unintentionally made myself miss the August interviews.

Hopefully we get one for September though

    Yes, that's what she did.

She uploaded a new correct scan, but didn't remove the rejected scan, and SUBMIT the new one.

The new scan would of stayed in "upload" for who knows how long, if I hadn't called the NVC and found a helpful agent who explaied

    what needed to be done.

When this is all said and done, I'm yelping my Lawyer big time.

  5. We just received our CC!

Our documents were submitted May 22.

On June 11, we received notice that one of my documents was scanned incorrectly.

Our Lawyer re-scanned the document, but unfortunately she didn't remove the rejected document

from the stack, and replace it with the new scan.

It just sat there for a week, until I called, and a helpful agent

explained what was needed to be done.

The new scan was submitted June 20, and we got our CC today!

Hoping for an August interview, but not holding my breath.

Our one year anniversary for the NOA1 is July 11!

You should use this site: https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx If it changes from "submit requested documents" to "at NVC" then that means a cc ^_^ It always says at NVC on the page where you submit documents for pivot cases.

    Thanks for that link!

My case has been stuck, because they're requiring additional information!!! Nice to know that tidbit

I just forwarded your link to my immigration lawyer. Will let her figure it out.

  7. I'm confused by some of the terminology being used.

We received our case number May 05.

    Paid our fees May 11.

    Receipt for fees May 14.

We're a pivot case, so everything was uploaded.

Submitted (Scan date??) May 22. (We had to wait for a Tax transcript)

On the CEAC site our case says: at "NVC", fees state "PAID", and documents show "SUBMITTED"

I've read earlier posts saying that "at NVC" means "case complete"??

I called the NVC a few days ago to ask where we were in the process, and the agent said check back (on the site) and when

the "SUBMITTED" changes to "APPROVED" it will then be moving onto scheduling an interview.

Disagree... Canada outland app (equiv of IR1) took 4 months from start to finish in 2017, including mailing time. Unless you did DCF, can't possibly be the same time :/ this process has been such a shock after going through a relatively easy process with Canada.

Major difference is in immigrating to Canada, if the spouse IS issued a work permit, it's tempoary and conditional.

Not the same as an IRI, with a Green Card

Thank you so much. Same thing happened with my husband so he had to choose snail mail.

    No problem.

When we received our NOA2 in February, we were told that it would only take 2 weeks for a case number to be assigned.

At that point, we  had her 2016 transcript ready to be submitted.

By the time we did receive a case number, her 2017 return was processed, so we had to get her 2017 transcript.

I try and take solace in the fact that if we had decided that she would join me, and immigrate to Canada, the process would not be any quicker.

How long does it take for tax transcript to be delivered by mail?

My wife (petitioner) was having difficulty logging onto the IRS site to request a transcript by email.

So, she opted for snail mail.

The IRS site says 5-10 business days

The request was sent May 11th. She checked her mailbox yesterday, and the letter was there.

It took 6 business days to California

  11. Got an email from our immigration lawyer. She received our NOA2 today!! I was so excited that I forgot to ask what the date was, and of course, the USCIS

site has not updated our case status. Hoping that my wife (USC petitioner) will have received the letter in her mailbox, when she returns from a night of celebrating this evening. Our NOA1 is 07/11/17, will update timeline when I get the NOA2 deets :)

  12. Hello,

Only just found this forum. I started looking around for information, because I'm getting a bit frustrated with this situation.

My wife (US citizen) submitted our petition, and we received the NOA1 notice date July 13/17, with a PD of July 11/17.

I'm currently waiting in Canada for something to happen.

Our petition is sitting at the TSC.

I've been monitoring the processing dates at the TSC, and to my surprise, they were updated to November 30/17, yesterday Jan. 29/18

Now, this is where the frustration part kicks in...... on this latest update, they are working on cases (I-130 US Citizen filing for Spouse)

    dated March 02/17.

From the Sept. 30/17 update (Feb. 02) to this one, they have managed to clear up one month of petitions (for our category).

If it's taking them two months to clear up one month worth of petitions, at this rate our case will not be move along until the end of July.

I'm not sure how this site is coming up with a "prediction" that our case should be looked at by mid Feb., that seems a bit unrealistic.

The other thing that's a head scratcher, is, that if the same I-130 was filed by a "Permanent Resident for a Spouse", this latest update has them working

    cases as of July 01/17!!

I've gone through many of the posts in this thread, and I'm wondering if some of the Petitioners might be Permanent Residents? I'm asking this because, from what I see on the USIS site (TSC processing) , it doesn't seem possible that any Petitioners that are US Citizens are anywhere close to getting approved.

Sorry for the long winded post, I'm just trying interject some logic into an illogical situation.
