I contacted my congressman and the representative that is handling my case wasn’t there so I’m calling tomorrow again cause they said they contacted USCIS and they said they had an answer for me, however when I called them, they gave me the run around. Online I’m waiting for the processing time to change to june 15 and will immediately submit a case inquiry along with a ombudsman with the state and if i don’t get a resolution within the next 10 days, i am doing a mandamus which is basically suing the federal government for a decision on a pending case. This wait has been just ridiculous and out of line and completely unacceptable. We are not asking for charity, we are paying a very expensive fee for a benefit and a right that we qualify for. Know your rights and fight for them.

We still have not received anything or had updates on our case. Is anyone else in the same boat and have you had luck with calling? Apparently I can't call on my husbands behalf.

aaaaalright - we are back - and APPROVED!

well it was very interesting to start this off...

first of all, we had to show our ID's and verify it's really us, and then he started going through the K1 application and verified
information i filled out there (such as my mom's name, birthdate, city i was born, my job back home etc) and then asked things
about my hubby (also job, divorce verification, etc) and then said ok let's talk about the GC now since you are here for that.
and so he started of saying "so i see you guys got married may 12th, do you have any pictures of the wedding?" so i handed him
the pile i printed out (which was about 20 pictures in total, 4 of the wedding, the rest of our meetings in within the last 1.5 years that i
have not showed or shared with uscis yet). with the pictures he asked us if we had a reception or why our family wasn't there.
we explained to him that we are planning on a big wedding for oct 2019, as we postponed our oct 2018 wedd to make sure all
my family/friends can fly in. he then asked us how we met, where we met the first time, how we continued our relationship.
he was amazed how many times we were able to visit each other as he said they get a lot of couples that are not as fortunate.
then he asked me how many times i have been to the US, if i had a visa before (yes F1 student visa), and asked mostly questions from
the form and verified that i knew the answers.

that was basically it he said it would take about 30-45 days to get the GC in the mail and that we'd have to make sure to let
them know if we move and have a new address as it'd be a struggle to re-send the card and all that! so yep, that was it.
at 11:15 we were out and it took us literally 30 min in total.

also, as it couldn't get any better, i got my first temporary job starting on monday  wohoooo!!!! it is not my dream job, but
will do to get out the house for now!

That was really nice of them💪🏽 That’s an employer worth working for💪🏽 Going above and beyond! Unlike USCIS, who you’re actually paying to get serviced 🤣

Before 45, back in the better days, this whole process wouldn’t take more than 9 months TOTAL, 10 in extreme cases. A work permit and ssn was usually issues in less than 3 months but then again 45 happened and the whole system is upside down, even to become a US citizen, a process that was usually done in 6 months tops is taking over a YEAR AND A HALF 😱😱😱
Getting to the country legally, doing EVERYTHING by the book, paying thousands in fees; it means absolutely nothing nowadays, the resources that could be used to work with people doing the right thing, are being exploited in a anti-immigrant propaganda (especially us browns), instead of hiring enough people at the USCIS to process our very expensive right, we get an entire workforce to investigate bogus citizenships 😒 and that’s where we are ladies and gents 👌🏽#winningNOT

So I called Again about my EAD. As soon as I told the officer my filing date is June 4th. He immediately, sent off a notification to the office.
He was great, was on the phone for 30 minute wait and with the officer 2 minutes 😂

@Kat&Joel based on USCIS customer service policy, you can request tier2 at any point during your call (especially if tier 1 has no answers for you) and if tier 2 doesn’t work, ask for their supervisor. Also, as of right now EADs and APs are supposed to be processed within 4-6 months 120-180 (min-max). If your case gets to 180 days without adjudication, the very next day you can submit your inquiry online, however, i spoke with tier 2 (yet again) cause there was a city job opportunity i wanted to apply for and the information she gave me was that my ead was on hold and that she was sending some inquiry request that was supposed to be answered in writing within 15-30 days explaining why it was on hold. I don’t know if any of that is true but I hope this gets taken care of soon cause day 180 is less than 16 days for me, which is the most ridiculous thing in the world 😡 i bet that if they’d take this long to cash the checks m, they wouldn’t take this long to process this. #sorryfortherant

@Laura & Chris also I keep meaning to ask as this makes things a bit interesting for your case.  How did you get your AP and not your EAD?  I would have thought that would be sending your EAD real soon if they already took the time to process your AP.  I thought the two were meant to come together.  Maybe a tactic you can try when calling is to mention that you got your AP but your EAD hasn't arrived yet.  I find that a bit odd. I could have sworn that they process those two at the same center so they should have been looking at your case already.  I could be way off but I thought I'd mention it and maybe it can get you to teir 2 faster.

*also forgive me if you already answered this question earlier.  I may have missed it in the threads.

I believe there is a song for this tier 1 person on youtube.  It's called "why the **** you lying" excuse the language.  They can't update their website to say you can put through an inquiry and then have the tier 1 lie about it.  They are the ones who run the website.  I would call back and try to talk to a different person and keep pressing for tier 2.  It's like a lottery role who you get to talk to.  I feel like the Tier 1 people sometimes have no idea what they are talking about and just try to get people off the phone.  It's very frustrating.  Don't give up hope.  I think some of us that are waiting are only a few weeks away and at the very least we can start talking to tier 2 without a big hoopla very soon.  The lady my husband talked to was super nice and told us that they don't like to miss deadlines and that we should hear something in a few weeks.  I don't know if that's true or not but at least she tried to be reassuring.  I say we just keep recording our call attempts on here so we can all have a chuckle and be ready for any response they give.

Wow, what a reply! Never heard that!
There seems to be so many inconsistencies with how it’s handled. I’m June 8th filer, no RFEs for EAD, AP or AOS. Just received the EAD... and yay the social security number followed a few days later  so happy and interview ready to be scheduled!

Hoping you get the good good news soon too!!!

Dead silence on our case. Still says received. No mail. I am honestly getting worried that there is something wrong. I feel like I should ring them on my husband's behalf but I dunno if I want to do that at work.

    Hey everyone!
A little update on my case:

Nov 7 - got approved for the EAD+AP combo card
Nov 8 - card is in production
Nov 14 - received card in mailbox
Today, Nov. 17 I just picked up my Social security Number Card from our mailbox, which was a surprise, for I assumed it takes longer for that one to be sent.
We filed June 4 and got accepted on June 6. Since August 7 we've been waiting to be scheduled for an interview ( I live in West Texas).
Fingers crossed for all filers. It such a painstakingly long process, but hang in there. Lately I've been kind of anxious because my husband deploying in January and comes back in September of next year. I'm unsure what to do if I get scheduled an interview in the meanwhile. Anyway, for now, I'm trying to be excited for my EAD card, yay!

    NEW CARD BEING PRODUCED!!!!

My husband was super pissed off after the congresswoman's office email. He called and told them the reply is not good enough and the job offer was only pending till the 19th. The congresswoman called USCIS and told us well you're not in financial hardship don't expect your approval before the 19th. We explained there was no way we could have provided any proof with our initial expedite as they never sent the letter requesting it and providing the fax number. They went back and forth and he was talking about how he voted for her in the hopes they could do something some heartfelt other stuff. She said oh your wife is still in processing time, he explained we have an expedite someone needs to do something about that expedite. She just kept saying it's our own fault cause she doesn't know what our initial expedite case was about. Facepalm!! But it's done!!!! Card is being produced.

He can call now and request tier 2 officer. I’m on day 155, the officers can look further in a case. They submitted an update request to nbc since it’s month 5 and my adjustment was already sent to local office for scheduling.

I'm at day 160.  My husband will be calling on December 4th and they sure has heck better be nice to him or else I will be calling them throughout the day from work.  The cutoff for filing an out of processing time inquiry is 6 months so they absolutely have to investigate if it's been 6 months.  It says on their website.  Whoever you talked to obviously doesn't know what they are talking about at all.  I would call back and try to get through to another person who is more knowledgeable.  I can't believe how much they mess people around when they are collecting all this money.  Unbelievable!!!!

Call again and when you get the rep request a tier 2 officer. The tier 2 officer should call you back. If the tier 2 officer doesn’t resolve your request, then ask for their supervisor. That escalation process is on USCIS site and tier 2 officers have more power of access to cases than reps, they only tell you what the website tells you 🙄 good luck 🍀

Hi Y'all! I got my EAD approved last Wednesday.
First I had the status "New card is being produced" and one day later both the forms i765 and i131 had "case was approved" status on the website. Today I got the approval letters but no sign of the actual card. My status in the app and website continue the same: "Case was approved". How long should I take to get the actual card?
I saw that most people the card within a week, so got all excited, but now I'm worried because the status hasn't changed to: "Card was mailed" yet.
    Thanks!
