Thanks for everyone's responses! My fiance arrived on Friday, and we tried to go to the Social Security Office in our town on Monday, but they said we had to wait 15 business days from the date of his arrival before we could file for his social security number. Can we get around this by going to a different office location?
Hmmm... We waited until after the wedding to get the Social Security Card in order to avoid the name-change hassle (she took my name). Your fiancé will not have the same issue, but I don't think there's any problem waiting until after the wedding...

Fiancee had interview on 26 June. Birth Certificate was not original and they wanted my 2017 W-2 and Income tax forms (we were October 2017 filers).
Second interview with requested documents on 3 July, Approved!
She picked up her Visa on 5 July! Just about a year to the day when I started filling out our I-129F!
What a process, eh?

Hello,
We got our NOA2 on 18 April and our NVC status is "In Transit" since Thursday, 10 May.
Can anyone tell me how long the "In Transit" takes?
Also, how long does it take to get Medical Exam results in Almaty? Is it possible to do both the exam and the interview within a few days of each other?
Thanks!!!
-
Yay! Just got case number!
I don't know the date it was received as it was my first call to NVC. ( I deal with anxiety differently--some may call every day from first possible day--I give it a while and give myself good odds for success. We're all different.) I spoke with Marie, who was a delight.
NOA1: 18 Oct 2017
NOA2: 16 April 2018
I was also given an 'Invoice Number' that I was told I would need.
Question: Need for what?
Warm feelings in my heart tonight are offered to all those still waiting.
Bless you all!
Best,
--Bryan

23 minutes ago, sumbunny said:@oldowan Out of curiosity, have you created an account on the new site to see what it says there?
https://my.uscis.gov/account/applicant
Just curious if we're still getting truly silent NOA2s or if the silent ones on the old site / app are showing up on the new site.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
I checked the new site and saw:
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay! Now for the rest of you! Any day now! Do not lose hope!
My fiancee is fast asleep--can't stand the thought of waiting until morning to tell her!
I am having a good day. In an 90 minutes, my 80-year-old father is getting married. The family is all together for the first time in YEARS. We will be celebrating this wedding this evening. Now I have something even better to celebrate at the same time!!!!
Wow.

Yikes! I'm on the west coast this week for a wedding and I just saw that there's mail being delivered to my house (on the East Coast) that looks like this:
I won't be home until Saturday to open it.
My app says that my status is "Case was received" (on 18 October 2017).
Any of the more experienced folks here know if there are any clues from the picture to tell if it's an RFE or an Approval?
In the address part is says
"1 of 1" and under the gray bar on the upper left of the address is my fiancee's name.
Are either the RFE or the Approval NOT 1 page?
I cannot stand the suspense!!!
Can anyone help?
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you'll get your Noa2 first @oldowan😊😊😊 Cheer up! 😂
@Oldrae,
I like it; the Ben Franklin thing:
"“I'd rather be a pessimist because then I can only be pleasantly surprised.”
My money's on you Oldrae, to get the first NOA2!
I'll buy you a drink if I get it first... a wager!
Thanks for the good wishes.
Overall, I'm hopeful and cheerful; no matter what happens, it will be okay in the long run.
Goodnight,

As I said day of RFE's. That may be bad news for today, but the good news if that tons of approvals and silent NOA2's usually come after days like this. We'll see!

Please pardon if I am having an un-warranted worry here, but:
Here are the latest stats available in the August thread:
Is it really possible that >30% could still be waiting for approval in two months? (50% if you include the RFE's)
Am I looking at this right?
Please advise before I freak out a little bit..
Best,
--Oldowan
P.S.: sorry for double posting at root level... Still learning how to use this thing.

Please tell me how you get these statistics! My application is on 18 October and I want to be able to monitor this activity.
Best regards,

I-751 June 2021 filers?
in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
Posted · Edited by oldowan
Sent ours I-751 package off on 25 June USPS Priority Mail with receipt.
Received I-797 NOA on July 10, which states that the I-75 was received on 6/29 and the NOA was created on July, 1.
NOA also has a note that says that "Your conditional resident status is extended for 18 months from the expiration date on your Form I-551" (Green Card). Our expiration date was July 11, 2021. That means, I guess that we're good until January 11, 2023.
However, VisaJourney sent me an email stating that my I-751 Approval Estimate is now April 2, 2023.
I hope it doesn't take that long...
