I'm travelling to the US next week, for the first time since we filed the I-130. I'm also from the UK. So far I have been visiting for roughly 2-2.5 months each trip, leaving roughly 3.5-4 months between visits. I have been stopped and interviewed two out of three times. So far the only evidence I have been asked to show is my bank balance. But I always carry the following, just in case:
A letter from my work confirming the date they expect me to return
A letter from the friend who rents me a room confirming the date she expects me to return
Evidence of my current bank balance. (So far I have been taking £1000 for each month that I am there and it has been acceptable to CBP, in my circumstances)
Return flight information
This time I will also be taking a copy of the NOA1.
I'll let you know next week whether or not I made it.
Good luck! Let me know how it goes for you 😊

I'm sorry for the not so nice answers you've received. A lot of questions get asked repeatedly here and it irritates some members. There was a stickied post about visiting up until recently, but it looks like it was moved to the visitor's visa forum. Here's a link so you can check it out and read about other's experiences!
Thank you! That was exactly what I was looking for! 😊

Just as a note, a return or ongoing ticket is actually required for all VWP travelers.
I wasn't aware of that but we always book both at the same time. Good information to have for sure! Thank you!

Dont forget to make sure he books a return ticket! they will ask when his return flight is, make sure he has a print out of the booking showing the return flight details/date
Yes! We always book the outgoing flight the same time we book the incoming flight just to make sure!

Yes he can make sure he has a letter from his employer stating he is due to return to work after his visit to you & i would suggest him having a photocopy of your NOA1 from your I-130 to show you are in the process at present (just in case they ask for these evidences, the probably wont, best to have them on him though!)
That's a great idea! Thanks for the advice!

Sorry for the unkind replies you've had.
It is possible. If he is traveling for business, it is probable.
Thanks! I feel allot more confident now. Obviously being separated for long periods is not an ideal scenario for any relationship and I don't get nearly enough vacation time from work! 😊

Yes, there is some negativity on here and that makes some hesitant to ask questions, unfortunately. Don't let that stop you from asking about anything you need info on though - I have always found I get good solid info pretty quickly on here - ignore any unhelpful responses and you will find this site is extremely informative.
Thank you for that tip. Definitely a good outlook to have! 😊

K-1 stickied thread below.
The CR-1/IR-1 version appears to be gone for some reason...? Weird. It still applies all the same, though.
Thank you! We applied previously for a K1 and he traveled just fine while that was pending (cancelled due to choosing to get married and apply for a marriage visa instead).

Thanks for the kind reply! Definitely not lazy, it's allot of information to look over and review and thought it would be simpler to post a question than continuing searching. I thought this forum was a way for people to get information and share experiences and I don't really understand the negativity.

Is it possible for my husband to travel to the US after we file an i130? He lives in the UK and currently travels to the US one week a month or every other month. He has a job and ties to the UK that would show that he would not plan to stay permanently. I know it's up to a Border Patrol Agent and that technically they can deny but my questions is more so is it completely impossible while it's pending. Sorry if this has been addressed in a previous posting and thanks for any help in advance! 😁

Yes. Cancel it.
One reason is so USCIS doesn't waste time working on your k1 that in the end will end up expired. They have other thing to work on.
I guess my question is also more so how do I cancel it? Thanks for the reply!

My now husband and I decided that the K1 Visa was not for us and to take the route of the a CR1. So, we are now officially married and need to get the application process started for the CR1. My question is do we need to do anything to cancel the K1 before moving submitting applications for the CR1? I know we lose the money we spent on the K1 and I'm also aware the CR1 takes more time. I'm just wondering the process of the cancellation before resubmitting. Thanks for any help!

Thank you all for the great advise! After talking it over, we are going to cancel the K1 Visa and reapply for a K3 spouse visa. That way when he does get here, we won't get tied up with the AOS process. The last thing we'd want is for something to happen with his mum once he's here and him not be able to fly back home (well more accurately, not be able to get back in to the US).

Happy Wednesday everyone! Sorry if this been addressed previously but I can't seem to find the answer. My fiance is from London and we received our NOA1 on 1/29/2018. We obviously wanted to get the NOA2 as soon as possible but we have just recently found out that his mom has cancer so there actually isn't as big of a rush anymore to get here so he can spend as much time with her as possible (it's not looking great). So my question would be after receiving the NOA2, is there a certain amount of time to take the next steps before that expires? For example, if we wanted to wait until spring of next year before pursuing the interview would that be an option?
Thanks and my apologies in advance if this is already a topic on here!

We got the email on Thursday that our case was also sent to NVC from Nebraska. We sent our application July 12, 2019.
