  1. Hello,

I am helping my MIL come to the US on a tourist visa. We have completed the DS-160, paid the fee, and scheduled an appointment. My questions are:

Does she need to bring anything else to the interview? Proof of vaccinations, proof of finances, itinerary, letter of invitation, etc?

What is a good way of proving you intend to return besides buying a return flight before hand?

    Thanks for all your help!

    Hi There,

    And congratulations :)

Would you share your wife's interview ecperience? the questions asked by the CO?

    Thank you

My wife talked to a woman CO, she was acting very bitchy while the male CO was being friendly. She was asked how many times I’d visited, when the CO feigned shock at how little time we spent together my wife clapped back and said I worked 2 jobs and that was the only time we had (total 31 days over 4 visits in a year). The CO accepted this. She was then asked if my parents were at the wedding and my wife said yes. Then she said congrats ma’am your visa is approved you need to register with Aramex if not done so already. I think with these interviews a lot of it depends on your composure and confidence. My wife said a lot of people were making mistakes or slip ups in their interviews. My wife is amazing and handled herself like the badass she is. Lol.

Usually it's only a matter of days, but it could take longer. Generally when the status changes to 'Issued' that means they have printed the visa and sent the passport via Aramex. I'd give it a bit more time, especially considering that Eid was recently so that likely has slowed things down a bit due to office closures.

Literally just checked ceac again and it says ISSUED. Now we have to wait for aramex. Any estimates as to how long that would take?

  4. Hello I’d like some help with an issue I’m having with my wife’s visa. She had her interview at the Moroccan consulate on June 11 and was told she was approved. We called aramex today and they still don’t have the passport. I checked with ustraveldocs and when I entered her passport # it says There is no status update available for the passport number submitted.

CEAC shows our case as in Administrative Processing updated today. What does that mean? I thought that after the interview was done and we were approved it was a matter of only a couple days and we’d receive the passport. Is there anything I can do? Who can I contact?

I have a question. Our NVC case has my wife’s name as AM. However her Maiden name AB is on all her documents. Would that be an issue for NVC? She is getting a new passport on Monday and isn’t sure if they will allow her to put AM on it (even though we got married there, in Morocco, and she has our marriage certificate copy).

Anyone? Idk what to do we’ve come this far

It takes me almost 5 weeks to get a case number but as soon as I got the case number everything move on so fast.

( One suggestion to everybody . As soon as you pay the AOS fee .Print the document cover sheet and send your document with the AOS document. You do not need to wait until you finish your DS 260 and IV fee. )

    IV AOS document sent 3/8/18

    SD 3/16/18

    CC 3/28/18

Only 12 days to case complete. This morning I check the CEAC and status changed to AT NVC . I call this afternoon to make sure my case is completed. Mine is regular case. :jest::)

    Good luck to every one!!!!!

How soon after getting your case number were you able to start working on submitting paperwork. When did you get your email?

Got this too after they received our response to RFE. It means u are approved.

You were right!!!! Approved 1/31!!! This fukking nightmare is finally done. What is next? I know NVC but do I need a lawyer for that? I hired/paid for one for uscis filing but now they are asking for more $ to handle NVC. Can I do it myself or would it be wise to use lawyer services?

  8. Just got this email, I didn’t apply for any name change though. I just sent back an RFE, why would they say this?

There has been a recent processing action taken on your case.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators. If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or photographs taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment. We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment. It is important that you keep this appointment. If absolutely necessary, you can request that your appointment be rescheduled however, please be aware that rescheduling may delay the processing of your application. Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice if you need to reschedule. Occasionally, you may receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints taken when you have filed a form other than those listed above. In these situations, you may receive your appointment notice more than 30 days after submitting your application or petition.
