I don't use any app but if you open an account in "myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov" and add your case information along with your phone number, they will send you text messages anytime there is an update to your case. This is different from the "egov.uscis.gov" case status check and also more efficient.

    Good Morning August Team,

I had my interview yesterday at 1pm and just wanted to share my experience. I got there 15 mins early and got called in around 1:10 PM. The IO was nice and apologized for being late from lunch and I mentioned it wasnt a problem. Asked how we were doing and i said i was doing alright but my wife is managing as she is pregnant and due Sep 7. She swore us in and took prints of my index fingers and there the interview began. Started by going through stuff on the I485, the Yes / No Questions etc etc. Which was majority of the interview. The only question she directed at my wife was how we met and that was it. She asked my spouses birthday. and that was 2 days ago, and asked what we did. I have been married 4 years and just filed last year so she asked if there was a reason i waited to file.
She then asked if i had any more evidence i would like to add and i handed her our 6 months bank statements and power bill. health ins and car ins, wedding cert, birth cert, school admission of our first son, 4 year tax returns and about 20 photos. She barely glanced through these but mentioned she wanted to look through the pictures to see our son.

After she told me it looks like we have a good case, she doesnt have any reason to deny us and she'd recommend us for approval. Told me to make sure my name is on the mailbox and it should take abhout a couple weeks to receive it.  I left my phone in the car but when i got to it it was around 1 40pm. At exactly 4 30 pm i received a text that "new card is being produced". I might be missing a few questions she asked but feel free to  ask me anything guys.

Thanks to all for sharing your posts and experiences. Helped tremendously

I'm on the same boat. Next is probably the case status will change to "Ready to schedule for interview" and they will give us an interview date.

    Hi guys,

Today my case got updated to "Case is Ready for Interview" and stuff, so good news

I don't know if I told you guys, but after the InfoPass I sent a Police Clearance certificate from my country, since I asked the IO and he told me that could be helpful, and it should have arrived on Monday. (Thanks @Bfree3 for the idea, even though you were answering Holly-ando: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/665642-f2a-2018-aos-filers/?do=findComment&comment=9232762)

So, I'll just wait for everything to run its course again, because I did felt that my case was getting outside of the processing time.

Lesson learned from that: If your case has more than 75 business days pending without it getting an update from Fingerprints, try to do something to shake the tree, make an InfoPass, send an additional document, something, or ask for help in this forum even to get a few words of support. I do think that there is a connection between this update and the fact that I sent additional documentation and made an InfoPass on the previous days.

*Non-Immigration related update: The laptop magically fixed itself, summer is still packed with people visiting and activities, my parents are the next ones, so first my father-in-law, and now my wife's in-laws, we have here a summer-in-law.

Hi, I also filed my AOS in July 2018. Currently working in US under my F-1 OPT status.

Hope everything goes well for everyone here.

It’s not necessary but I did it because my husband did it when he was applying and I decided to follow suit. However, my police record is from the Bahamas not from US. If you haven’t done anything then you don’t need to send one but if you want to Contact your local nearest police station and find out about it. I have never done anything either so of course my record was blank and it costed me about $3.00.

I called led a couple places and it went anywhere from $300 and up. $300 being for the physical exam and any shots and blood work were extra. Some offices included the necessary shots in the price but all were around the same price range you have. Which is exactly why we said if you can afford to do the medical then go ahead. No one should have to pay that fee more than once. That’s ridiculous.

If you have an Alien Registration Number already use that wherever it asks for it. I had an existing A# when filing for AOS in January '17 and retain that same A#. If you are assigned a new A# then that will be the one you use going forward if ever you are asked for it

Yes, put the alien number that you already have for OPT. But they will assign you a new one.
    Alien number = USCIS number

the instructions for the i485 are pretty clear and you can use that as a guideline as it will have the most up to date information. I also did some research from here but like I said it wasn’t up to date. I went through the instructions and wrote down all evidence required.

Firstly, I downloaded all the latest versions of forms from the uscis website directly. I filled them out using my adobe pdf reader( REMEMBER TO SIGN).

Went to Wells Fargo which is where my husband and myself have an account together and purchased a cashiers check in the amount of $1,225. Note: money order is only for amounts of 1,000 or less.

    Good morning,

All of us have filed for AOS with pending I 130 applications and have been accepted, completed biometrics and are now just waiting on interview- (just so you know it is quite possible and you are more than eligible).

You can can confirm the information by reading the information that precedes the “chart for filing” which is chart B of the visa bulletin. The information has a link to the uscis page where uscis instructs whether the chart for filing an be used. See attached photos. Keep in mind that AOS is ONLY  for persons who are presently in US

AhsanTX reacted to AussieGuy12 in Our Concurrent Filing from F-1 OPT to AOS (I-485 & I-130) with additional forms - My step by step.
    Hi Everyone,
So a big day this week, My wife and I finally submitted for my AOS from F-1.
Short Background - Came to USA to study abroad in 2013, met my now wife. I transferred from J1 > F1 (No 2 year requirement).
Have been on F1 and F1 OPT for both my Undergraduate and Masters, my current OPT expires in August, 2018. I also recently renewed my passport, so that is a little confusing too, but we got through it and luckily by I-94 record stayed the same.

With the help of everyone on here, I was able to complete the application without a lawyer, but did consult for specific questions, and with the help of VJ and Reddit, we felt comfortable that we covered all corners.

I put together a Cheat-Sheet that would help me gather all the information, and among the craziness, it really did help me. The cheat sheet is below

After following a follow user on here - @ColoradoBeauty with their Application here.

I decided to do something very similar, and hopefully it will help in the long run. I put together folders.

    - I-485 (with i-693 medical inside)
    - I-130/130A
    - I-864
    - I-765 & I-131
    - Evidence of Bona Fide Marriage

In each folder, I put on one side, the forms needed and the supporting documentation beside it.
For the Bona fide, I actually put a checklist with Numbers and added them as "Tabs" so the officer could quickly see the specific evidence on the cover sheet and locate it quickly visa the tabs.

    Inside I-485

    Inside I-130

    Inside I-765 & I-131

Bona Fide Evidence Cover Sheet (Note the tabs hanging out the side)

Fingers crossed and hopefully this can help those, who are in a similar position.
    Thanks,
