Hi,
 
We have received NOA2 on 15th February and waiting for further process for NVC to send the case to the Indian consulate at New Delhi. 
Meanwhile I have a question how to take my pet dog from India along with me to the US (California) after K1 is approved? I have a 13 year old Lhasa Apso and I don't have a clue how to go about it. If anyone can share the details.  like process involved etc, would be very very grateful. I have other questions like most important "will it be safe", if anyone can guide it share experiences would be great.

Creating a timeline is the best way to get a good idea of what you should be expecting. Let's face it, no one at USCIS can even come close to giving you an estimate the way VJ can. I really appreciate this website for that.

Create a VJ timeline with your NOA1 date and VJ will give you an *estimate* of your NOA2 date. Then you can also go to http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1historical to see average time frames for the various parts of the process. Good luck!
 
 

Well, as of yesterday the latest approved/touched cases were dated July 19th with a single one from July 27th. At the pace they're going they should be getting to July 28th in or around 2 weeks from now. But that does not mean that all cases from July 28th will be adjudicated by then, just that they'll start touching some cases from late July. I would say to do the police certificates after receiving NOA2 as many of them have a validity of 6 months--so if you're case gets pushed back for any reason the police documents might expire and you'll have to do re-do them before the interview. The I-134 documents are to be used in the interview and should be sent to the beneficiary. However, if your interview is after tax season (April and after) then you should make sure to have the most recent taxes/W2s (2017). As for the time frame from NOA2 to K1: NOA2 to NVC is taking between 35--60 days, although it seems to be decreasing lately (thank god). Then you need to wait for NVC to process and give you a number to be able to do your ds-160 and get your interview date (which is taking 2/3 weeks as well). Then it depends on your consulate, as each of them have different processing times. So I would estimate noa2 to interview to be between 2 to 3 months.
